Never seen a chopped car look good. There’s a reason why 70 chevelle is everyone’s favorite, all the proportions are perfect. Chopping the roof would be a mistake
@@54raceman You'd chop a roof to improve aerodynamics to pick up some speed when you're going 140+ in the quarter mile. The factory didn't design the car to go that fast, so obviously, if you want to go fast, you need to change things.

My first hotrod was a 70 Chevelle in 1979! But I made the mistake of letting a friend drive it so I could ride his bike (Harley) and he rolled it about 6 or 8 times there wasn't a body part left that wasn't bent. So all the running gear & seats, the console, went into a 1967 El Comino, SS hood.
@@FreddyFunderbunz Because the perforations and symmetry are perfect now. There was a NASCAR 7/8 scale Chevelle (If I remember correctly) that Smokey built in '66 or '67. It was so perfect that it took some time to discover. That's one reason the have templates to this day.

if you don't know if an A body can be a drag car...then yeah, this is a puff piece (pun intended). so what would I do with it...well, since a clean A body goes for stupid money, that doesn't leave much less in the budget. since its going in a straight line, that means no need for an LS or a stroker small block to help out with handling. If I'm building for ET's, that means torque--an 8100 from the junkyard will do well, the question is pay up for the one company who sells heads, or just inject N2O to get atmosphere in there. Of course, I'll need a good exhaust port if I go that path, and that can be crutched with the cam timing and a very efficient exhaust system that pulls the air out (and a 3 angle valve job that helps the E valve flow better from seat to .03 inch lift, acting like overlap). Now I have to focus on launch--grab a bunch of rear coil springs meant for station wagons and Eky's and experiment with what works, probably go for an air bag as well. If i'm building for best trap speed, that means HP, so I'll pick a roller cammed 454 out of any junkyard and stall the trans for 3,500 RPM or higher. I might be able to get away with softer launches and break fewer parts (until I have the budget to upgrade) while hoping to "run 'em down at the top end" of the quarter mile. if that's really a real SS car, much less a big block one...don't be stupid and cut it up while thousands of Malibus rust away up north. Go cut and pro street or pro mod or whatever one of those "too far gone" and show off your talents. If it's a real piece of history, restore it--goodness knows everything you need is a catalog away.
A 70 chevelle body with the title that’s that clean and they offered $2k? They’d have been escorted off my property real fast. Where I live that car in that condition would bring $10k all day long

Don't get me wrong, I understand the middle-aged blonde woman is attractive and only included for eye candy. However, she does absolutely nothing without another man being present to coach her.
