I'd leave the stingray emblems. Stingray is an iconic brand.. I've had friends that are not Vette nerds say how cool the "Stingray" name is. But it looks awesome overall.. love the red and black.. chrome is so 80s.
LOOKS GREAT. My dream car. Only difference for me would be the red interior leather! Other than that it's perfect! I'm saving up for the downpayment. $45k is what I think I can afford for the C7.

Doesn't matter if base or z06 lol? That's like saying don't care if I get base civic or type r. A z06 is a completely different car than c7 stingray. But if you want to believe they're similar as long as they're red then more power to ya. I would be so disappointed to have a base over z06

I love all the should have just got the grand sport or z06 comments lol. First off Grand Sports aren’t worth the money. They are cool cars but you wanna talk about a z06 wannabe that’s literally what that car is lol. Guys any model of stingray is still exotic looking and going to get attention. This base Stingray is badass. I have a z51 with almost the very same upgrades but mine has ZR1 wheels and splitter. I’m gonna be honest I test drove the z06 and it wouldnt hook for sh!t even after warming up the tires. I was more impressed with an NA z51 stingray with cam and headers. What good is that power if you can’t plant it lol. You did good man car looks great and hot color 👌🏽
Jesus releax, I just purchased a 2017 grand sport. I love the looks, can't quite afford the z06, know I have no use for 650 hp. It's it's own car, just like the stingray is, just like the z06 is. I had this same bullshit when I drove an STI. Guys with a WRX would put an STI wing on it & I would say "looks awesome man" not "you wannabe!!!!"
You can make a stingray a Z06 + some, folks that say why not just get this or that, maybe can’t even afford a Stingray to begin with, some folks can’t afford the Z06 up front so get the base & build it up once you have the money for parts to build it up, simple.
I would not buy a base car without Z51 and magnetic ride.

Great video! One of the boldest upgrades on my C7 was installation of Victor racing Smart active wing.
Enjoyed the video. I have taken the same approach with my C6 and C7. I made the car unique and have won several car shows for that reason, besides the fact that the C7 is a 2016 has low milage and looks brand new. I have subscribed so looking forward to more videos like this one!

It actually added to the value. It has sold and the mods that were done added value. Not as much as was spent but a fair amount over a standard 1LT C7. Plus he enjoyed it while he owned it.
Is the Carbon Fiber in the interior aftermarket? if so, where from? Looks good… I got some but seems to be a bit too… glossy for me personally…
No. It was added later but it is GM OEM Stock. Not from an aftermarket company.
What make people cover the tag up? just a question. I never cover mine and I wish MF would.

Why would you put a phone clip on a car that has Apple CarPlay?
Me personally, I prefer to work through my phone and it’s a good place to hold your phone. My C7 also did not have wireless car play. My C8 does but I still prefer to have my phone in a holder. Just preference I guess. Plus it charges faster there than in the silly GM charger that is nearly behind you.

Where the specs on the rims?
20x12 in the rear 19x10” in the front?
Not sure. This is not my car. I do know they’re 20 and 19. They’re Z06 replicas for a Stingray.
How much cash was spent on these modifications? $
It's hard to say because ACS gives us discounts on their accessories. Plus this was done over a 2 year period. The dash was $750. A GM part. MGW gear shifter was $350. You can find pricing to ACS products at ACSComposite.com. The wheels are from Corvette World Dallas.
Where is your shop? I see you do ceramic coating. C.C. makes a huge difference in my opinion.
@@FrontSeatDriver I'm in northwest Indiana. Ceramic Coatings are a must for ease of maintenance washing and gloss retention IMO. Love the car BTW!
Are you using Z06 wheels/tires or are those stingray sized reps? If you are using Z06 wheels did you change all 4 fenders to avoid rubbing/fitment issues?

Hi, I noticed you removed the airbag decals. Did you have any issue completely removing the adhesive? I have watched a few videos and would like to remove them but it seems like some people don’t know how to do it correctly. Yours looks perfect!

it's actually funny how you say that you build your own car the way you want it, and then you say that you wanted chrome from the beginning, but then went black because everybody else do that, that is not building your car the way you want it! but it look nice.
Sometimes people don’t relay their intent when doing videos. I know he liked chrome until he started seeing black on everyone’s cars and it changed his opinion of chrome but your point is correct on what he actually said.

I gotta know where he gets (or got at this point 2 years later) his inspected lol. Have 2017 z51 and GR86 with 12.5% :D and it has been "difficult" to find registered businesses these days to pass inspection simply due to damn interior protection tint! maddening. Steve likes it so…I guess it works for him. I can’t say. Never had one.
I have a Vitesse controller on mine. Originally had it on my 2016 V6 Camaro where it made a HUGE difference. I emailed them and said they'd re-flash for the Vette for like $25 (was awhile back, fuzzy memory but was cheap) if I sent it back to them. Usually keep it set @ 4 outta 9 levels. Instant throttle response, no lag or feeling like you're towing a boat when accelerating at less than 1/2 throttle. Takes the low end reduced/curved throttle response (fuel saving attempt by GM) and straightens it out to just about linear. Highly recommended.
imho and in one word : frustration... dripping from every sentence and every mod.
In my actual knowledge. 1 word. Incorrect. I can understand your feeling but I know him and that is incorrect. It’s like when I had my Lamborghini Gallardo. Would I have been happier with a Huracan? Sure. Was I frustrated I didn’t have one? No. I could have bought a Huracan but I just didn’t want to spend more than I did because I have other investments that mean more to me. I believe frustration comes in living paycheck to paycheck no matter what you possess.

Rest assured speaking from experience no matter what you spend on the car and even had you spent more for a Z06 you'd still be looking at mods. Not that the car needs anything to be satisfying, perform, or look great but it's just the way some of us are wired. I find myself trying to figure out how to get one of Vengeance Racing's packages and they are NOT cheap but I gotta have that cam lope.
You are 100% correct.
Good point....I just got a Z51 3LT and I still want to do some of the stuff in this video.....regardless of the trim, you'll still want to make it your own eventually....I guess the lower trim just gives you a more blank of a canvas, but some of the add ons the higher trims give you won't be easy or cheap to add - I prefer some of those to be on my canvas to start with.
