When this first happened I thought the mask piece was on Garm somewhere OR that Heimdall stole the piece behind Garm already, since he tells Odin he retrieved "the item" later
@@giveandtake8428 I thought it was obvious, since the green rift in Odin's basement is awfully similar looking to Garm's green clawmarks. So the mask was reacting to Garm, even tho there wasn't any mask piece there.

Atreus fucked up, he wasnt pretending he didnt, so kratos was fully supportive. Yelling at an already guilty atreus would accomplish nothing.
Kratos was the only one wise enough to acknowledge that Atreus had made a mistake; and that Atreus was fully aware that he had. Him supporting Atreus and offering to help him fix it was what Atreus needed at that time instead of judgement. But Kratos also realized that he made a mistake in how he was parenting Atreus, which lead to him being driven away. I love the relationship between these two; and I would never think that I would be looking to Kratos for parenting advice.
I love Kratos' response. He defended Aterus from bashing (which I would have done the same if I knew who's Garm), but also admitted that his son had made a mistake, and proceeded to amend his son's mistake with him That's high quality parenting there
Odin: by the way, if you see a giant wolf there, leave it alone. Loki: why? Odin: because he rips holes in reality and can’t be controlled. Loki: okay, I’ll remember that.

The moment Mimir reacts, you can just see the feeling of defeat come over Atreus. Here's a person whose judgment he holds in high regard, having a reaction like that when he never really has before, I'd probably feel like that too.
The sheer terror of Mimir and the urgency of Tyr just shows how bad the situation is
I mean to be fair, "Tyr" knew about it already and was just playing the part
All “Tyr” done was say something manipulative by mentioning Loki
Mimirs instant “GARM?!” Kills me everytime
Yup, that's Loki in a nutshell. Screwing up and fixing his mistakes.
The other mythologies should be sweating nervously as he now travels to them 😂
The next mythology group will be in Egypt supposedly. I can't wait for them to do something stupid like destroy Serkets oaths of potions
Pretty sure Garm can only travel between norse realms.

@@anontwentytwo1380 why did you feel the need to say "soy boy"
I wondered how they would turn the mostly sweet child from the first game into the god of mischief. Atreus' intentions are always pure, and yet he accidentally causes chaos everywhere he goes. I think maybe that's his curse, and seeing as it's his life goal to help people, it'll torment him as he grows up. Like Kratos' curse.
"No good deed goes unpunished."
Thats honestly would be an interesting character arc for atreus if they decided to go that route in the future, helping people will be his downfall
I love how Kratos was very forgiving of Atreus. I believe that he was proud of Atreus for not having given into Odin’s honeyed words and knowing when he needed to regroup and ask for help. Kratos didn’t need to force Atreus to come back to him because Atreus was loyal to his father and came back on his own.

I have a friend who’s into norse mythology. I told him about this mission and they basically had the same reaction as everyone in the game lol. He called me one night asking if he killed tyr yet.
(Because in some stories of real norse myth tyr is fated to fight garm during ragnarok)
Everyone:HOLY SHIT YOU FREED GARM!

Mimir’s reaction to hearing that Garm was freed was just priceless!😂
Notice how odins fists are balled up when he speaks to atreus about garm, hella good at hiding his true intentions
This one moment is exactly why it's important to teach history
Everyone "garm you freed garm oh this is the mother of all mistakes"
Kratos " so we need to put down a dog.....so be it"
And he was so sure about it too
Mmmm doggo hel yummi 😋
Kratos said : put it down Like ole yeller
I love how Odin was a great actor, one moment he was like a great grandpa letting it slip away but next thing started scolding Atreus in Tyr's form like he doesn't know a thing.
I just got to this part and Mimir's reaction made me fall out of my chair laughing.
Everyone just suprised while kratos hust chill and comfort atreus. He already fucked his own country what else does scared him ?
At least they managed to fix that problem unlike what happened to Greece
Kratos is many things but a hypocrite is not one of them. He may be cagey about his past, and insist others be better, but he does not pretend that he's a saint, nor does he give people grief over mistakes he himself made once upon a time.
Atreus fucked up, he wasnt pretending he didnt, so kratos was fully supportive. Yelling at an already guilty atreus would accomplish nothing.
Mimir had the best reaction 😂
Kratos was the only one wise enough to acknowledge that Atreus had made a mistake; and that Atreus was fully aware that he had. Him supporting Atreus and offering to help him fix it was what Atreus needed at that time instead of judgement.
But Kratos also realized that he made a mistake in how he was parenting Atreus, which lead to him being driven away.
I love the relationship between these two; and I would never think that I would be looking to Kratos for parenting advice.
The way Kratos deals with the situation is how all parents should deal with the mistakes of their children
I love Kratos' response. He defended Aterus from bashing (which I would have done the same if I knew who's Garm), but also admitted that his son had made a mistake, and proceeded to amend his son's mistake with him
That's high quality parenting there
9:32 Ratatoskr was like a disneyland guider with no mood 😂
Odin: by the way, if you see a giant wolf there, leave it alone.
Loki: why?
Odin: because he rips holes in reality and can’t be controlled.
Loki: okay, I’ll remember that.
i think odin wanted atreus to free garm to sympathise with him and he knows kratos is strong enough to stop garm

At first I didn’t think Garm being free is a big deal for them, but seeing Mimir’s reaction to it. That changed it.
This whole sequence hit me right in the fucking feels.
Truly an interesting spin/amalgamation on both the Fenrir and Garmr (Garm) Myth.

I was not the one who first mentioned this, but the moment with Odin is another hint at him being Tyr in disguise.

What's important to understand is that Garm was mistreated by Asgard and Odin/his family. It was only Tyr who could get him under control enough to get him back in his chains, something none of the aesir were prepared to do, because they don't deal with any of their mistakes.

The way Odin threw the sword on the bed with such disrespect 😂
It's a very subtle but very telling action. Ingrid is a sentient weapon that clearly has feelings, and Odin throws it aside like it meant nothing to him - just as he does with anyone or anything that's not useful to his plans
"You screwed up. It doesn't change the fact that you're welcome here."
This is the one line that maybe everybody needed to hear from a parent growing up but didn't. And it comes from Odin. Such excellent writing.
It's so nice that everybody was like "WTF did you do" and it was Kratos to take his side without single word of blame. Shows how much Kratos has developed as character. He knows that his son made a mistake and he needs help to fix that, not blame.
To be fair Kratos knows exactly what it's like to make a celestial-scale fuckup
I like Kratos in this scene l, he did not continue placing blame on loki. Instead he said, a mistake was made, now we go fix it.
I honestly Lmfaoo when i heard Mimr’s reaction
Kratos is a real one. He backed Atreus right away and proclaim a solution to help him fix it. No anger or judgement, made a mistake, right away, we will fix it.
I was suprised how Tyr sounds i was honestly expecting him to sound like Kratos but a bit deeper
Atreus: i freed Garm
Mimir: you did WHAT!?
Yeah, the 9 realms were in jeopardy with Garm being released, Atreus made a serious mistake.
But:
- Neither Mimir, Freya or Tyr mentioned Gram _at all,_ prior to this. (Mimir had _plenty_ of time beforehand to at least mention him to Atreus)
- Odin could've at least _informed_ him of Garm before sending him to Helheim
- Everyone was quick to judge but were as slow as snails to offering help for Atreus (except for Odin and Kratos, Odin let him do what he had to do and Kratos actually went to fix his mistake as father and son).
_Everyone_ was at fault here for their own reasons, not just Atreus.
Because no one really expected he'd free Garm.... everyone was rightfully pissed.
@@itsharibonph I still believe that Tyr, Mimir and Freya could've directed their words to him better (I know reality-wise, it's just their Scripts doing the work that could've been done better). It was fortunate Kratos was there to shut them up because _none_ of them were helping with the situation.
You should only be pissed at something or someone for so long before thinking of ways to remedy, if not eliminate the issue at hand. Especially when it's this big of one. (Even Ratatoskr tells the Duo to hurry up back to Hel to undo what they've done instead of pinning them there for longer with a verbal tirade [you can speak to him after closing the hel-gates at sindris house])
Atreus came back seeking help _first_ before getting reprimanded, because there wasn't enough time for him to sit there and be yelled at. (Kratos knew this. He was _better_ than that)
When someone admits to making a mistake, big or small, fix it first. Speak to them afterward. They've punished themselves in their mind for it already. (Any person who owns up to their mistakes will always be ready to take responsibility of their consequences once the immediate issue is resolved)
@@itsharibonph i wouldn't say they were pissed.. more like surprised and terrified... ...but I'm baffled that all they did was whining. They could have helped... Kratos knows this, Freya knows this, Mimir knows this, Heimdall knows this(by locking eyes he can read your exact intentions feelings, even your own history), multiple people know this.
Yet they don't give the PETA lover, a basic pep talk how hey "Hey theres a really scary wolf that can literally destroy reality, please DO NOT free it, I know it sounds like it wants to be free, but it wants to be free so it can destroy everything"
Not to mention Heimdall was there to supervise them and then proceeded to ignore everything they did then complain about it after
Kratos used to be a world destroying creature that was trapped in the land of the dead so it makes sense he wouldn’t want to be too harsh on Atreus
