The daughter is Kathy Burke from Gimme Gimme Gimme, Harry Enfield & Chums and Absolutely Fabulous, The grandson is Matthew Horne from, amongst other things, Gavin & Stacey. The daughter's boyfriend is Nitin Ganatra, best known for EastEnders.
Loved your reaction! Her Nan character was inspired from when she was a student and she and a few others were doing a singing routine in a care home. They were singing songs from the 40s and the Nan inspiration wasn't complimentary of their performance!
As a Brit the UK is so much more dysfunctional that the rest of the world realises. There’s such a vein of truth to this which makes it so much more funny.
Kathy Burke plays her daughter, who in real life is 5 years older than Catherine. You'd probably like her sitcom Gimme Gimme Gimme, a couple of American reactors hve reacted to it. It's OK, very crude. Made in the nineties.
That has to be one of the best megan Yes it was a lady in an old people's home the character is based on. Catherine was entertaining the residents when the old lady remarked " Is she gonna stand in front of the tele all ***king day " 8:52 !!
You need to see Kathy Burke playing Waynetta Slob when she and Harry Enfield (playing Wayne Slob) win the lottery. (I just wish Braaaan Baby was still on UA-cam, but it seems to have been banned). You may be surprised to know she won Best Actress at The Cannes Film Festival in 1997. The film Nil By Mouth is certainly not a comedy role. She is incredibly talented and a wonderful person too. Proper East Ender. God bless her.
Smack the pony was an absolute revelation. So funny I can still remember some of the dating videos verbatim. Especially the one about her ideal man having an absolutely impossible list of traits/talents. Honourable mention for snow white and the construction workers, the bra shopping and the huge bulge of the window cleaner. Revolutionary in its time.@@MeganRuth
Catherine Tate told a story about entertaining a group of old people in a home when she was an acting student. After her group performance, she was beckoned over by one of the ladies who told her she would make a better door than a window. Catherine asked the lady what she meant. The lady replied “you are in the way do the fucking television!”
It's a shame that you know you should laugh, but it is apparent that at times you do not know what you are laughing at. Or you are laughing because the studio audience is, or you just do not find it funny and are being polite.
Kathy Burke was in Absolutely Fabulous, she is stellar, very good at straight roles as well

Diane is played by Kathy Burke, Comedian probably best known for doing sketches on Harry Enfield & Chums.
Best thing is Kathy is speaking in her real voice. ❤❤
Don't you know Kathy Burke?!! You're so lucky. You got loads to look forward to
If you like Kathy Burke in this you should check out Gimme Gimme Gimme, she's the main character in that, it's fantastic 😂
She was brill and James Dreyfus was so iconic

7:16 Just to clarify, KwikFit (spelt Quickfit in the subtitles) is a company that primarily does tyres but also other car repairs.

Have you ever seen any of sketch show Smack The Pony Megan? would you consider covering that?
I haven’t! I’ll have to check it out. Thanks for the suggestion!
Yeah, a great series, an all female cast.

The swimming pool sketch ( involving the unkempt lady garden area) is my favourite lol 😂.

By the way, you would love Cathy Burke in “Gimmi Gimmi Gimmi!”
I get the feeling Kathy Burke isn't having to act too hard.
🎉🤙🏼
😂😂 I also thought your aussie accent was good but sounded too much like a kiwi accent.

Not one of my favourite episodes of Nan.
