Talk about a candy store! And you thought you weren't buying anything else for the year before you went to this?!?! Thanks for sharing, now I have to... have to... have to... plan to go to the next one! Looking forward to the "haul" video.
@@dagryffynhobby Haha...no purchases count...you are sane and well...it is those that went and didn't buy, buy, buy...those people need help! Can't wait to see what you got!
I haven't been to a train show in a couple of years thanks to covid. They're always fun. Between the new stuff that you've never seen, the old stuff that you've been looking for, the parts you need to get something back on the rails, and the operating layouts on display it's a great day. Thanks for sharing.
Man, Thanks, that was great. I’m really hoping that the Portland, OR show aka The Great Train Show at the Expo Center happens in January 2022. It’s been two show we’ve missed due to COVID. Looking forward to seeing your haul. You know, what you said you wouldn’t do! LOL. Take care Dave. Tim
Thanks! Hope you get to that show in January! 🤞 I’m going to stop saying that I’m done buying, because apparently it isn’t true. I think I was feeling guilty! Now I don’t plan on buying anything else for a while but that doesn’t mean it won’t happen! As long as I can stay off eBay though.
I think there was a fair amount of all scales, I’m just mostly drawn to the old O gauge stuff, so my video probably ends up being a bit biased because of that!
I was at the show and couldn’t believe how many tables were there. You really could have spent a week here. I never seen the whole expo filled with train tables before in my whole life. If you want to buy a set I highly recommend looking up the price on your phone first. I bought a brand new BNSF Lionel LionChief with Remote for 220. I thought that was a good deal as I see a lot of people spend around 260 for the same train. I took it home and it ran like a champ also they had tons of rolling stock. I also bought a couple of tank cars for 20 dollars which I thought was a good deal. When you first walk in it’s like your in Disney world! I highly recommend going to a show.
I totally agree (and sorry I didn’t respond sooner!) when I walked in, I just stood there for a minute or two just taking it in. I hadn’t been to a train show since I was a kid. I love having access to info on the phone when shopping at places like this. Sometimes things just aren’t worth what you think they should be. Glad you enjoyed the show.
I've been lucky enough to visit the Greenberg Edison NJ show twice. (I live in Virginia.) All the Greenberg shows are good, but Edison's the "Gold Standard!"
@@dagryffynhobby Greenberg shows DO come down here to VA and they're worth going to, but none that I've been to equal the Edison show. Stands to reason, up in the Northeast there's a much bigger pool of dealers and exhibitors to draw from. Hobbyists should forget what they've been told, i.e. "Not as big" and just GO!
Oh man! I can’t wait to go to a train show. Looks like you a had a great time. So many deals to be had. There is a small one that is schedule to happen here in MA in early October, mostly HO but some O as well. Then in late Jan there is the Amherst show which is one of the larger ones with multiple buildings filled with layouts and vendors. Sure hope neither of these get canceled again.
@@dagryffynhobby Let me know if you do. It is a fun show filling 3 big buildings. The Big E, a huge fair, is held at the same fairgrounds. I plan to go if it happens. The trip is always my Christmas present from my wife and daughters.

I actually didn’t check the price on those Alcos, sorry, they weren’t what I was looking for. I’ve had a few and they are great, haven’t repainted one yet, but that’s a great idea for a future project.
Boy, i don't know how you restrained yourself from a huge shopping spree. I would have been going crazy! If i brought my wife well i guess i wouldn't have to worry about not being restrained.
Oh I bought more than i let on. I’ll be reviewing all that in the next video. I think it was my son that slowed me down, he was done early, I could have spent a lot more time shopping!

There was an amazing amount of stuff there and like you said, at good prices. I would. have filled up my trunk.
