      It says a lot that 95% of our society fails to do that. George Harrison, in "The Beatles Anthology," said that he always felt sorry for Elvis because he was alone. He had his guys and family, but he was the only one who knew what it was like being Elvis. The Beatles, however, shared being Beatles, and understood what that meant ...they were not alone. My point is, who are we to judge Elvis' lifestyle or decisions? He was under pressures that no one will ever know...because there was only one Elvis. I guess this hits close to home as I am a recovering prescription medication addict myself...plus I live in a small town where judgement was invented. No matter how much good someone does, like Elvis buying a poor woman the best electric wheelchair available for instance, and all the joy people get from his music, none of that matters to these people, because he led a certain lifestyle. It's disgusting.

      Although some were critical of Elvis and for different reasons, the truth is Elvis reached a massive level of popularity and was admired by many famous musicians including Bob Dylan and the Beatles, both massive musical and cultural icons. I think Elvis felt the love he was given by his audiences and they inspired him as he has often stated in interviews. I did watch his last live show in 6/77 and he seemed tired on stage, he song less songs and filled theater time having his band members introduce themselves AND play solo segments of songs which I never saw him do before, in past he would just state a musician’s name and they would stand up but not play. Seemed like he was trying to fill stage time so he sang less. He sure had a great voice!

      Elvis was in total denial about his addiction unfortunately and he made public statements in concert denying his use of drugs and it was total bullshit because he could not come to terms with his serious overuse of prescription drug abuse and sadly it took his life

    💙Elvis had to overcome a lot of difficulties. Elvis is very talented both as a musician and as an actor. Elvis is a unique individual. There has never been anyone like Elvis before and there is no one like him now. He really is very thoughtful in his responses! Besides all of Elvis' other great qualities, he is very intelligent and modest! He answers reporters questions quickly, unrehearsed, and always says the right thing! Elvis is a Mega Star without competition. Only Elvis feels and knows how to convey these feelings with his voice, body movement, look of his beautiful eyes, unique and unforgettable facial expression! In the creative work of Elvis laid down a powerful charge of energy, kindness, humor and beauty. Elvis achieved what he wanted, he will never be forgotten. Elvis is truly a national treasure. In the short time he lived in this country, he did more for other people than millions of others. We already can't imagine our lives without a daily dose of Elvis' love for his fans and our love for Elvis! It's dependence. But this is a pleasant dependence from mutual love. Elvis is the sweetest and most beautiful constant in our so stormy and rapidly changing world!🌹👑🎶⚡👌

    Elvis major flaw was not paying more attention to the business side and trusting Parker too much! Parker started taking advantage from the beginning by taking 25% of what Elvis made. Then while Elvis was recovering from a concussion talked Elvis into taking 50%! Billy said he didn't hear what was said but heard both Parker and Elvis raising their voices. After Parker left, Elvis told Billy" Pretty soon I'll be working for the Colonel" Billy said Elvis never talked to Parker about business in front of anyone nor discussed it. I think that was Parkers doing, so Elvis wouldn't realise how he was being taken advantage of.I also believe Parker blackmailed Elvis about Pricilla living with him and prescription use to get him to agree to that percentage. This happened in '68 or '69. He absolutely hated any kind if confrontation and that worked against him and his career. He could have done so much more during his career and had dreams to do more. He had so much more talent than we got to see!😢

      No doubt Col Parker was a piece of s***. Elvis once he made himself and Parker millionaires, he should have paid him what other celebrity's paid their managers. Parker worked for Elvis period.. Elvis was to loyal. It's a shame that Elvis never toured outside the states.. He needed a challenge. That Parker worked Elvis for the quick buck. Elvis needed a guy like Jerry Weintraub.

    I totally agree. Do not judge a man until you have walked in his shoes.. my grandfather was a very good Christian and anytime you hurt somebody being criticized he would say why are you doing that? You don’t even know that man. first walk mile in his shoes and then come back and tell me his life story. What if it was you your story so that is what I live by I do not a man because it says judge not less that be judged.. Elvis was bigger than any human on this planet. That is why he did not live past 42.. yes he was sick, but I do believe he always knew there was a that he was put on the face of this earth to give so anyone can take it please, always remember his life was never normal. He loved to entertain, and that is exactly what he did until he passed away.. never forgotten loved. Jackie.

    Elvis Presley became unhappy and sad when he found out that the kernal Parker took advantage of him and took fifty percent of his money and that's unheard of and in top of that the guy over the Vegas motel and the kernal scemed up something to make him resign a contract with the kernal and he had plans of getting a new manager and touring the world but kernal Parker and the Vegas motel owner tricked him into re-signing the contract , and a lot of people who was supposed to be his true friends turned on him and he was upset with Percilla but he loved Lisa Marie so much I remember him saying once that Lisa Marie was his number one girl and he spoiled her because he loved her so much and she wanted to stay with him all the time and did stay all summer and every time school was out for a while and Christmas, she truly was his only happiness in the end , it breaks my heart how he was taken advantage of by so many greedy people, he wanted friends that truly loved him for himself not his fame and money and he also has saved when he was a young boy and he was feeling pretty bad about sinning and he read the bible and he prayed and I truly hope he is in heaven singing in the angel band and walking over heaven with his daughter and mom and dad and Jesus because if he is in heaven he definitely found his peace and love and joy that you only can get in heaven worshipping God our Savior Jesus Christ

    This is true story (wink,wink) There is a guy on UA-cam who puts out excellent videos about Elvis history called the Spa Guy. He had a video about Elvis coming back from the Ed Sullivan Show on a train, and let Elvis off at Poplar and Mendenhall. Elvis walked back to his house on Audubon drive, at that time. He went through Audubon Park, a nice park that had a pond with stocked
    fish and a few ducks. I always wondered if Elvis stopped to visit the ducks, and yes he did. A few years later, around 1965, I went with my father to a fishing tournament they had at the pond, and my question was answered. For there at the pond, all the ducks were in circle cheering and in the front of them was a duck, Peanut, who had dyed his feathers on top dark black, was wearing a jump suit, and was singing and shake-rattle-n-rolling just like Elvis. So, my question was answered but was sweetened a little by the fact that Elvis gave Peanut Duck Elvis lessons!!!!!!!!!

    It was all such an unusual, multifaceted situation and WOW did Elvis have a fast wild ride when you really break it down. Lets review: He was almost a child star because he really wasn't an adult yet when the star started to ascend, then the attack by the negative press, then the government who drafted him as an attempt to destroy his career, this all lead to His Mother's drinking, health issues and eventual death, now comes a grueling movie making schedule, now all of this is happening to a kid for all intents and purposes who really didn't mature from living a normal life in any way thus far, now on the heels of years of movie making we have his degenerate manager locking him into endless Vegas shows, then grueling tours until he just finally gave out. His life was basically a bottle-rocket or an orgasm in his case if you will. Theres just no doubt about him having needed to change in the late 60's by creating a new management, promotional and legal team, Parker shot his load and needed to go by that time. Elvis needed a real team of lawyers, managers, accountants, promoters, secretaries and security personnel and not all of these clowns!!! I think about Johnny Carson who was being used and was nearly as broke at the same time Elvis was dealing with similar crap. Carson just hooked himself up with one good lawyer who went on to nearly make him half a billionaire, so imagine what Elvis could've achieved if he used real, professional people who knew what they were doing. All Elvis needed was his own "Bombastic Bushkin"😢

      They loved Elvis, they did not wrong him. Vernon was the one who damaged the relationship, cannot stand Vernon. What a no account jackass he was. Even his own father wouldn’t bail him out of jail, but he bailed out the others. His father knew his own son for sure.

      Elvis didn't even have the guts to fire him himself after 23 years of loyal service so he wrote a tell-all book about his life with Elvis. Elvis isn't the victim you and lots of others think. Accountability is a thing afterall.

    • @handmup
      @handmup 7 днів тому +1

      I am a huge Elvis fan, however the firing of Red and Sonny was wrong the way it was done and I can see Red and Sonny's side. They would have given their lives for him and after all the years of sacrifices they made to Elvis with their time, when they could have been with their own families. They truly loved Elvis and prescription drug addiction at the time was not as well recognized as it is today. There were no Betty Ford clinics or the like. They were unfairly fired with families to support and if they wrote their book out of some kind of hurt, it's understandable but it doesn't mean they didn't love or care for him and was hoping it would jar him into realizing he need to change.

    Face it. Parker was the sole cause of it all.
    There's the greatest entertainer of all time and a fat, greedy bastard completely shut him down.
    It was a revelation that Elvis was able to achieve what he did.
    Just think for a minute the career Elvis COULD have had, had he an honest caring manager.

She’s such a horrible person. And now she wants to be buried by Elvis. God forbid. How can she be so brazen. I hope she pays for what she’s done. She’s no good.

      You must of meant Red West. Jerry didn't do anything to Elvis. When he was alive, and after his death. Lisa Marie wouldn't of kept Jerry around, if he had. There's an interview with Lisa saying they all can rot in hell. Those who wrote "Elvis what happened" which was Red and Sonny West, and Dave? I forget his last name. Because they don't matter. Elvis was heartbroken. Elvis himself said he had no business sense. But, what Red and Sonny and Dave wrote about Elvis, it funny actually. They accuse him of what they've done also. No one forced anything down their throats. They didn't have to stay around. They did because they loved the luxuries. Your no friend to be a hyprocrite. I have no sympathy for them. Neither did Lisa Marie..

    • @joannemcclure3546
      @joannemcclure3546 4 місяці тому +3

      @@tammyrizza9962 Well Lisa didn’t know them very well at all and certainly not their history with him. I don’t care for Jerry at all, he knows why Elvis went to Washington and it wasn’t to see Nixon. Initially, it was to see Joyce Bova who was a significant girlfriend. But for some reason, probably something to do with Priscilla who by the way I can’t stand, Jerry refuses to admit it. Just stupid and ridiculous. I just do not like him, and even though Elvis bought him a house, he still was suspicious of him and Priscilla.
