Dad, you gotta come home. You went out for milk 7 years ago and you never came back. Since then you've been cursed. To always come within one step from victory but get denied. If you don't come back, you'll be stuck in an endless loop of 4-1.
I forgot this was even standard! Not used to the power level of cards being this high, but it was pretty entertaining to see daddy's deck in action against a meta I'm unfamiliar with.
If you're wanting more Haste sources, the only two I could find that would offer anything other than just Haste (and not costing a ton of mana) are Reckless Lackey and Undead Sprinter. The Lackey gives First Strike along with Haste and has a way to sac itself if you need it in the graveyard. It even leaves a Treasure token behind when you do that. Undead Sprinter offers Trample on top of Haste, and its contribution beyond that is some minor resiliency in that it can return itself from the GY if any other non-zombie dies. This might let you survive a few early turns until you can get Scavengers online proper. Beyond that, there's just not really any decent Haste options that won't just sit in your hand, competing with Zetalpa and Valgavoth's Lair as discard fodder.
Standard is so fun right now. I've been having a blast with azorius autistic artifacts, shitting out synthetizer constructs and melding urza into the superwalker. I've never had more fun.
Very nice deck today. I discovered your channel because of a soulflayer video of yours. Pulls were also good and its nice that the one that doesnt get the one ring still gets the good and pricy aragorn.
At this point there's a defined story structure to most Magic Aids videos. 1. The eager adventurer (daddy) sets off (gets excited over a deck and gives the deck tech) 2. The adventurer triumphs gloriously over his first opponents 3. The adventurer becomes a fallen angel as he faces his most difficult matchups and obscenely lucky draws when it matters most 4. 4-1 5. 3-5 years later the cycle repeats as the next generation picks up the torch (daddy plays the same archetype again)
Haven't played Standard in a while but your brew might make me try it out, it seems to strike a nice balance between fun and effective despite the deck looking fragile at first glance. BTW, I really appreciate your editing style - even if I don't laugh at every joke, I'm amused by most of them and the pacing is excellent for me (as fast as possible while still making it easy to follow how board states develop). Looking forward to your future videos!
Oh man, it's been since before the pandemic since I played Paper Modern, but I still have my 2 decks in sleeves... Hollow Ones and Soulflayer. Getting to see an updated list has me craving some Modern games
The little hand gesture after opening The One Ring got me ngl 😭 As for feedback, with all of those discard effects, perhaps we could play Inti instead of Cruelclaw? Regardless, the deck is awesome and I’ll definitely be trying it!
Maybe replace Cruelclaw with another 3-4 mana threat with more keywords to better synergize Also is it crazy to think that some white sources to cast Zetalpa in the late-late game could be fine?
'Oh no, our opponent is high. But that means they're qualified to design cards for Wizards of the Coast.' No truer words have been spoken, lol. Also, love to see Zetalpa.
Tried it a much more streamlined deck with some of the Entomb-style effects in standard, but managed to go up against decks that leave up removal every time. This version with some alternate threats and disruption seems much more viable!

Have you seen the price of milk these days??
"Oh no our opponent is high! But that means they're qualified to design cards for Wizards of the Coast"
So. Fucking. True.
This was so funny
At least they’re not a whore, that would make them qualified to be on the commander committee!
"Oh no our opponent is high" had me laffin'
Man this deck is exactly what I love seeing in this channel. Super innovative, and actually worked into the current metagame which is wild.

Zetalpa in standard is wild, those were great games, you didn't get the graveyard blown out.

Hell yeah
I get more excited watching your videos than when my uncle comes over for Thanksgiving and starts getting handsy after a few drinks.
Very nice deck today. I discovered your channel because of a soulflayer video of yours.
Pulls were also good and its nice that the one that doesnt get the one ring still gets the good and pricy aragorn.
I always like it when Daddy does standard content. It's something I can build myself and try out more easily! Thanks Daddy!
I love your ability to find competitive decks and synergies that everyone else is sleeping on.
Only magic creator I actively look forward to every single week
That hexproof tech is the truth. Been watching for so long since the last trophy, you'll get there. This deck is awesome.
I remember your soulflayer deck for pioneer when the format started and now when it feels like pioneer died, you made another! Feels very poetic
pioneer is awesome right now.
Always love to see your fresh takes on various metagames. Taking this deck to Arena immediately
Love these video! Keep up the great work Aids! You killed it!
I saw so many people talk about soulflayer and sire of seven deaths but nobody noticed this, amazing...
Yo holup this deck is sick. Also I'm actually impressed with how well It did against BG midrange, that's a tough matchup.
It's always fun to watch new decks that try to do something unique. Feels like this deck is one cheap protection piece away from becoming a nuisance.

This channel always has the most creative but still effective brews, I still jam the winds/prototype deck in pioneer for fun every once and a while.
This deck looked so fun it actually got me playing standard again. Good innovation
Yet again, another absolute banger of a deck. Thanks for all the entertainment!
Your video has gotten me excited to play standard again. Haven't played the format since 2018.
This type of deck has always been one of my favorites!
Love the off meta decks that are goofy and competitive truly inspiring
I love seeing (relatively) original decks! Unfortunate you went up against three Golgari decks, but the deck still managed to hold up.
Haven't played Standard in a while but your brew might make me try it out, it seems to strike a nice balance between fun and effective despite the deck looking fragile at first glance.

Wanting to get back into paper magic and deciding between modern and standard. Great to see I can get both from this channel!
That deck ran great I love to see janky decks like this pop off and scare everyone it’s so much fun to cause chaos in the meta keep up the good work
The templating on Scavengers working with Valgavoth's Lair to give it hexproof is pretty neat.
I'm so excited to see Urborg Scavengers seeing play in Standard
Been wanting to play em since Aftermath
I really appreciate how Foundations is helping break the monotony of standard
Master of 4:1 strikes again! Btw Ashlizzle released a video with BW version 4 days ago and it seems more stable. Could there be a BRW version?
Loving these decks you bring to the table
I'm usually not the biggest fan of standard, but this was so cool to see! I'd love to see more of this deck
It was just a matter of time until we saw another soulflayer deck, always amazing to see
This video gave me hope for standard again 😌
i did not expect this to be so good, soulflayer been a meme for a while, but this was a really good deck
All in standard is the wild part for me, the back and forth is crazy and it feels like older formats!
"Soulflayer" is back baby! I like it and it's good, nice
Love the hexproof land tech
Only you can make me singlehandedly enjoy watching standard content so much lmao
Loved the deck, was a lot more aggro than some other versions I've seen floating around.
Oh man, it's been since before the pandemic since I played Paper Modern, but I still have my 2 decks in sleeves... Hollow Ones and Soulflayer.

Love the fact you show standard videos too, what’s y’all’s favorite formats? My is pauper
I won my GameDay with a soul flayer back in the day! Friggin love that deck and am impressed with this 1! Daddy never fails!
Love your energy in these videos your the best magic player on youtube
I tried to build this deck before foundations and it wasn't great, so I'm glad there's finally a niche for it!!
I'm impressed. I haven't been a fan of soulflayer style decks, but this one seems to have legs.
Thanks you daddy for making the most entertaining mtg content, really put a smile on my face whenever you posting 😩
Awesome content! Most fun watching constructed magic content.
I made a version of Soulflayer when Pioneer first came out, I'm so happy the spiritual successor has such a fun deck to used in!
Soulflayer decks always make me smile 😊
the creativity is awesome. its so satisfying to see weird off-meta brews take down the generic piles like golgari
Yes yes yes! Another masterpiece modern style deck !
Damn thought you had it man. Been watching you ever since you birthed humans into modern. Please don't stop anytime soon.
Love this brew, would love to see more of it in the future.
Love seeing modern players try out standard! It really feels like the early days of modern.
you added the matchup prediction ("we'll have problems against GB and W") and I love it!
Awesome to see lili putting in the work in standard
Soulflayer brings back fun memories. that was a fun standard format back in the day
Best magic channel, and always creative brews
Great video as Always!
I was on the edge of my seat. Epic Entertainment!!
You were cooking with this one 🔥 gotta build it immediately
How do you feel about Charming Scoundrel in this deck? Haste and utility seems like it would fit right in!
Maybe replace Cruelclaw with another 3-4 mana threat with more keywords to better synergize
Also is it crazy to think that some white sources to cast Zetalpa in the late-late game could be fine?
This is a great deck daddy! Keep up the good work!
Huh that was neat. I really like cruelclaw so glad to see him in this deck :)
Also, Always a good day when there's a new magic aids video.
Standard feels so open right now, it has early pioneer vibes and I think that's super high praise
'Oh no, our opponent is high. But that means they're qualified to design cards for Wizards of the Coast.' No truer words have been spoken, lol. Also, love to see Zetalpa.
He ain't wrong! Lol
standard is wild right now! I was looking at something like this deck. Put that seven finger guy in the deck. he has a lot of words on him.
Love these little Scavengers like you wouldn't believe.
Love to see more standard content from you
Daddy bringing us the hard hitting standard content we love to see
Soulflayer decks are so sick, I almost made one in pioneer. Interesting to see they gave the tools for it in standard
Tried it a much more streamlined deck with some of the Entomb-style effects in standard, but managed to go up against decks that leave up removal every time. This version with some alternate threats and disruption seems much more viable!
Great to always get some diggin with daddyy
That is a great deck I am going to build it a give it a shot!
Thanks for the build!
I swear I was waiting for the Fable to be revealed during the intro, crazy that this is what standard looks like nowadays
Going 5-0 with a 3-0 record vs the deck you were most worried about in the preview is just something the magic gods couldn't allow
GL to the winner of that deck box!
Awesome as always ❤
Love the dig on WotC! Zetalpa is a nutty card.
The deckboxes look super sick
Love to see this deck concept come back.
It's great to see Daddy playing with Liliana again
Zetalpa is the best spice for Rakdos keyword soup, would love to see more nonsense like this in the future!
Absolutely love these videos
Impressive showing white all the graveyard hate and glissas around, hope to see this more!
I'm glad zetalpa is back standard was so good when it was in the format
I Love when anyone uses Zetalpa. I built a Eater of Virtue deck with zepalta in it!
The 4-1 curse continues. Although facing the worst matchup three times and beating it twice is crazy.
Deck looked so fun I just blew all my wildcards on arena lol. Fun so far!
Dang, good on Daddy for spotting the synergy between the Hexproof Lair and Scavengers, would have gotten past me hah
looks sweet! Will share your deck with my dino enjoyer buddy!
Zetalpa being competitive viable would be amazing to see. The meta is finally unflappable
Always love your videos bro.
