The first time hearing Bartok, the first time seeing Cezanne, the first time …. An artist must have the courage to explore. This “clash” of form and finish reminds us how an artist can pry open expectations of our minds. This unique piece exposes us to a trailblazing effort. Hurray!
Hurray, indeed!!! Many many thanks for such support along this blazing trail! 😅💙🙏
...or the first time hearing Joni Mitchell's *Court and Spark* album after her initial run of acoustic albums. Great way of putting it, Jim!
@@spotterofgold OMG I am transported to 1975 where as a 10 year old I listened to this for countless hours on repeat! Thank you.
You did not do this! OMGoodness what a great project! Genius 😮🎉❤
You ask, “Fabulous? Or odd?” I say, “Fabulously odd and I love it!” Your wonderful, creative and informative videos just make my day!! Thanks!
Wow, thank you so much! I absolutely love how you put that. 😊💙💗💚🧡💛
I am sitting here in tears.
I LOVE color, pattern AND floral!!!! I am really so tired of seeing moody dark, boring white, black.. ect.
I am SO INSPIRED!!! My home will always be color filled because it brings me so much joy. And your little table made me tear up at the reveal. Thank you for such beautiful inspiration 😘 💕 ❤️ 💖 💗 💜
Hooray!!! SO FANTASTIC to hear this, thanks so much, Vicki!! My sentiments exactly - color brings so much happiness...why not rejoice in it? 😊💙💗💚🧡💛
Gorgeous! I can see it in an all neutral room just making a bang!
Thanks, Helena! Love that. 😊
Oh yeah!!!
I can see that in someone's sun room. It's a very happy table! If you wanted more blue to come through you could have covered some of the leaves with tape and not paint them.
Thanks, Anita! Yes indeed - very good idea! 😊💙
I am shaking my head in disbelief imagining the hours you put into stenciling that. Wow, respect for your perseverance and patience and art.
Many thanks, truly appreciate hearing that!
Where have all the flowers gone.........gone to tables, every one!!!! What a beauty!!!! I many just do something like this.....Thank you, Andy!!
Lol, love that! Thank you so much 😊
😮 She’s a looker! ❤❤ This table will bring some real cheer into whatever room it winds up in! What a labor of love, she will be adored by her person!
SO awesome to hear that, thanks so much!
I absolutely love how the flow of creativity gets easier and more fluid as you gain confidence.
Thank you, lovely to hear that!
It’s oddly fabulous! 😜 I love your Etsy idea, and I think your reasoning on the price is right on. Somewhere out there is the perfect space in the perfect home where the perfect person to adore this piece is waiting to find it.
Thanks so much, Shari - you put that so perfectly!! 😊💙💗💚🧡💛
I am so excited about the Etsy store. Living on the opposite coast means no possibility of ever owning one of her wonderful creations. With an Etsy store, it might be possible!
I THINK IT IS ABSOLUTELY STUNNING!!! I HOPE YOU KEEP IT FOR YOURSELF. YOU DESERVE TO BE ABLE TO LOOK AT IT EVERY DAY AND SMILE . I LOVE IT! GOD BLESS😊❤️🙏🏻🌻
Many thanks, Ruth! 😊💗
Your side table makeover is far from odd. As a teenager in the late '60s and early 70s I saw many creative artists painting tables and other items in patterns similar to yours. Your table took me back to that more carefree time of my life. Your audible reaction to what you were creating spoke volumes. Never worry about how others will react - create what you love and you will find that those creations will bring joy to others also.
LOVE this, thanks so much, Denise! You are absolutely right. 😊💗💙💚💛🧡
I'm 60 years old and I love it!!!!!
Yay, so awesome to hear that!! Thanks so much!!
This table is a work of art! You should be very proud. Will it appeal to everyone? No. The person who does buy it will appreciate the time and effort it took. Price it accordingly.
Oh, and price it for $400-$500.00.
So awesome to hear that, thank you so much!
This beautiful piece brought my thoughts back to the 1960’s. My mother was a seamstress and made me a beautiful umpire line dress with a similar fabric - navy blue with tiny flowers all over. It was one of my favorite. Love this end table so much. Love the idea of you opening an Etsy store 🌼🌸🌺
Hooray! So great to hear that, and thank you for sharing. 😊💗🙏
Oh Andy! It is FABULOUSLY odd! And I mean that in the most positive of ways. So much so…, that I am inspired to create one of my own. I have a LONG, blank and barren beige wall, that is screaming for an anchor piece, just like that. My colors would be different, but it needs something bold. I will be combing the thrift stores, for just the right piece. Will keep you posted. Thank you for your never ending inspiration. Your little table is a masterpiece! I too love it!
HOORAY!! Many thanks, Joyce - that is so awesome to hear!! Best of luck, can't wait to hear about what you create! 😊💙💗💚🧡💛
Not at all my style, nothing I'd have in my own home. That said, WOW! I think it's just a fantastic work of art, dare I say museum worthy. Congratulations on even thinking of finishing a mid-century dentist's office waiting room side table like this, and then executing it with such skill. Brava, lady!
Wow, thanks so much!
Well done! Definately 50's meets 60's! Love it! 😁❤
Yay, thanks Margaret! 😊💙💗💚🧡💛
Not going to lie... at first I thought, "why on Earth...?" But now that it's done I can think of all sorts of places she would fit in! Lovely!
Love that! (and totally get it) 😊 Thanks so much!
I loved it and I love watching your videos.
Yay! Thank you so much, Candace - that is so wonderful to hear. 😊💙💗💚🧡💛
Holy Lilly Pulitzer vibes!! 🌸🌺🌼
I have a water damaged MCM side table, and you have inspired me to do something similar!!
I'm so glad! Thanks so much!!
Love it❣️ Someone will appreciate all your HOURS and Enjoy this Sweet Table for Years! It is a Work of Art‼️
Wow, thank you so much, Patti!
Yes yes yes, open your Etsy shop!! I've had mine for 2 years and it's really the only way to get our "different" takes on furniture in front of enough eyes to find their perfect owners! Best of luck!
Great to hear, thanks so much Leora!! 😊💙💗💚🧡💛
Ooo, reminds me of Mackenzie-Childs pieces. That must have taken a looooong time. Will look good in a funky mom cave. 👍
Thanks so much, Kim! I agree. 😊💙💗💚
I totally agree that it’s cool, with a few stripes here and there it would totally be a Makenzie Child. One Million Dollars 😁
Woo-hoo! Thanks so much!
Well Andy, I think you succeeded in having the right crazy to tackle this fable. Cats have away of inspiring their caretaker that way. Your right, it's not for everyone and that's okay. Please update us on the side tables story when it finds its forever home.
Lol, they do indeed! Thanks so much - I will definitely keep you updated!
What a lesson on patients an pulling from my wild side. I can see this in an entrance with its big smile an hug for all that come to visit.
LOVE how you put that, thanks so much Barbara! 😊💙💗💚🧡💛
Loved watching you create this piece. There is someone out there that will appreciate it just as much as we all do.
Thanks so much, Carol, so great to hear that!!
I agree with you completely. This table is not for everyone but that is what is perfect about it. If a person is seeking a Pottery Barn (no offense to Pottery Barn) mass-manufactured standard piece, this will not appeal. If you have a love of florals and chintz and you have an eye for a unique and well done piece and you can find a spot to set it off... then this piece is magnificent. I LOVE seeing your different ideas of what can be done to make furniture your own. To stretch your wings and be exactly who you are and find joy in simple pieces of furniture... that is what makes your channel SOAR! Beautiful job and thank you for taking us down a beautiful spring path during this long winter.
WOW, thanks so much - I love how you put this! Many many thanks!! 😊💙💗💚🧡💛
You are the best Andy. I am sure you will find the right buyer, if you haven’t already! Love what you do and who you are! 💜
Wow, thanks so much, that is so wonderful to hear! 😊💗💙💚💛🧡
This table reminds me of the work of Peter Hunt. Very whimsical but also sophisticated. Love it!
Lovely to hear that, thank you!
I miss you Andy. You have created, like the artist you are such a fun & heartwarming saga. I start missing your comedic brilliance & Hope your posting a new one soon. Thanks for all the hard work & editing you do! Ready for my next fix. Lol
Wow, thank you, Sheila! I miss being here too. I think I'll be back not this, but next Saturday! Truly appreciate your kind words, that means so much!
Yes it is fabulous!!! Watching you create this treasure was amazing.
Hooray!! So awesome to hear that, thanks Renee!! 😊💙💗💚🧡💛
Wow! That was an amazing amount of work. When you pulled the stencil off the first area, I had the same reaction you did! It was beautiful. You are right, this would is the kind of small project to do in winter. Thanks for sharing. Anne
Thanks so much! Great to hear. 😊
I don't think I would have the patience for this. I enjoy watching the videos of other people, though. It looks so lovely.
Totally get that! Thank you! 😊
Andy: You knocked that ball out of the ballpark and into the next galaxy! I was getting higher with each stencil lift and I say go for the Etsy shop and the premium price. Wow. Big happy grin on my face. That was an exhilarating experience! And I agree with Jim Horner's comment one hundred percent!
YAHOOOO!!! Wow, thanks so much!! SO encouraging to hear - truly appreciate it!! 😊💗💙💚💛🧡
My Mom says it would fit perfectly for Goldie Hawn during her "Laugh-In" Era.......and I agree. Total CHIC Swinging 60's----our opinion. And it was fun seeing someone applying the 'sponge' effect again...have always enjoyed sponging. :) Another fun video..
Love that! Thanks so much!!
Brief history lesson from one of your "older" fans: It's a telephone table. The dial phone sat on the upper portion and the telephone directory sat on the main level underneath. That left the rest of the main surface for an ash tray (required back then!) or candy dish. The bottom level was for the latest issue of "Look" or "Life" Magazine. Yeah, I'm a child of the 50s and 60s. 😉 Gorgeous job, by the way! ❤ As labor-intensive as it was, I figured you'd charge about a million dollars. 😂
LOVE that history lesson! Many thanks, Marcia - I can see it styled now with a vintage copy of LIFE. 😊💗💙💚💛🧡
Joyous...that's the word! I find myself smiling throughout your videos 😊
YAY! So wonderful to hear! Many thanks, Carolyn!
I have never seen anything like this before. Would never have thought it up myself. Would never have ever even considered it. But, boy what a mistake that would have been. Your end table is fantastic!!! Thank you 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏💕👏💕👏💕 I absolutely love this 🙏💕💕
Hooray! So wonderful to hear this, thank you so much, Laurie!
So cute! And so much work.... Nice to see a colorful, over-the-top piece of furniture for a change. With all the dark gloomy days in my neck of the woods, seeing flowers so bright and colorful made me so cheerful. You did a beautiful job and I hope you get a good piece of change for this lovely table.
Thanks so much, Sydni!
This table makeover makes me smile!!!
Looking forward to seeing your next makeover. Love your channel!
Thanks so much! 😊
I'm a chintz fan as well! Love this piece! The flowers made me happy, happy! Great job!
Hooray! Thanks, Sandy!
All I can say is WOW!!! Love it! What a beautiful idea.
Yay! Many thanks, Paula, so great to hear!
Wow! That was a lot of work! It’s really a statement piece. Beautiful job.
Thank you so much!
It turned out great!😊 that is a truck load o’ patience, too! ❤❤
Lol, you are correct! Many thanks, Ruth!!
You are right, it’s elevated and an art piece. You have inspired me to take a chance and be bold🎉 and that is what art should accomplish. Thank you for sharing you vision
SO fantastic to hear this!! Many thanks, Catherine! 😊💙💗💚🧡💛
Cutest dang thing! Your patience and perseverance never ceaces to amaze me!
Many thanks!!
It’s definitely 60’s flower power! 🌺🌹🌼💮
Truth! Thanks!
I agree, it's fabulous. Sort of Mad Men meets English Cottage. Certainly a lovely one of a kind peice of Art by Andy. I would gladly whip out my credit card for it. Well done.
Wow, so great to hear! Many many thanks!! 😊💗💙💚💛🧡
A true labour of love...I love floral ethnic. I have two Sami hats from Lapland and I hang Suzani throws on the walls.
I love the table [but I might have left the legs in the interesting shades of blue, because it is much harder to get the clarity of stencil you achieved on the table tops.]You certainly brought out a beautiful and original piece, like a small bejewelled table-very special! And worth those hours and hours of intricate work. Don't sell yourself short with your fabulous artistry!
So lovely to hear - thanks so much!!
Whew, that was a lot of work! The table is very charming.
Thanks so much!!
I love your channel. I love your sense of humor. I love that you think outside the box with your artistry. It's a trifecta!!!
Woo-hoooo! Thanks so much, that is so great to hear!!
My sister in her hippie days would have loved it!!! Nice work Andy❤
Lol, HOORAY!! Many thanks!!
That table is not only cool, but one could even say that it's groovy! That's right, it's groovy, baby! It's oddly fabulous and unique. It will speak to someone, and Etsy would be the ideal platform to reach that very someone. Good luck with the launch of your Etsy store, Andy! Looking forward to the next installment of Furniture Fables!
Thanks so much Brenda!! Should be back next Saturday!
Wow! You have the patience of a saint!
Beautiful!!!! ❤️
Thank you! 😊
Wowas what a happy creative design you came up with , Floral Riot is AWESOME 😊
Thank you so much! 😊
Hello Andy. What a beautiful job you did. I know it took awhile. Well done!! Beautiful colors.🥰🥰🥰🥰
Thanks so much, Teresa!
I think it turned out beautiful! The pattern and your choice of colors seem perfect for this odd-shaped table. I loved your choice of music as well.
Thank you so much!
it's COOL! Great gutsy move Andy.
Yay! Many thanks. 😊
A work of ART! You have so much patience Andy!
Wow, thank you very much!!
Having worked in a China and fabric store; I understand the draw of Chintz patterns. For me; sometimes I like a tight pattern, sometimes a looser pattern. I think the base colour is the deciding factor as to if it's beautiful or " just too much". I love cobalt blue and your stencil is a pretty pattern. Overall; I love your little table. I'm kind of conservative,so I might not have stenciled as much of the table as you did. I might have left the legs a solid colour.... Maybe a lighter colour for the contrast. I really love the shape/ lines of the table itself too. Great job,Andy! You are a wonderful inspiration to me. I'm itching to start some of my own furniture projects ( as well as my gardening ). I look forward to your next project.
Love your ideas, thanks Wendy!
I think you did such a good job and like you said it's not childish. I know that there's a lot of pearl clutching about painting vintage or antique furniture, but if you're keeping it out of the landfill it's already a win.
I was wondering about your time spent dabbing paint all over that table! My shoulder was throbbing just thinking about it! 😂
LOL, yes - I should have used a large sponge! Thanks so much!
I just adore it! I say this in almost every comment I leave for you but you've just got such an eye. I don't doubt that one day you'll have a furniture line, either your own or a collab with someone famous, they've just got to find you! That price is great, you won't find anything with this amount of (amazing) work for garage sale prices. Very much looking forward to your etsy store!!!
Wow, thank you so so much!! SO encouraging to hear this!!! 😊💗💙💚💛🧡😊
You might be a tad crazier than “the right amount of crazy” but I love it! That little table has so much happy going on, how could anyone hate on it?
Lol, thanks!
Awesome, Awesome I love Laura Ashley fabrics and Mario Buatta the King of chintz and polished cotton fabrics, you knocked it out of the park Andy good luck for a handsome price for this little jewel, Love Etsy know you will do well
Many thanks, Candace!
Oh my goodness, Andy!!! This piece is absolutely spectacular!!! I watch UA-cam videos on my tv so I'm only able to like and not comment but I had to open up my computer and get on here and comment on this beauty! I love that you think outside the box with colour. I come from a very colourful province on the east coast of Canada so this piece speaks to me and looks like a piece of home! Wow.... I commend your dedication to 12 hours of stenciling!!! I think all of your work is beautiful and I think this piece is one of my favourites! I would have a hard time giving this piece up but I'd be interested in hearing if it finds a new home. It's a masterpiece! 💖👏👏👏
WOW! Thanks SO MUCH!! Truly appreciate you taking the time to open the laptop, (I like watching UA-cam on our tv as well, lol) and that is so cool this reminds you of home! I will for sure keep you and everyone up on what becomes of this one. Again, many many thanks! 😊💗💙💚💛🧡
It doesn't fit into my current style, but it's unique and makes me happy looking at it. I'm going to copy on of the other comments and go with FABULOUSLY ODD. Bravo!!!! 👏 👏 👏
So cool of you to say, thanks so much!!
Have you lost your mind! Honestly, the table is amazing. A lot of work but your dedication is an inspiration. I was thinking for the top level, some crackle would have added another dimension. Good job!
Lol, thanks so much! Cool idea...😊
It's amazing, so creative, not for every taste but then nothing is - it's what makes life interesting. You took a very blah and sad looking piece that surely would have been discarded and turned it into something that someone will treasure, well done!
Great to hear that - thanks so much!!
This is an amazing piece ❤ I’m quite sure that it is a phone table from when phones were big and phone books even bigger. The phone belonged on the higher part of the table - the phone book underneath and the space next to it was for sitting down for a longer conversation. 😊😊
Thanks so much! Yes, I think you are right. ☎️😊
Admit it! You're in Love! Keep it as your statement piece for your etsy Store! You deserve it!
Thank you so much, Jeannie - maybe that's the thing to do! 😅💗😊
Started the video convinced I’d be unhappy with the final result as I generally don’t love painted furniture. Ended up loving the piece and feeling inspired to make something similar for my home. Really well done!
WOW! That is so great to hear, thanks so much!
That is such a happy table!
Absolutely! Thanks, Moranda! 😊💙💗💚🧡
Beautifully ❤️ done! Keeping track of the paint colors seemed might be difficult 🤔! But you did it! Amazingly well! You gave me inspiration to do the same! Love ❤️ your furry friend! Keep the fables coming! Enjoy them so much!
Thank you!
Debra
Thank you so much, so glad you enjoyed, Debra! 😀
You went all in on this. I really like this piece. It almost has a pop art quality to it.
Yay, so great to hear you are seeing that! Many thanks!
The time that took (& not including the drying time, I am sure!) plus your attention to detail probably means you'll never recoup the actual cost but I am sure you will come close. There are a lot of people who love one-off pieces - one of a kind - that are unique and will pay to get them. I can see someone using this gorgeous girl as THEIR muse to design their living room or even bedroom around. It may not sell fast but if you have the time (& space to store it meantime) then you will get your price ❤ I love it!
Thanks so much, this is such an encouraging and insightful comment, truly appreciate it!
How fun is that! Thanks so much for daring and for sharing.
You are so welcome, thanks so much, Barbie!
The 80's are back, like totally fur sure! This is not my style but it screams florescent leg warmers and big hair styles! This is perfect for a girls room with Wham! and Madonna posters on the wall. Eccentric all the way!
I loved your reaction when you pulled off the stencil the first time. Satisfaction guaranteed. I am sure this was so relaxing. Well done, You. Always push the limits with your craft.
LOL, love this! 😂 Thanks so much. 😎
It’s FABULOUS!! I would love that In my home. Especially knowing the story of how it came to be-your vintage dish “interest” aka collecting of fine China/dish ware and your love of Chinz and especially the darling vintage piece that kitty PURPOSELY broke 😢.haha. There is something about know a pieces History or how it came to be that is really appealing to me. I am naturally drawn to those pieces. And this turned out just PERFECT!! A Masterpiece! I REALLY LOVE IT. And I really appreciate the time that went into it. Knowing this, I know it would see in a heart beat on Etsy. The perfect buyer or 10 will be bidding to get it. Good luck with it, and please let us know it works out. I’d really be interested in hearing.
Wow, thank you so much Kristin! You sound like me - I love knowing the history and the story behind the special things in our lives...And I'm so honored you feel this is a masterpiece! Truly appreciate hearing that! If I end up trying my hand at Etsy, I will for sure let you all know! 💙😊
Love, LOve, LOVE this!
BRAVO Darling!
🌸🌺🌼
YAY!! Many many thanks, Kat!! 😊💗💙💚💛🧡
I love green, so I think it looks fabulous.
Yay!
Absolutely stunning... and herculean patience... I'd just stenciled random areas with different patterns.
Many thanks Christi! 😊💙💗💚🧡💛
At first I was doubting you! But I should have known better. It suits your vibrant personality and is unique and artistic which is exactly furniture art is all about! Well done 👏
Hooray! Many thanks!
Fabulous! I love it!!!
Yay! Thank you!
Oh I love it!! That is such a perfect stencil! You did a beautiful job on it. It would be hard to give up something like that for me . Absolutely beautiful!
YAY! Thanks so much, Sheri! 😊💗💙💚💛🧡
Wow! It is cool!! Fabulous creative process too.
Many thanks!
I love it! What a triumph! 😮
Wow, thanks so much!
LOVE this one! Way to go. This turned out adorable!
Yay! Many thanks!
Yaaaazzzz Andy! Fabulous!! Bravo!!!!
Many thanks!!
Very artistic. A "boutique piece" for sure. There's a market saturated with mass appeal styles, but some people want truly original ideas like this. Good job! A nice unique one for your portfolio of work.💐👍💕
Love this, thanks so much, Karen!
I love it Andy!!!!
YAY! Thanks so much!
Wife and I love it! The stencil is the kind of painting I can handle …other then the patience part lol Great work!
YAY!! So glad you both love, many many thanks!!
Stop it! Just STOP it!!! You keep tempting me! (Or is that what inspiration feels like?) I can see flowers in my future! Now, what can I find around here that needs new clothes.......
Love it! Thank you!
LOL, thanks so much!! SO glad you are feeling inspired/tempted....go for it!! 💗💙💚💛🧡
Love this beautiful, timeless side table! Bravo!
Hooray! Many thanks, Gina! 😊💙💗💚💛🧡
Love this! I sewed a few chintz dresses back in the late 80's! You've given it a fresh new take and it is stunning! And it is truly one of a kind so the price should reflect this! xoxo
So cool to hear that, thanks so much Krista!
Should have added this is my first time finding your site - what a wonderful discovery
Oh that's so fantastic! Welcome, and I'm so glad you found me!
Absolutely amazing 😍
Yay, thanks so much!!
Joy for the journey Thanks enjoying your evolving!
Lovely to hear that, thanks so much Colleen!
Oh Andy, this table is awesome and fabulous! I absolutely love it. I doubt I could ever sell it. It’s just my style and would fit perfectly in my house!
My hobby is designing and making greeting cards. I have been told to open an Etsy store too. I’m not sure that would ever happen though. The cards take me almost a day to complete and then I have to make the envelope. I understand the joy and happiness in the process too since they are all a labor of love!
Oh wow - Kate, that is so fantastic! So thrilled you like this one, many many thanks! 😊💗💙💚💛🧡
