- The beginning of this track is the first use of a lesser known motif that reoccurs in all 4 of the RTD series (see my Labor Camps video for another use of it) . It's followed by a variant of a track from Dalek, from the scenes where both the Dalek and guards are electrocuted. Then we have another piece which is used in both the series 1 and 2 finales and then it ends on a somber piece which appeared in both Parting of the Ways and Father's Day.
0:21 Now see, this little theme here is the most frustrating unreleased track of all, because it shows up throughout all of Series 1 & 2, but isn't even given a name. God I'd love to hear the full version of it on youtube someday.
even series 3 and 4 aswell
"The Wretched Truth" is what it could be called. It's often played whenever something terrible is revealed, like when the family next door are taken to the labour camps in Turn Left
I love the way early nu-who portrayed the Daleks, particularly musically. They really feel like these eldritch abominations presenting on a physical level, but with a power and understanding beyond comprehension. That chorus combined with the eerie synth... Chills
good work as always, I do have a suggestion, though I am not sure it would be easy to get, its music that shows up at least 3 times in the show. The most notable is when davros is describing what the reality bomb will do, but I know it appears in midnight and the stolen earth as well.
i was thinknig about that music, i'll see if i can help
Love this! I think the dalek themes murray gold used for the russell t davies era were probably my favourites! 😊
"Those words are blasphemy!"
DO NOT BLASPHEME! DO NOT BLASPHEME!
@@yannatoko9898 "Since when did the Daleks have a concept of blasphemy?!" *😳*
@@joeo_18 _I reached into the dirt and made new life. I am the _*_GOD_*_ of _*_ALL DALEKS!_*
@@Ostermond *"Worship him! Worship him! Worship him!"*
@@martynbolam9932 "They're insane! Hiding in silence for hundreds of years, that's enough to drive anyone mad...But it's worse than that...Driven mad by your own flesh...The *stink* of humanity...You hate your own existence...And that makes them more deadly than ever."
What I've give for this to be re-orchestrated live.
Huh didn't notice that first part was used throughout the RTD era. Seems obvious now.
Very nice, im so used to the dialogue playing I can hear the lines in my head 😅
Glad its not just me ;) Lol
I've always regarded the first bit that’s reused across all series as the "finale is here" theme cos they use it here, in Army Of Ghosts, Last Of The Time Lords and Turn Left. Very much a 'shit is about to get real' theme. Surprising no variations ever made it to a soundtrack considering the usage.
It's sad that the best music Murray did for Doctor Who was series 1-4 particularly the first two, since he used electronic instruments mixed with orchestra and then he all but abbadoned it in the Stevie boy wonder era. Also, why did the Daleks get shafted with their music Post Series 5 apart from that small motive in "Victory"? I always liked the "Muewowwwwww" sound, was basically their trademark theme but it slowly started to dissappear. Almost like most of the creativity for the show but eh, I digress. Hopefully we can get them returning to their former glory instead of screaming Exterminate all the time.
They survived though me
Rose. Captain. This is the Emperor of the Daleks.
You've destroyed us doctor the daleks race died in your inferno but my ship survived falling through time crippled but alive
So is this Emperor the same one from Evil of the Daleks? I like to think so.
Loved Murray Gold's Series 1 Dalek scores and motifs, giving the scenes a tense and suspenseful atmosphere. If only they reappeared in Victory of the Daleks instead of the cheesy music.
It's weird how the overall sound of Dalek music just seemed to disappear into the Moffat era. I know the Moffat era went with a "new everything" approach at first but the Cybermen got to keep their theme so I'm not sure why the Daleks drew the short straw. It just became incredibly generic and indistinct from any other music. The most we got was a tiny bit of the Evolution of the Daleks theme towards the end of Victory and that really odd echoy and repetitive Dark and Endless Dalek Night variant in the series 9 opener.
@@JackardyAgreed. Considering that Series 5 used the RTD era Dalek designs, initially, they should've done the same with the Cybermen by reusing the old scores to maintain familiarity. In addition to the brilliant "Evolution" variant being used in "Victory", there was also the unreleased motif that was first heard in Journey's End.
@@AndrewHsieh96 Yeah the waste disposal track is one I'm looking into getting. Also, on the subject of Evolution they use a sped up version of the soundtrack version after the titles in Time of Angels which is very bizarre.
@@JackardyThe "waste disposal" is my favourite of the "Evolution" variants, as it plays at the correct speed with the vocals. If only it'd been released instead of one on the official Series 3 soundtrack. And I somehow knew that I recognised that bit from The Time of Angels, but couldn't figure out where I heard it before.
@@JackardyBTW, on separate note, you may have noticed that I shared some audio files with you via Google Drive.
Phenomenal!
Another suggestion: Can you do some of the tracks from The Impossible Planet/The Satan Pit?
Like, for example, the score that plays when Toby stands outside the space station.
i'll see if i can do that for you
ua-cam.com/video/dq4S5N1W_PI/v-deo.html i think this is what you are after
@@robodoesedits8666 Nope, not exactly. But thanks!
The scene where Toby is possessed and stands outside is in the OST its called 'The Impossible Planet'
1:54 the anne droid? The anne droid?
Oohh whats the musix called when the doctor says no to the daleks

Ooh, perhaps you could extract the music from this scene please, if you have time?
