To almost not answer the question at all, he will occasionally make an update mid video. Which is to say that i think being sure of it doesn't really exist
He made a few videos where he goes over his deck building process. Keeping up on all the cards in the newest sets helps as well, I fell off after bloomburrow.
I'm a little surprised to not see No One Left Behind in the deck. A 2-mana recursion spell for the Scavengers was one of the first things I thought about.
As soon as the 7 mana Eldrazi was revealed my immediate thought was "Somebody out there gonna make deck that dump the Eldrazi for Scavenger to eats" and here we are lmao
Rest in Peace is kryptonite for this deck. Also, Anoint with Affliction (assuming no ward or hexproof), Extract a Confession, Consumed by Greed, Sheoldred's Edict, Rankle's Prank, Rush of Dread, Season of Loss, Sunfall, Rest in Peace + typical removal (assuming no indestructible), etc. There are several reliable answers for scavenger decks like this one, even if the scavengers have indestructible, ward, hexproof, etc.
A cool suggestion for this deck if anyone wants to experiment with it. You can make the deck mardu to run kroxa and kunoss, as they work quite well in the reanimator/ keyword package. White itself has a couple useful spells, so making it one of the key colours may give the deck some extra playability
The scavengers could also work with keywords on non-creatures so for example exiling a valgavoth's lair would give it hexproof which could be cool although I'm not sure if it would be worth it to include it.
@@LegenVD true! if you were building a historic deck similar to this i would also say sproutwatch dryad and thunderous orator are great picks. sadly the only card that does this in standard is scavengers
This deck wants Entomb so badly. My first competitive deck was a legacy reanimator. The thing I loved most from that deck was the flexibility to tutor for different creatures depending on the opponent. Iona for monocolor, Blazing Archon for decks going wide, Sphinx of the steel wind for gruul color combinations, Griselbrand for general purposes. This was probably 11 years ago
I made a scavenger type of deck ages ago how does this deck deal with indirect removal such as edict or sunfalls? is there any other way to win other than banking on scavenger?
So that’s the “weird” thing about cards like Urborg Scavengers, it’ll only get keywords that it specifies, so if it doesn’t have Ward in the pool of keywords it can “steal”. One of the things to look out for if you’re wanting to build a deck like this.
46:27 Burn players doing braindead things. Kill the creature that will be practically impossible to remove after the trigger resolves? Nah, 4 damage to face.
If this is in response to what I think it is, LVD wasn't talking about the Scavengers dying to deathtouch, it was about the Scavengers deathtouch killing the Essence Channeler during first strike damage step. Because it dies, the opponent will be able to move the +1/+1 counters on the Essence Channeler onto another (potentially unblocked) creature before that creature deals damage.
First time seeing the combat mechanics in action. So you dont have to assign letha damage to one as i understand it now? I saw a video before but i somt rhink i understood correctly @legenvd
magic.wizards.com/en/news/feature/foundations-mechanics "Damage assignment order no longer exists. If a creature is facing multiple opposing creatures in combat, that creature's combat damage is assigned and dealt as its controller desires during the combat damage step. Other players won't necessarily know what's going to happen." This change is mostly relevant when the defending player has a pump spell, they will now have to use it without knowing in which order blockers are dealt damage.
Love the inclusion of the land that has (and gives) hexproof. A great card to mill.
Hadn’t considered that one, could be worth a try!
This type of deck is what I expected from legenvd after a set comes out. Absolute legend.
It IS in his name
I also enjoyed the Esper one he showcased around a year ago. With Hexproof Kaya and Invasion of Tolvada.
12:33 that was such a cool line. I would not have thought of that
He's really good. It's these kind of plays that make a top 1% player.
We finally found a use for all the random zetalpa reprints we got in every other edh precon with white 😅
how much time do you usually spend testing a deck idea until you're sure of the decklist? probably varies a bunch, but I'm curious
Depends if I’m breaking new ground or if I can rely on past experience. The more decks you build, the faster you get at making them.

good thoughtful question.
I feel like Deep-Cavern Bat has singlehandedly made 4-of 1-mana removal mandatory in all decks.
I'm a little surprised to not see No One Left Behind in the deck. A 2-mana recursion spell for the Scavengers was one of the first things I thought about.
Ideally Scavengers never die and we already have Dirge to get it back.
I love how powerful this silly bulk rare can be

one of the most fun decks Ive seen

I'm crafting this because the way the red mages brain fizzled out at 14:26 is cinema
Shivan devestator is good for flying haste to double trigger on his 1st turn.
It is cute that you can play it for X=0 on turn one to set it up.
Very nice themed, flexible and fun deck you created here.
Another day another banger. Keep up the great work man!
FLAPPIN, DOUBLE SLAPPIN, NO NAPPIN, SCRAPPIN, UNFLAPPABLE! THE SKY GOES "SKRAAAAWWW" AND THE EARTH GOES "HOLY SHIT!"
We need a version of this with possibilities ASAP!
My wild cards are gonna be a light after seeing this

As a Kathril EDH player this warms my heart
What about the hexproof enchantment land, Valgavoth's lair? added hexproof keywords ^~^
Definitely a consideration!
The scavengers could also work with keywords on non-creatures so for example exiling a valgavoth's lair would give it hexproof which could be cool although I'm not sure if it would be worth it to include it.
Considered Kaya but hadn’t thought of the land, could be worth a try!
Would be awesome if you could make a commander/brawl deck out of this deck!
This is such a funny deck, man! Has big issues, but it's very funny. Great video; very fun to watch!
Funny deck!
sick asf deck, could've also worked with priest of possibility but i think scavengers is a more unique choice 🔥
Priest also isn’t in Standard!

Great content
44:44 Desolation Angel eh? Thats an old timer if I've ever seen one

Those cards get a lot of mentions throughout the video!
Keyword soup!!! Ahhhh good soup! xD
LegenVD my goat 🫡🫡
Damn people are quick
Notification squad. Reanimator with a twist. Love seeing the creativity lvd.
Nice video.
Mmmm keyword salad 🥗
Any thoughts on a golgari brew of this deck?
Before watching the video, let’s see if my suspicion of “sacrifice a creature” into despair situation will happen hehe.
Sphinx of the final word is on arena? I can remake my first ever deck now, i think
I heard you like keywords 😅
Ok, how many cards are in Foundations??? Cause I keep looking at the set reviews and none of these cards in it.
when the deck is already built around discarding huge creatures, it seems hard to justify not running the full set of zombify.
Why didn't the ward work at 36:49? You exiled a creature with Ward just previously.
So that’s the “weird” thing about cards like Urborg Scavengers, it’ll only get keywords that it specifies, so if it doesn’t have Ward in the pool of keywords it can “steal”. One of the things to look out for if you’re wanting to build a deck like this.
@@Dai-Tiger yeah my bad, I didn't read the text closely. The picture for the video says Every Keyword so that misled me.
thousand year storm next pleeeeez
Sunfall :P
Bitter Typal!
I made an omniscience storm deck in standard. foundations is awesome.
dooooerdch
mouse off the card while explaining it

22:15 scavengers has indestructible, it doesn’t die to deathtouch
