How To Clean Your Horse’s Tack

- 🌟𝗙𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗽𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗰𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗵𝗼𝗿𝘀𝗲’𝘀 𝘁𝗮𝗰𝗸:
𝗦𝘁𝗲𝗽 𝟭- Wipe down your saddle, girth, your boots, and bridles with a wet rag, dipped in warm water, to remove the dust and sweat residue. (Repeat step one after every ride to persevere your tack)
𝗦𝘁𝗲𝗽 𝟮- Clean all tack using a leather soap. I use the Devoucoux leather soap and sheepskin glove listed in link below. Any leather soap will get the job done.
𝗦𝘁𝗲𝗽 𝟯- Apply a thin layer of leather balm over all the tack after it dries from step 2, and apply a thicker layer in areas of wear (where leg hits, billets, etc.). Buff out balm with a soft cloth the following day after it’s had time to soak into the leather.
*Repeat step 1,2, and 3 one-two times per week for longevity of your tack. Keeping the leather conditioned, hydrated, and protected.
𝗦𝘁𝗲𝗽 𝟰- Oil your tack 2x per month for over all health of the leather.
Don’t forget to make it SHINE and then take a shower because you’ll need it 😂
