So I think Joe could just find another vocalist for harsh vocals, he doesn’t seem to be stuck to Dave. I think Joe actually made that decision to proceed with softer style overall, and missing growls is just a consequence of that. Oh and also - you still hear male vocals underneath Mels singing, I believe that’s Dave
@@angryktulhu I honestly think it has more to do with the characters being portrayed in the last couple of albums. The albums with Dave's growls have primarily focused on Amyntas and the Solider of Old Earth, while lately we've been getting more from the perspective of Alithea and Enyo. I'm pretty sure that once Amyntas comes back to center stage, we'll get the growls back. After all, while Mel typically sings the parts of both Alithea and Enyo, the part of Enyo being sang by Anna Hel in Siege shows that they aren't opposed to harsh vocals, but that it's a stylistic choice for the current albums. I'd bet money that we'll get Dave's growls back before the story is concluded.
@@Dreznin I sure hope so. But to my ears, it's not just about the vocals, the music itself seems a bit uninspired lately. Like 4 or 5 songs on the new album seem to have basically the same riffs and drums, and just vary a bit in the vocal melodies and other elements. But they're otherwise nearly the same song. Same for much of telesterion and siege. It seems like just a backdrop for the story telling rather than individual songs. You could switch around most of the songs on the last three albums and it'd be hard to tell which was misplaced. Progenitor, for example, had much more variety. Every song sounded distinct and every song sounded like it belonged on progenitor. It's still great music, but it's a bit lackluster compared to previous efforts.
"You must begin to look at this different," sounds like Alithea talking to Amyntas. This whole songs like her trying to convince him to help her seek vengeance against Empyrean for what they did, or perhaps the two of them simply agreeing that vengeance must be their goal.
I am so excited for this. Siege was SUCH a good album on it's own (even though we are all missing the harsh vocals) and even better with that flawless transition back into Acheron. I am also loving the different styles of percussion you have been playing with. I am VERY hyped.
This is very promising for the new album. The music is emotional and powerful and the mix is much better, which allows the music to breathe (more so than was the case on Telesterion and Siege). Also, this is one of the best lyric videos I've seen (so many details!). Great work, Joe and the rest of Mechina's crew.

This is amazing.....I really can't believe that this band always tops the bar with new music each time. I honestly love the different feel that this song has and I can't wait for the new album. I think Dave's and Mel's vocals work perfectly together harmonically. The riffs....unbelievable!!! It's so different than what we usually hear. Amazing track, amazing track, amazing track.

Let us know what’s going on. Don’t leave us hanging. That would make me think “oh, that’s a shame. But it’s ok, I understand” and probably enjoy it a lot more. But the silence is just suspicious.

One hell of a catchy track, I'm eager to hear more. And the atmosphere reminds me of... Old goth metal a bit? At times the keys sound like something from older Sirenia records. I dig this!

These doubled vocals are extremely annoying to listen to. The only enjoyable parts are in The Embers of old Earth where Dave at least growls all on his own. The album also lacks major hooks. The melodies just wail forth and forth without any dynamics. No highs and lows. Pass.
I'll be honest, I'm hoping that I might be correct in saying that, based on the lyrics, it could be the long-awaitrd continuation from Xenon. That, or it could be between Telesterion and Siege, since we still don't really know what the hell happened to lead Enyo to want to kill an entire planet
Well as Worf would say "You're not Klingon. That is why you have no Honor!" Good song though. Sounds amazing but knowing the mythology and history, you mess with a man's honor and there'll be hell to pay the likes of which even the Romans and their entire Empire feared. Nifty tune, guys 👍
Really digging the tempo, this is a groovy little jam For those that are more musically trained, is this in 3/4 or 6/8 maybe? I get the feeling that the time signature is different than the standard 4/4
They should do better music videos man, this band have the potential to create a really well done detailed sci-fi music video that will set a new trend in metal and will be an standard forever.
@@Stroodle01588 only word i hear Dave louder is "skin". I like this music, its very catchy, very good, but very different from the Mechina i fell in love with. Impact Proxy cannot be topped.
The song is more tolerable without Dave if you put it in -2 semitones and make it 10% faster. My problem with Mel is that, outside of The Worst in Us, she's unable to set a melancholic tone to fit in with Mechina's theme of religious abandonment and revenge.

Definitely more 3/4. Usually 6/8 has a 1-2 feel rather than 1 - 2 - 3 like this song has. I think it’s easier to tell listening to the hi hat
