Things would have to go really wrong for Campbell Wirght to not win the blue bib (I hope not as I'm a fan). Isak Frey, the only guy performing on a similar level within that age group, probably won't get enough starts in the World Cup on the stacked Norwegian team and somebody else would really have to improve massively from the last year. The betting companies are grinding their teeth. 😂 As for the groups, I agree with you - I can see how the athletes may be annoyed but I think it's a cool idea from the viewers perspective.

Any UA-cam race coverage in English this year? The only English I’ve found is the highlights and then watch the races with German commentary.

The red and blue groups will be randomized because they are draw groups. However IBU made an error, saying there are 4 draw groups. There are actually 6 draw groups. The red, blue and green group and group 1, 2 and 3 of the non-designated athletes. I wonder why they are not hiring a trained mathematician to do this stuff. The math required is high school level, but some combinatorics, statistics and set theory may be helpful to design systems that actually meet requirements.

If Lampic improves to 80% shooting (unlikely) there won't be a race for the Crystal Globe. I think there will be 2-3 race wins.

I love Anna but as a Finn I would like to see Emilia Irvankoski breakthrough. We in Finland also need new Kaisa Mäkäräinen to fight for top positions.

My ideas for prize money: Someone who shoots clean in a four-shoot race (individual, pursuit, mass start) gets a €1,000 bonus, and someone who shoots clean without spares in a relay leg earns €500 to be split between the four teammates in that relay, or partner in single mixed.

This green startgroup can favour Norway, because we have so many good athletes and so few spots😄Remember Sørum, if I'm not mistaken, he was out , but raced in Mass starts very often or Botn at the end!

For the season opener, do you know if there will be a red and blue group based on last year’s results or if they will wait for the second time trial to apply this?

Hopefully they randomize the blue and red groups, I think it should make watching the Sprints and Individual events a lot more interesting this season.

Hey Brian, idk if you remember my username since it’s been a while since I made a comment… even though I still enjoy and highly appreciate your content 🙂, so yeah thanks for this really cool video, those excel sheets especially were excellent (haha get it (sorry)) I feel like it wouldn’t make sense not to randomise both the blue and red groups cause if it were by the same order every time, it would make the competiiton slightly more boring, so yeah, hopefully they’re both random I also have a question to your previous video where you tried to predcit the globe winners (unlucky with Botn, let’s see whether Soerum will be a shout now even though I would expect way more from Endre Stroemsheim)… there you talked about shooting percentages in particular competitons such as the pursuit and the mass start… were the data you mentioned just from last season or from the whole career of each athletes? Cause if they were from just last year (which I suspect), I’m not sure how important will those stats prove to be Lastly, I’d just like to point out that there’s also now from this season extra prize money for the fastest pursuit time in pursuits and for athletes with the best legs in relays That’s all, thanks for answering (if possible) and let’s get ready for the start of the season (even though I’ll most likely miss all the races from this upcoming weekend🙃)

Definitely in favour of the new start list system. I'm for anything that makes the race exciting the whole way through. Like a sprint would almost always be decided within 30 minutes from bib no. 1 starting. With the new rules, theres no getting coffee before the last athlete is through the finishing gate. 😉

stian eckhoff used to be the head coach for the womens team. In fact he was the coach when Tirill won her gold meda,l and the women won te relay, at the worlds in 2016 in Holmekollen. He resigned a year or two later to be replaced by Patrick Oberegger, the current head coach for the women

The data for Uiloq Slettemark is incorrect. She made her debut in the early 90's under her maiden name (Heilmann). Back then, she represented Denmark, because Greenland wasn't seen as independent by the UIPMB (the international pentathlon association). Still, interesting video.
