In none of the Vedas the name Krishna is mentioned (Btw I am a devotee of Krishna so no hates). Better do a thing. Study sanskrit first and you yourself translate them. Then you will come to an understanding. In Bhagavad Gita, lord Krishna said that he was the supreme self. That doesn't mean that he is only Krishna. For eg. you in your previous birth and the you now, arent different i.e same soul. Similarly the lord in his transcedental form is Vishnu and in this world he changed his form into Krishna. You can find evidence for the above words. In Bhagavad Gita, Arjuna himself addressed the lord as Vishnu many times in vishwaroop darshan chapter. He also said that he was able to see Brahma and Rudra besides him. But he didn't say he was able to see lord Vishnu anywhere over there. Because he knew that he was none other than lord Vishnu. I think these proofs from Bhagavad Gita is enough, since it is the most authentic text given by the Supreme personality of Godhead. Conclusion: Lord krishna and lord Vishnu are same.

According to Rigveda "yah purvyaya vedhase naviyase sumajjanaye visnave dadasati | yo jatam asya mahato mahi bravat sed u sravobhir yujyam cidabhy asat". also in shrimad bhagwatam it is written"krishna tu bhagwan swayam" (1.2.38).so undoubtedly he is supreme lord of the universe.
