I appreciate you posting the Mona technique. I lack the shoulder mobility to grab my barrel easily. I find the "normal" method super awkward. I just take mine off like a backpack with the harness straps.

I thought it would be worthy to note, not only keeping the rifle pointed downrange, but also the correct moment that Tiril actually chambers a round.

Fair to translate "I don't condone this" to mean "someone is eventually getting shot".

The Mona technique always concerned me because there's a moment as the rifle is coming around that the barrel swings by the mats and other skiers. It seems to violate the barrel up or toward the targets rule, but many do it, esp the Swedish team

      Totally agree.
IBU Rule 8.5.1: "Making rifle movements that might endanger others
or the competitors themselves, or that may be perceived by others as dangerous,
      is forbidden."
Maybe nobody perceived her actions as dangerous...

Question. When Tiril drops to the mat here, she is on the right side. Would it be better to be in the center, or am I missing something?

No, that just looks like her personal style. I would recommend setting up in the middle but obviously she has done this so many times she figured out she likes to be a little off-set.
