Not reached the end of the video yet..latched onto the bit about Dynamat...I had noticed I get a lot more engine noise coming through when I put the heater on! Would appreciate a bit more detail on that, if you can find time! ;) ( I think a lot of other viewers might appreciate it too 🤔?)
The problem with Phenolic is that it is hydrcopic due to the talc used. Maybe not an issue for your applications but caused serious issues on British Rail whan it was being used to manufacture plugin relay bases in safety critical interlockings
That's really interesting you thought me something today. they commonly used it for tackle in yacht rigging so perhaps it doesn't affect the structure but the conductivity of the material
@@OliverPickard it was just for your interesr Oliver, British Rails problem was that all the connectors used in the plug ib relay bases were silver coated and over many years silver migrated across from one sude of the contact to the other facilitated by moisture in the phenolic material. I think phenolic is basically talcum powder and resin.
Just curious because people have so many opinions about that, have you done anything special after the rebuild? any special oil or a premature change? any amount of kilometers to bedding the new rings?.
Awesome video. That engine sound...thats the best reward for everyone of us who own a 2cv😀
Putting an engine together and hearing it run is very satisfying! Great job Oliver, thank you for sharing your work, you do a great job!
Great - enjoyed that. You've now got a car that you can sit in and keep warm! Should last at least another 30 odd years before it needs a rebuild.
Very well presented and you can see from the videos both you and your dad enjoy making them. Bet your dad was some engineer.
He still is 👍🏼
Great video Oliver. She sounds beautiful. I think the 425cc sounds much better than the 602cc.
Yay, Jolene lives again. That’s a nice job Oliver, soon be out and about.👍🏻😎🇬🇧🇳🇱
Great job!
Sounds sweet! Run the rings in properly!
Great video. A good job done well. Looking forward to seeing her being driven.
That's looking good. A job well done.
Very snazzy overalls! An excellent soliloquy on the merits of your engine.

Great dancing!

What are your heater plans for your workshop?
I salute your dedication to saving money. Also, you will still see an exhaust leak because they won’t be shiny. 🤷♂️
Nice !
Great job. Well done mate.

I've got a full video on the dynamat and it really helps but it is loud with the heater on especially the demist it's it's kind of unavailable

Wonder if porridge would work as an exhaust joint paste? 🤔🤭😁
If you don't like the word "patina" use the french expression : I want to keep it "dans son jus."
