Mullet's purpose was to be a jet car. That's one reason why it's so heavy.

It's still a pretty killer drag n drive car, especially for unlimited factory body rules. A bit hard on parts due to the weight, but he's hardly the only one with that issue lol(Bailey's cars are heavy, Steve's wagon is HEAVY).
This is headed to a Top Fuel ride with Uncle Clay one day.

My dad was a huge fan. He passed about a year ago but he owned a 1969 Camaro but with a 800hp 327ci bored 30 over and all motor. He would have loved this build.

A stock block truck style crate 350 makes 700hp on alcohol and that's a proven combo but it will never hold up to any type of stress for very long

Same car that started off the channel and a couple guys from Pro Mod that built Leroy and did work on Mullet when he was originally being made to be a jet car! HELL YEAH BROOOTHER!!!

This is incredible Cleetus. I love my 69 Camaro. It turns heads no matter where we go. People love it. Mine is a dark gunmetal with ghosted red, white, and blue stars and stripes that you can only see in one direction. That's when it's pulling away from you. Can't wait to see what your paint or wrap is going to look like. The Eagle is born!
Can we get like a 3-4hr compilation of just the "working montage" the music and watching you guys work is relaxing. Id keep that going at my desk while I'm working. Glance over and see you guys killing it building something.

Every other car that goes down the track is a 69 camaro lol. This will be a beautiful car no doubt, just look the Chevelle he built for Monza. That thing is gorgeous
I agree somewhat about the Camaro part but I would have to say I see more Fox bodies than any other car, I've owned a 69 myself but you can't blame him for building one if that's what he likes, he could have built another Fox Body 😂

The chassis guy mentioned a 481x if you haven’t heard of them they are a step above the SMX

@@douglasm3310 He mentioned the bellhousing for a 481x since that's what bellhousing Cleetus has for Mullet, they're going to be running the same basic TH400 setup in this car, and he just needs a bellhousing face to work off of(for the chassis mid-plate). Doesn't matter what the bellhousing pattern is for at this point, bellhousing length won't change; so it doesn't matter that the bellhousing is for a 481x, he just knows that's what Cleetus might have on hand that he could send over.

may i suggest - Instead of Eagle - go with "Eagle 1" for 2 reasons:
1 - there is NO WAY this is the only one ya'll build
2 - as a nodd to the old "USA 1" monster truck, you're keeping a heritage name also - to go with the heritage track.
lastly - this is just awesome. that is all !

So happy about the Journey with the El Co and Kevin. It was a big learning experience but was insane content. Can’t wait to see where both cars go.
To honor the legacy of a true MUSCLE car like a 196 camaro I believe a big block needs to be had. Steve Morris SMX comes to mind. Nelson race engines also has some great stuff. Twin turbo or blower doesn’t matter either way. I big block is destined for that car. Also, while HEMI’s are great engines it would be a crime to put a HEMI in a Chevy. If you want a HEMI build a classic dodge charger/challenger. Cleetus I love your channel and wish nothing but the best for you and your team. Go get that 5 second run in style

Hoping Mullet stays as is for drag and drives. I loved those RMRW videos just cruising on pretty roads in Colorado.
I wouldn't get your hopes up about Mullet staying a drag and drive car when they have Leroy, Ruby, and McFlurry already so what's likely to happen is Mullet may end up having the engine pulled for this new car and Mullet may get Toast's motor and become a burnout car unless he pulls a meme tow rig build like how JH did with the gooseneck Prius
@@theunhingedgamer3762 Leroy is not a drag and drive car and this new one wont be either. Mullet needs to have a purpose still.
@@theunhingedgamer3762 Leroy's hasn't been a street car for a while, no cooling anymore and I doubt it will ever return. Also the SMX from Mullet wouldn't make sense to put into Eagle, the SMX is specifically made for street use and Eagle will never be street driven.
I'm guessing Mullet stays 100% street car, and the new car gets a Proline 481x or similar.

Since I was a little kid my dad has always had either '68 or '69 Camaro's tinkering with them. Legit legendary body styles. I shit you not we still have two brand new authentic OEM '69 quarters hung up to the ceiling in our garage. They are in the box sealed and immaculate.
Don't waste them on a race car build! OE Restoration guys will pay a mint for New Old Stock stuff!

I just finished watching CJRC latest video, they build one of the Best Car's you can have, I watched them build Justin Swanstrom car that Lexus still works good, just don't push them, they are meticulous in every part of the build, you went to the right place.
A 1969 Camaro body on your tube chassis race car. That was a real exotic choice. Should have gone with a Trabant body, no heavy ass steel in that, its a 100% composite body from the factory, light weight, made for SPEED!!!

On my honeymoon in Orlando from Scotland, abandoned my family and drove to Bradenton to watch the racing last night 😂Didn’t see the giraffe or squirrel but seen James, Cooper and Dr Tune em all though but didn’t want to interrupt them with the kids. Worth the 7000 mile trip just for that, just don’t tell my wife 😅 Wish I could have bought some merch while I was there though.

Love the 69 Camaro. My first hot rod build was one of those back in 78. Small block de-stroked 400 .30 over, 11:1 pistons, 2 holley 4 bbls , 5:88 gears in the back. low 5's in the 1/8th on a street legal car. Not bad for back then. I'm retired but my nephew still races, he does both stock car and drag racing and his new toy is a 68 Nova with a 528 ci bbc and a holley 4500 dominator built to the gills.
All kinds of good reasoning to make it a 69 Camaro. The dimensions, the knowledge base, body parts availability on short notice. It makes sense for very active race scheduling. Which is why, along with fox bodies, they are so popular. Proven platforms.
If you have a Mustang, you need to balance it out with Camari.
Exactly I don’t think people realize when they’re saying he should have done this car or that car how hard it is to get carbon for odd cars and most of the cars people mention he would have had to have the molds made because they don’t exist

I grew up working on my old mans 69 camaro from the time i could walk. Its the car that started it all for me. He had to let the car go a couple years ago. This one hits personally. So excited for this man.
From balloons on ProChargers and turbo whistles in a Vette exhaust to a custom built tube chassis race car and becoming an airport owner.
