Ken isn't the only one who can V-Trigger to get frame advantage. Other characters can too; Ryu, Cammy, Nash, Chun, etc. Also when using the Ex-Fireball as a frame Trap, Make sure to dash forward. Unfortunately I missed edit that part in.
question ...after ex fireball xx v-trigger xx dash HP i wasnt seeing reversal on the opp side....yet u got crush counter, if the opp tries to mash a grab or mash a 3 frame move would it land?
+commandlist mckay yes it should. when ken uses ex-fireball xx v-trigger on block, he is +21. and because his dash is a total of 15 frames, he still has +6 left. so if we end up using his st.hp, 9frame attack, it should leave a 3frame window. I hope i answer your question and take care
+NurseLee this vid is amazing but I'm struggling a bit..for e.g you said in vid v skill xx vtrig into st hp is 2 frame gap..v skill is plus 7 minus 15 dash is minus 8 overall..plus 9 frame start up of st hp is minus 17? sorry bit confused and trying to use same logic as the +21 ex hado
Dear +NurseLee, first of all i would like to thank you for all the great vids which u made it here. Especially the ones for Ken.They helped me a lot to reach to the Gold Ranks. I don't know how should ask u this but i will try to pose my issue here. In all of the Set-Ups ( Frame Trap Set-ups ) on each Set-Up u have an list for 2 Frame Gab / 3 Frame Gab and for 4 Frame Gab. I kinda now a bit about Frame Data since i hang myself into it but the Gab thing is for me a little bit unfamiliar. What is the meaning of 2 Frame Gab ? Is that the for example an attack with 2 Active Frames ? And the 3 Frame Gab do i understand this right, like If my oppionent attacks me for example Ryu St.Jab or much better L.Shoryuken can i interrupt him with these 3 Frame Gab Set-Ups? I know that a St.Hp leads to a CC for mashing Jab or so. And the 4 Frame Gab are Set-ups for 4 Frame jab mashing Chars ? I would love to hearing from you ! And please keep up the great work love these Videos ! Take Care greetings from Germany. :)
Sup Zul and I'll try to answer the question as simple as possible. so here i go: So the Open Gap represents the window for ken to fish for counter-hits. The smaller the gap is, the better chances for ken to fish for counter-hits combos. Now for the first example @ 00:25: Ken's Step-kick on block > V-trigger > Lion Breaker is " 2-frame Gap". Correct right? And I assume you're thinking about, "How is that a 2 frame gap?" or in other words "How did I calculate it to be a 2 Frame Gap?" So now let's break it down. Ken Step-kick on block is -6 on bock; HOWEVER! it's (+7) on block if you cancel into V-trigger. And Ken's Medium-kick startup is on the (8th frame). And if you do the math it should look something like this... 8 - (+7) = 1; and the number 1 represents how much frame the gap is open, but as you can see there is something wrong with the math or so. In the example @00:24 that setup is a " 2 Frame Gap" , yet the math that i calculated says it ( 1 ) Frame open Gap. And the reason why I said it's a "2 Frame gap" is because Zero (0) is also consider as frame. Zero does not mean "Nothing" So let's look at another example. @ 1:49 the setup is: Hadouken > V-trigger > Heavykick; thus a 1 frame gap. So if Ken V-triggers the fireball on block, it's (+13) and his Heavy kick startup is (13) Frames. So... (+13) - (13) = 0. Now I ask you this question, " Doesn't Zero also represent as a Frame?" So Overall because were dealing with Postive and Negative Values, we have to consider Zero as a Frame in this situation. And if you're still confuse let's look at this way... How many frames is Ken standing Jab? Of course the answer is 4, but this time let's start with Zero not one. { 0 , 1 , 2 , 3 ] Now let mas ask you this question, "How many numbers are there in that bracket?" and of course it's 4. Thanks for the comment, I'll try to make more videos as much as i can. I'm not trying to be or sounding like a Smart ass. I just love fighting games and this is the process of how "i calculate" to find frame traps and etc. ANd if you have any questions please feel free to ask. Take care!
+NurseLee u Today i tryed a lot of these Set-Ups out and to be honest i understand what you are trying to say to me and i get it. Smart Ass? Nah man u are a really nice guy and i'm thanking u yet again for this great infomation u gave me :) But there is something which i dont really believe in the Prima Guide it says the so called Chin Buster 2nd is on V-Trigger Cancel ON GUARD / VTX GUARD it says that it is +9 if u cancel it is this right or did i yet again understand something wrong ?
No you are right. The Prima guide's info on Ken's Target Combo, Chin-Buster 2nd< is wrong. And i only narrow it down to +3; It could be +3 more or less....
Edit!* Crap I just realize i commented on the wrong video. Forget what i said earlier! These frame traps are mostly likely change and i don't know if they still work.

Thx alot it definetly helped
No problem man! Like always Frame traps are still ineffective against Fully-Invincible attacks and V-reversals. Take care!
