Good to know, oldest son has a 55 Chevy truck he's about to convert from a six to v8, 383 stroker, automatic, motors built & new tci auto come yesterday ! Getting closer on that jewel !!
R u having a good time doing fabrication work on the small block into the ur truck? I put a LS engine into my 1967 c 10 it was a fun build for me , I made all my engine mounts trans mount had to be moved back , the wireing was a nite mare , ugg . Good luck.God bless y'all real good.
I got the cross members cut to fit and bolted to the engine and tranny and positioned everything where I wanted it, tack welded the ends on and marked the location on the frame with a marker. Then pulled every thing out and welded the ends on. Then I put the engine cross member in position and drilled and bolted it to the frame. Then I put the engine and tranny back in and drilled the holes for the tranny cross member. Not easy, but take your time and you will get it.
Matt, thanks for posting this I am putting a 350 vortec and 700r4 into a 1948 1 1/2 ton using what looks like the same kit.
Glad I could help

I am having fun, still a lot of work to do.
So glad you made these! I’m at the same place, quick question.. did you weld the motor Mount bar to the brackets? I’m confused about that part.
Yes I did. I bolted everything into place, then tack welded the ends on the crossmembers, then pulled them out of the truck and welded them solid.
Ah ok, thank you!
Good work.
Thanks!
How did you determine where to place the crossmembers? Did you weld them in you drill holes and use the bolts that are supplied?

Sitting on pins & needles waiting for part 2. Too bad about the 69 truck. I'd have paid big money for it.
part 2 is out
Do you have a link for the crossmembers you purchased? or what would i look for on ebay?
