It FINALLY happened! Wildfire 4 post lift installation - Vice Grip Garage EP78
Вставка
- Опубліковано 7 лют 2025
- After 15+ years, and hundreds and hundreds (and hundreds) of projects, Vice Grip Garage is finally getting a 4 post lift! After months of searching, I called WildFire Lifts after I saw their beam and post design. A huge bonus, they're a father-son team that's local to me here in Minneapolis, so I couldn't ask for a better team to be a part of. In this episode, they actually install it for me and run it through the paces. We'll test on it by putting the 1970 Cadillac on it, and finally get a nice view of the undercarriage (YOU'LL BE SURPRISED!).
Visit WildFire Lifts at www.wildfireli... to see their complete line of lifts and accessories.

We are ”happier than a woodpecker in beaver dam” for you. Well done.
Happy for you brother , keep moving forward , be safe and have fun !!
This is great to see , a good man like this getting machinery like this to help save his back .
I am a 73 year old fan, glad to see you have a lift. Your videos make my day a little brighter.
These are the kind of business people that built this country. We need them now as much as then.
Yes exactly
Too bad they weren't wearing masks!
Bob Johnson 🤣🤣🤣you kids and yours masks. 🤣do as the tv tells you. Don’t read the research out there, that for the broken down for the basic idiot says, why would you use a chain link fence to keep the mosquitos out of the house. Or maybe a fart molecule can get through your panties and pants, I’m sure a virus much smaller will get through your cloth mask!! But go ahead shout about a mask you social stain
Yes we need them, small business we can't let government kill this its important.
Jon Ellwanger Plus it's too freaking hot outside to wear them while working. I put one on before going into the loading bay because it's "mandatory" but it comes right off the moment I leave. But we can't insult people that do it religiously, after all they're the ones trying to be considerate and help stop the "virus". I can appreciate that, even if it's a load of bologna.
Is it weird that I welled up a bit watching this? haha
After watching these videos for so long, you almost feel a part of them. Watching the shop get this lift almost feels like a good friend of yours is getting it.
Congrats sir. You deserve this big time.
And you thanking us made me think of something. Thank YOU for bringing us into your home and be part of your passion. I think I speak for many of us when I say we very much look forward to seeing each new adventure you undertake.
Take care :)
Chad
Thanks for the awesome comment!!
I'm not crying, you're crying.
A man's just testing on the old eyeball sprayers. 💧
Well said my friend. Totally agree.
Well said Chad. You took the words right out of my mouth. I was overjoyed to see that lift go into the shop. Such a good feeling to see such a great guy get such an awesome addition to his shop.
thats awsome Derek, cant think of a more deserving person. you always put out great content. this will make things alot safer for a guy.
Why does you comment say it is from 3 days ago?
Kran Duty id say he’s a member and got to see the video early.
safer and kinder to the old body. this will also save him a lot of time too.
@@Dkallstar7 He's from the future!
Finally, Derrick. You really did the right thing. No, actually the right thing. Glad you're going to be crawling, kneeling and crouching as much. Great job. Love your channel.
Dang! You've got a "Liftalator 9000" A guy is really excited for you!
thats bad ass it rolls around. ive never seen one that was movable like that
@@elonmust7470 Probably the one he keeps at your mom's house.
Backyard Buddy has been making that caster design for years. The leg design and safety lock is basically the same as a Backyard Buddy as well. Not that it's a bad thing, the reason I bought one was that this is the safest design for a lock. I don't know what this company charges, but I know I paid more for a Backyard Buddy than the competition back in 2002 because I wanted the safest thing I could find.
DoublePark lifts made one of the original hobbyist 4-post lifts that was moveable 30 years ago. Got one in my shop.
yeah, ive seen the ones that bolt to the floor but never on wheels but then i dont go to shops very often. idk
Likewise. I have NEVER seen a Roller lift. All lifts I've been around are Static bolted to concrete
There exists no better vehicle lift in this category that I've seen or used. Woooee! Congrats champ! A dream come true.
I'm happy for you Derrick. Having a lift makes life a lot easier.
That lift will improve your quality of life big time! Congratulations!!
P. S. Get yourself a good old CB radio. Emergency channel is monitored. Could come in handy.
Vice Grip would be a great handle.
Excellent Idea!
This Hep-Cat is as groovy as Dr Who 40 yrs ago. Thank God he has 460 videos plus Membership bonus shows. I just sort by Going to Video Oldest..then like 👍 it and use downloader at 1920 HD save to phone and use Samsung Smart View to mirror to big screen TV then delete when seen. I only watch from oldest to newest seeing how things changed and kids bigger too fast. Great Dad to let um at it with work young!! Way to go Derek.
"Well I'll be.....lifted" Congrats Derek ! The mobility of that thing is awesome. Makes a guy feel all warm and fuzzy on the inside.
Man I am so proud for you, it's what all of us backyard shop guys dream about having and you are deserving as hell of one.
Derek, this is great success! Congratulations. Stay safe.
Also, don’t be hesitant to ask your fans for ‘big’ items. I recon there a lots of fellas out there who would love to support your cause - not with cash - but with ‘big’ tangible items not unlike the lift. And, I also recon, the fellas who donate the ‘biggest’ assistance would prefer to remain anonymous and humble. It feels good to help a guy out.
You’ll be at 1 million subs before you know it. Imagine what generous folks will have helped you with by then, and loved being a part of it.
Keep going. Your style and content is great fun to watch. Thank you for being so generous with your time.
This guy is very humble, I couldn't imagine him changing much off camera.
minnesota nice.
Yeah I reckon so.
Seems like a solid dude.
Been watching this channel for about a month now and I love it. I’ve told just about every fella I know to hit that subscribe button. Great video
! Congrats on hitting 300k subs
Watching this all these years later, and the subs went from 300k to 2 MILLION!!! Congratulations to one of the nicest guys and his lovely wife!! Here's to 2 million more!!! 🙏🙏
Mike and Brad from Wildfire lifts, well done gentleman!! “Murica” !! All of you stay safe in Minnesssoota!!!
Congratulations on the new lift, my jealous level is at 63.7%
Safety increased too! Always thought he should have made some safety wooden blocks.
A great tool. Congrats. Really enjoy your vids. Well I'll be dipped. An 84 year old retired semi driver, wrench bender. God Bless young man. 🐻
I’ll be honest with a guy, I can’t stop watching your videos. Best shop videos on the web, thanks for gettin’ it done.
Congratulations man! I'm happy for you, a guy deserves that after years of rolling around in the dirt! 👍🏻🇺🇸💪🏻
I can't believe the frame and underbody on that caddy, the thing is mint . That lift is so sweet, NO bolting it down completely portable a baby could roll that thing around. Congratulations. DALE
5:07 I would expect nothing less than the 'Xtra Large Tanya' model for a fella. Well done sir
😄
with roller skates!
Awesome lift! That Cadillac is in amazing condition underneath, especially for sitting in a field in the mud for all the years. Nice score.
Was happier fer ya than a starving Crappie in a minnow farm tank to see your new lift go in the shop as well as watching the guys putting it up while explaining it! That WildFire is so versatile & practical, betwix all them redundant safety features and rugged construction, it should give you guys many useful years of service! Congrats brother, you are so deserving of it! Love it when good things happen for good folks! Keep the vid's coming!!!
Awesome!!! My 53 year old carpenter knees ache whenever I see you struggling to stand after being down for a while, so glad to see you with a lift!!
I feel the same but add back and feet to your knees, from a 68 year old tile man.
Brian V Get yourself new knees...I love mine! Over ten years and good ALL day at Disneyland...they were overall easier than the aggravation of day to day funky old knees🖖🏼😎💕
those knee seeking rocks are easily the worst
Way to go Wildfire lifts, for setting VGG up! I'm happy for ya Brother.
Being up in Minneapolis I guess the looters couldn't just walk out with one of their lifts.
Man you are the best I have ever seen I work on tractor trailer 25 years Vise grips garage is best journeymen mechanic there is thank you for all job
I remember when you had around 40k subs. That is when I subscribed. Just keep doing what you're doing. You're awesome.
I'll be Dipped.. Congratulations ✊👊🤘
My wife couldn't understand why I was slathering at the mouth whilst watching this lift been installed and moved around. I've watched this video loads of times now and would love to have one in my little garage. Lucky B' !
so buy one, stop letting your wife run the house.
I'll be dipped, a guy must really be loving an upgrade like that! Congratulations!
“Well I’ll be dipped” that’s pretty awesome 👏😄
WF just sponsored me too man. My lift is on it's way!
Do you know what you do?
they felt sorry because your channel is so lame.
Congrats Derek! That does look like a damn sweet lift...never knew you could get a lift like that that you could roll around the shop!
Glad to hear there is going to be more regular content. This is my favorite channel on youtube right now.
That's American old school!
I'm a simple man from Pennsylvania, and as a child, I used to see positive courtesy demonstrated on the regular basis.
I does my heart some good to see mutual decency and respect for hard working men is still alive.
Thumbs up for your continued success!...
Good on WildFire lifts if I need to replace mine I know who'll get a call.
Ordered one, talk to Mike. Great guy, amazing stuff! Can't wait to pick it up in a few weeks
The power of Internet Marketing!
It is definitely something I would buy for my sons as a gift if I saw them getting hard core about automotive work.
They might wonder why I am measuring the ceiling height!
Nice thing as even if 2400 pounds, it is still mobile with wheels. So could even bring it to different places on the farm or something. You know summer work area or winter.
@@superchuck3259 that's what sold me. There are others designed very close to the same most with out the double lock, no casters, no drip pans, and no tool tray. The jack assembly is extra.
A feller should have 2x that amount of subscribers a guy puts a lot of work into his shows and another guy really appreciates that thanks fella!
A feller could sit and have a beer with Derek and Jessica and just go on and on about how fantastical this channel is. Congratulations on the upgrade, and can't wait to see what new projectiles you'll have in store in the future!
So happy for you - It almost looked like someone was cutting onions around you because I swear I saw a tear forming as you said you hit 300k subs.
Your gonna love that Wildfire lift. I have a friend who has one and he doesn't know how he ever got along without it. It's so handy in many different ways. The fact that you can move it around almost effortlessly makes it that much more valuable. I feel it is the best "four poster" on the market today. Hmmm, if they could only make a portable one that you could take with you on the road. You would never have to lay on the ground again. Keep up the good work.
Man that is great news! So glad you get a chance to have a lift! Way to go brother!
I have seen a lot of lifts and having one in my shop let me tell you " this is one high quality lift" and vary reasonable priced . don't wast your time and your back get this lift.
Wildfire lifts are no joke. USA
Keep on doing what you do. Guy restores my faith in humanity.
Uffda that is one solid unit! Love how you can roll it around the shop. Very nice!
Dear lord that kid has his pitch nailed down. Fantastic presentation.
He utilized every inch of his acumen.
I have a twin post in my 30' X 70' shop out behind the house. Have had it there for about 5 years. I got it used from my brother. It worth it's weight in gold. I vowed never to lay on a concrete floor again when I moved out of Minnesota in 1981. Now I can walk under my cars and stand up. It's magical as I am sure you will agree.
Glad to see a guy can finally give his back a break. 👍
I'll just say it... I'm jealous! lol. I'm surprised you waited this long! I seriously don't know how you did it without it all this time. Congratz!
Best part i think is that a guy promised us more videos. Keep up the perfect work.
Just stopped by from Mustie1. I haven't even watched my first video of yours, but I have already subscribed... that's how much I respect and enjoy Must. Can't wait to dig in here.
Awesome! Thank you! Hit the play list and enjoy!
I too am here because of Mustie1's video. :)
me too
Mustie sent me also !!
I like the "thats the biggest car i’m gonna ever put on this" 5 min later: puts even longer pickup on it
That car probably weighs more though
He said: "car"
@@beowulf7992 he says a lot of stuff, a car could be anything that may or may not have wheels and a seat. I'm sure he'd call a tank a "heavy car in need of some weight reduction, I dont know".
TheUnknownlogin facts
Bro the truck weighs so much less than that car. So therefore it’s not heavier. Just because it’s longer doesn’t mean it’s heavier
So happy for you man. Getting new tools is always awesome. Getting something that is this helpful, will make you happy everyday.
wow! what a neat lift! you will get some good use out of that for sure! Great Father/Son Team!
I'm not sure, but I think I'm in love with that big Cadillac. 💕
Hot damn!!! That lift come with a free haircut?! Congrats on no barnacles on the land yacht! LOVE that you can move that lift around!!! Worth every penny! I feel your knee pain! Great episode!
Love this channel. Derick you’re a legend. Glad to see you’re staying safe what with Jessica and three ankle biters. Keep up the great work. All the best from England🏴👍🏻
Absolutely agree with your comment Steve Davis. From England too!
Derrick must be taller than I think, those kids are getting big!
Imagine when the kids are 15 on learner permit...now son, this is how you power break!
Always happy to see a new VGG!
I'm 43 years old and don't even have a proper garage yet let alone a lift. I am thrilled to see a fellow like you succeed. These videos keep my spirits up when I just don't have it in me to turn wrenches on my own junk.
Really fantastic! That is one nice lift! You deserve it. Congratulations on 300K subs.
That lift looks fantastic! Lucky guy! You deserve it
But he needs to bolt lift it down on concrete to be safe...
You deserve your subscribers Derek! You have such an appealing presentation style and work with seriously cool cars. Sod all those I-talian exotic go-to-towners or those German Flashbang Moneywasters, these landyachts and pickups of yesteryear are the best. As a guy stuck in Engerland - I love seeing these cars
I love the fact you can roll that ramp around - it’s amazing and after seeing JRGo drilling so many holes for his lifts, it is a no brainer and really allows you to use your workshop space. Supporting a local business is just amazing too - I wish more people would. Hats off to you my friend!
When I was able to buy my place with my shop, first three items installed in the shop - lots of racking for storage, my big compressor, and my lift. Best stuff in the shop.
What did you choose for a compressor?
Ive got 20 years of home use on a Quincy cast iron dual stage 5hp 60 gallon and it still operates like the day i bought it!
Fun fact...when i brought the compressor home new we laid it down off the pallet into my half ton pickup. Felt like i needed two people to unload so i called my close friend at the time. He was drunk as a monkey and dropped his end and the belt cage got all mangled. Its still mangled to this day over 20 years later! Chris you know who im talking about...lol
@@williamstamper442 I am using an old camphell hausfeld industrial. I bought it used for cheap and rebuilt the compressor. It's a high volume single stage, all cast iron with a Baldor 5hp motor. I wish it was a dual stage but so far it has done everything I have asked of it.
@@RacerRickxx good for you that you rebuilt that tank and been using it successfully. I recently moved into the house i grew up in and my compressor is still at my other house. I been using a craftsman itty bitty my dad bought me for my 14th birthday back in 1983...it has a small hole in the tank and leaks like no tomorrow...it barely runs my air tools.
Just had to say that out loud and put things into perspective...lol
No bathroom?
love the fact that it can roll around, think l need to do some shopping.
I watch all of your videos mustie 1
I watch all of your videos
We got us a celeb here!!🙃🙂
My two favorite mechanics both endorse this lift! I wish I had a garage to put one in!
Mustie1 i think you mean a feller needs to do some shopping ? Right
Luv your channel, very detailed and informative, you also have a great personality and hilarious character!!!
Can't get enough of it, your character reminds me of my cousin who passed away a couple of years back from throat cancer, but you him and me somehow use a lot of the same saying and words used for explaining things, I like every video you put on here and they all get the 👍 likes they deserve!!!! Awesome to see that in that small but effective way it is helping you get the tools you need to make it a little easier for you to bring us even more great content, change can be good in some cases, but I just know it won't change the great diy mechanic character you have and that really makes your channel different from all the others!!!
Best channel on UA-cam hands down and I've watched a lot of different channel's on here!!!
Congratulations 🎉 on the purchase of your new lift!!!!!
Loving your channel, and that Caddy!!!!
Thank you
he didnt purchase it fool.
Dang!! That Caddy looks good on that lift.....
Very nice Derek! A guy can really get some work done and save on the knees and back at the same time. That deserves a cold snack.
About time you get a lift. I watch every episode and wonder when your back is gonna get thrown out. I don't know😁
🤣Not even 15 seconds in, there is one of those great one liners I love out of a guy!! "Happier than a wood pecker in a beaver dam" !😂😂🤣
"It's just Mind Bottling"😂
If anyone deserves that lift it's you......legit good content with no bullshit ....keep up the good work
I have the same lift, it’s pretty awesome! Been using it for 5 years and I believe it’s the safest 4 post made. Mine is an advantage lift , who I believe built that one also? Looks identical except the color. Use mine a lot no complaints . Good luck and work safe friend😁
I'm 40 myself man. Got 2 bulging discs in my neck. I'm not even supposed to work on cars anymore. Last week I had a trans that needed done, and just can't do it now. I had to bite the bullet and get the lift.
Who?

@@bobbyfischer6786 hes lame AF
My brother told me about you. So happy he did. My handicap won't let me type often. So I won't be bothering you very much. That thing is awesome. Can’t wait for more episodes!! Always a blast to watch and I always get a good laugh. VGG is the only channel my wife will actually watch with me. She thinks your hilarious. Again always excited for the next episode. Keep up the good work. Congratulations on 300k!!
like your new lift and your awsome garage.i grew up watching my uncle and dad repairing old cars from junk yard parts.learned alot.also learning lots from watching your episodes.
This lift is a totally amazing piece of engineering! Great to be able to see it put together, also. Happy for you in regards to how very much this is going to make your life easier, and allow you to do more to every car you work on!
Amazing product! Never seen a movable lift, genious!
Thank-you, for your humor and your patience demonstrated with each project you do.
I'm so happy for you! Now a guy can work in comfort and safety in his shop.
Love the new lift makes things much safer wow that caddy is in amazing shape especially for setting on the floor pan in a mud hole for year's
Well Then looks like a guy is gettin up in the world.....Its mighty uplifting to see that smile on your face....
Congrats!! I will keep them in mind for my next purchase. GREAT - Preassembly of sub-parts
But, watch out for the giant snakes that will leap out at you from the old clunkers on the lift OR the giant radioactive 3 foot RAT jumps on your back OR the giant radioactive Snow Tarantulas that will eat your face.
Congrats on the lift! Every guy needs one, on my wish list as well... 👍
I am very happy you got a quality lift. It’s going to open up a whole world of possibilities. Great vide.
That is a beauty indeed. I can only dream of having one like this here in the UK. I need a decent garage building first, then the cash to buy one of these.
Ravaglioli (IT) or Zippo (Ger)
0:30 besides all the rest you have a beautiful yard there !!!
Blew my mind how much space it is 😲 That would be half a neighborhood where I live
@@rosen9425 I believe he rents that space on someones farm..him and his family live right in town.

Awesome Americans!
Great News!!! happy for you. I'm still crawling on the garage floor 🤣
Me too, rust in my eyes, spiders running past, bashing my head, struggling to get up 🤣
i still roll around in my stone driveway lol ...well i wouldn't say "roll"
That is awesome brother!!! Congrats on the lift! Friggin game changer! I just recently found your channel and have been binge watching all your videos since. Even started using most of your catch phases and custom names for parts. Thank you for the laughs and all the fun content! Keep it up brother, much respect!!! 👊😬👍
Edit/P.S. you should put a link up to their website. I’m gonna go check them out!!
I like to watch while you're teaching your kid. You're setting a really good example

Really happy to hear you’re getting a Lyft! Damn it’s like Christmas!
Wow, The "DREAM"!!! HAVING A GARAGE IS #1 BUT, HAVING A LIFT. INSIDE OF A GARAGE, IS THE ULTIMATE DREAM!!!! CONGRADULATION'S!!!!!!! MOVING ON UP!!!!
