1:10:20 it is highly unlikely that Sharif wanted kargil. And if he was briefed then military deliberately didn’t explained him clearly because if you are going to do such a big move between two nuclear nations then it is your duty to explain him clearly, you can’t just say he was interested in food. We also know army was not asking for his permission, they don’t need to.

Harsh truth : Pak army is the main reason behind Pakistan instability. They will never let India and Pakistan trade . If the countries come to an arrangement to trade, army will start war on border. The main reason behind it is army budget. if there is stability in the region army budget will be decreased which is something army don't want.

I have the utmost respect for him and if, he may ever read my comments, I'd like to thank him for his time and his words. May you have a long life sir. Also thank you people at eon. Keep it up okay. Nawaz Sharif will be remembered in good words overall. Bad words associated with him is low level politics played by Mr. Niazi . Sooner or later , khan will also face the same tune.
I am late 80s kids , i have witnessed all of this which he explained very well and in an unbiased way . Such programs should be there mire about positives and negatives of important personalities from Pakistan history.

Who raised the slogan “Jaag Punjabi Jaag, teri pagg nu lg gya daag”? Nawaz Sharif was dunce and dumb and his only agenda was to feed his family and friends and remain on the throne as long as he could

as a metallurgist, just to clarify on putting humans inside the furnace thing by Mian Shareef.. It is not true. It can't be. First of all, if you put a single drop of water inside a furnace (which for steel is operating above 1600 C), a massive explosion happens because the water converts from liquid to gas, and the gas is immediately heated to 1600 degrees where expansion is huge. So anyways, putting a human body inside a furnace will produce a major explosion.. and probably destroy the furnace which is a massive monitory loss. Second, steel chemistry control is not that simple. If you mess up the chemistry the melt will produce the wrong steel and a lot of money will be wasted. Putting a human inside the furnace who has C and Ca and whatnot.. that's nonsense. So Mian Shareef was not putting people inside the furnaces.

My Uncle Late Sh Saleem Ali's father owned the Vulcon company on The Mall. His workshop was located on Railway Road. Mian Sharif started working there decades before Partition. Later he established his own business. My friend's family was also from Gawalmandi. His father was working at Lloyds Bank as Sr Accountant. He got approved a loan facility amounting to Rs 50,000 for Mian Sharif before Partition. Tariq sb's information is not accurate.
Mian Sharif met Gen Zia through Sh Zaid Bin Sultan Al Nahian in UAE in 1978 which resulted in the return of Ittefaq & sale of Gulf Steel in UAE.
Mian Nawaz Sharif was introduced by Gen Jilani in 1981. My uncle Brig Humayoun Malik was sitting with Gen Jillani when he called Gen Zia that he has selected 3 young politicians to be introduced into the cabinet. The other 2 were Chaudhary Abdul Ghafoor & Syed Fakhar Imam.
Asif Nawaz was from Jhelum District. BMW was sent by Mian Sharif, not Nawaz Sharif. I know this because my dear mate was ADC of Comdr X Corps at that time & was cadet at PMA when Gen Janjua was the Comdr. His father in law was DG ISPR of Gen Janjua.
I am curious, did late Kalsoom Nawaz, daughter of a King Edwards Medical College Dr use to attend the wrestling اکھاڑا of her grandfather The Great Gama (not Bholu)?
Tariq Sb should do better preparation before the program.

According to Late Lt. General Abdul Majeed Malik, former Federal Minister, Pervez Musharaf briefed PM on a road in Northern Areas but not on Kargil issue.

Not calling him perfect but regardless of his mistakes and everything else he still tried best to serve Pakistan and have served much. Interestingly His way of politics was still far better than rest of the politicians though it was weak due to his polite nature but he never went against moral and social values and had not been destructive most of the time.

Really nice overall. I think Tariq missed to mention the aspect of Kargil that even the whole army wasnt taken into confidence regarding Kargil and PM was also briefed after Musharaf Sahab had began his adventures.
PM asked American President to call for cease fire once the situation worsened. And that was the point pf contention between these two individuals
For General Musharaf, he had to remove the PM to save his skin and vice versa
