He is just translating sanskrit shlokas which is written in our Vedas and puranas in Hindi. No one is comparing no one. @@ModernPhysiques listen bro i think i have made this clear that we are not COMPARING any God with anyone. Understanding the nature, qualities and power of all gods is the technicalities of Hinduism. You can say this is where the logic and devotion mix up. Ofcourse as a pure devotee you don't need to know all these things, as a devotee only love and bhakti is enough. But to know god, bhakti is not the only path. Knowledge is one of the paths. And yes all god is one. But the qualities are still different isn't it? Shiva has the quality of destruction while vishnu has quality of maintenance. This is the fact and you can't deny this by saying i am comparing the two. Obviously i am not fool enough to compare them coz they both are the biggest devotees of each other. I am and they are talking about the technicalities and logical side of our religion. And yes i believe God is one.
Talking about vishnu and Krishna. From the start we are taught that krishna is an avatar of vishnu. When it was said, did we say ki why are you comparing the two? No right. We just accepted the fact and worshipped lord Vishnu and krishna equally. Isn't it? Now if some other dimension is coming up saying no, vishnu is the Avatar of krishna, why people are saying ki "they are fooling us" "they are comparing" etc etc. Without verifying the fact once ?
Ofcourse i am also someone who consider every god is equal. And i am not completely convinced that vishnu is Avatar of krishna, but without knowing the real facts and texts i am also not just completely denying the fact. I was want to know what our real texts say. AGAIN I AM NOT COMPARING THE TWO. But as a science student i always want to understand the logical and technical side of our religion.
I love and respect every god equally.
Very confusing. Social media is peppered with arguments opposing this with proof. I'm myself a Krishna Bhakt yet my belief is challenged coming across those contradictions.

These so called preachers are using texts that were modified by iskcon founder Abhay Charan (AKA Prabhupada). They altered the texts in translations (From sanskri to other languages) to change vishnu to krishna as krishna is more appealing because of his story to an outsider(Foreigner). While the cult does do a lot of good things, this shouldnt be encouraged. Hope this helps. Jai Shree Krishna!

These things aren't some mental speculation or concoctions that, on their own, one puts Lord Krishna's name just like that on a whim. There are scriptural references given, and it comes from bona fide Vedic scriptures. Also, the knowledge that you are getting from ISKCON or Prabhupada is passed on from the Brahma-Gaudiya sampradaya which is one of the 4 bonafide and authentic vaishanava sampradayas in the world.
So as part of the parampara, this knowledge is passed down from generation to generation as it is without any modification. Like ISKCON there are other Vaishnava sampradayas who preach the exact same message, so it's not like Prabhupada has modified or put his thoughts here. Hence, it's called Bhagavad Gita "as it is" because it is presented without any modifications. Jai Shri Krishna!

The 4 official sampradayas are bonafide in nature and they pass on the knowledge from generation to generation "As it is" without any adulteration. Lord Krishna in Bhagavad Gita says in BG 4.2 :-
evam parampara-praptam
imam rajarsayo viduh
sa kaleneha mahata
yogo nastah parantapa
TRANSLATION
This supreme science was thus received through the chain of disciplic succession, and the saintly kings understood it in that way. But in course of time the succession was broken, and therefore the science as it is appears to be lost.
So Lord says that this supreme science of Bhagavad Gita is received through disciplic succession as part of the tradition in a parampara system. As I said before, there are 4 bonafide sampradayas who pass on this original knowledge without any adulteration. If you are busy quoting other authors who don't belong to these institutions per say then it's not a valid argument then.

The guest has done his research. He did his bachelor's degree in Sanskrit making him efficient and able to understand scriptures better than 99% of entire world's population. Mind you, he has been reading scriptures in it's original form and not the translated versions which most of us do.
He is telling the verse number in the scripture as proof because he has gone through the scriptures many many times. He is not telling anything cooked up in his mind.
Of course only few of us are aware of rich knowledge our scriptures contains, hence the doubts are natural.

Let's discuss from Srimad Bhagavatam a scripture held as satyam by many sampradays.
kṛṣṇas tu bhagavān svayam
Indicates that Lord Krsna is that "Bhagavan" from 1.3.1 who expanded into the Purusa. This verse 1.3.28 is known as "The power of a formal declaration (pratijñā) to override other statements" This is the assertion of the Gaudiya to prove the supremacy of Sri Krishna. BUT...there is a verse 1.3.2 says;
"In the nineteenth and twentieth incarnations, the Lord advented Himself as Lord Balarāma and Lord Kṛṣṇa " (1.3.23)
The above verse clearly indicates that the Lord came as Krsna which means a "avatara".
The Ramanujas (Sri Vaishnavas) interprets differently.They said 1.3.23 already indicates that Sri Krishna (rāma-kṛṣṇāv) is an incarnation (avatara).Verse 1.3.27 was speaking about rishis, devathas, Manus and prajapatis as being a partial incarnation or hamsa of Lord meaning he gives some of his qualities to a jiva(atma). Hence in the very next verse(1.3.28) it says "the above-mentioned incarnations" referring to those hamsa incarnation like devathas and Manus, in comparison to them, Sri Krishna is a full incarnation or God himself.
The key-point to note here is in Gaudiya interpretation "bhagavan svayam" refers ONLY to Sri Krishna in comparison to all hamsa and also the full avataras like Narashima and Sri Rama etc. While the Ramanuja interpretation, "bhagavn svayam" refers to Sri Krishna in comparison with the Hamsa plenary portion or portions of the plenary portions indicating only Rishis, Manus devathas etc and does NOT include the other avataras who are already considered as "bhagavan svayam". 1.3.28 was only referring to 1.3.27 by these verses "All of the above-mentioned incarnations are either plenary portions or portions of the plenary portions of the Lord" which indicates only rishis,manus,prajapathis and devathas. Thus in comparison to them (rishis,manus etc) Sri Krishna is Bhagavan himself.
We can see, in the scholarly translation of Bhagavatam by C.L Goswami of Gita Press;
1.3.27-28 reads as follows;
"The sages and seers, the Manus, the gods, the sons of Manus, the Prajapatis, in-fact all those who possess great power, are rays of Sri Hari. All these, however are either part manifestations or rays of the Supreme Person; While Sri Krishna is the Lord Himself"
The Ramanuja school have a very valid point here.I would say a proper interpretation of the mentality behind what Suta Goswami was trying to imply.

Then Vishnu's 3 forms are the explanation of his tattva from his main form to spread across universes in his second form and in every atom as the final expansion - this shows his all-expansive or all-pervasive tattva which is a meaning of Vishnu.
The 4 vyuha roopas are the performing aspects of Vishnu (Vasudeva, Sankarshana, Pradyumna and Aniruddha), the names are based on the Vrishni heroes - but are again forms of Vishnu or Krishna depending on which school you follow. The classification of avataras which he talked about also are applicable to Vishnu, but they will again be the secondary expansion of Krishna for Krishna followers considering that Vishnu is a form of Krishna (which are both fine based on whom you consider as base form).
The various puranas and upa-puranas pick up an aspect of the supreme paramatma as their primary god for that epic (some look at all gods as different aspects of same god which is the essential essence of Vedas) - be it Vishnu, Siva, Devi, Krishna and so on.
I believe Krishna as an avatara of Vishnu, but understand that they are entitled to their beliefs as per their sampradaya. But I don't agree on above points.
There is no sampradaya, it is just a group of corporates trying to mislead others by creating a new interpretation of our ancient scriptures.

There is no difference between Lord Vishnu and Bhagwan Krishna. Bhagwan Krishna is the complete incarnation of Lord Vishnu that's why he is the supreme.
In none of the Vedas the name Krishna is mentioned (Btw I am a devotee of Krishna so no hates). Better do a thing. Study sanskrit first and you yourself translate them. Then you will come to an understanding.
In Bhagavad Gita, lord Krishna said that he was the supreme self. That doesn't mean that he is only Krishna. For eg. you in your previous birth and the you now, arent different i.e same soul. Similarly the lord in his transcedental form is Vishnu and in this world he changed his form into Krishna.
You can find evidence for the above words.
In Bhagavad Gita, Arjuna himself addressed the lord as Vishnu many times in vishwaroop darshan chapter. He also said that he was able to see Brahma and Rudra besides him. But he didn't say he was able to see lord Vishnu anywhere over there. Because he knew that he was none other than lord Vishnu.
I think these proofs from Bhagavad Gita is enough, since it is the most authentic text given by the Supreme personality of Godhead.
Conclusion:
Lord krishna and lord Vishnu are same.

After looking every god in Hinduism I feel that all gods are adulterous. They are not really god is as a god should be. I am talking about Krishna specially.
