Cool stuff. That's why it's also important to not over press the main seals so they don't end up blocking the oil passages as well

That is a solid tip right there! Thanks for dropping that bit of knowledge

What about the pre 99 models? Ive been around KX250s since '94 and never heard of a oiling problem.

I'm guessing I shouldn't be worried about my 2016 KX100?.. great information by the way

If your bike is up running fine right now, I wouldn't worry about it too much at all. But if you ever go to rebuild the entire engine, you might as well get this modification done for a better piece of mind. It was only $55 so not bad at all!

Wow very interesting! Something to take into consideration since a lot of these engine parts interchange and often times people need new cases but get a set from a different year.

That's so true right there, I never thought about that for people interchanging cases from the same generation.

So as I understand it, you did in fact bore the passage, but also added the taper for the funnel effect. May I ask what the final diameter of the bore for the passage itself was?

So I’m curious this is just 99 because I have a 93 I’m rebuilding right now

Hey Greg I’m restoring a 2000 kx250 really building another sumo. The motor was locked up when I got it. I was also thinking I could’ve just drilled the oil port myself bigger because that what it seemed to be why it locked up main bearing was shot and at some point it was rebuilt with hot rod crank. I sent the cylinder out with head and the crank to ken o’Connor racing to have crank rebuilt cylinder replated with a little port and polish work. Now this all happen a couple months ago before I seen your video here. About 2 weeks ago I was waiting for everything to get done and shipped back any day this is when I seen this video for the first time. I called fletchers the next morning and by noon that day my cases where on there way to him. FYI I’m pretty sure I have a 2000 I’m going to double that though because I also had 5mm oil ports. I didn’t want to invest all this time and money in the motor just to have it blow up. I’m 50 years old and I still was never that good on a dirt bike never been on a track but thats not why I had fletchers do my cases the bike probably will never see dirt again it’s going to be one of my daily drivers not what the bike was made to do and doing so I guess I’m really beating on it. Now I received my top end and crank from ken o’Connor racing everything looks amazing while the motor was out I did a frame off sumo rebuild I guess you can say I cerakoted everything myself frame, subframe, swingarm, and the cases before I sent them to fletchers..
I don’t know how to contact fletchers because it’s been 2 weeks now he said only a few days nobody is answering my calls or email at fletchers to pay them as soon a I get my cases back I can finally finish putting it together that’s the only thing I need. Do you have any idea how I can contact them or what’s going on with his shop? It’s been 4-5 days calling every day no answer and can’t leave a message either I tried email too. Hope everything ok with everyone there . If you have any answers or advice for me I would greatly appreciate it.. thank you for all your videos too couldn’t have done this without them..

Right on James! Sounds like you have an awesome build on your hands!! So cool that you sent everything out to get worked on, especially the cases to Fletcher's!
It makes sense that they may not be answering because last Sunday, we got a gnarly snow storm here that has literally put the entire region into a state of emergency. Usually it warms up the next day to melt all of the snow but it has stayed cold below freezing. There are no plows or trucks to salt, so the roads have been covered with snow, ice, snow, and then ice again. Everything has been closed in this area. Its been BRUTAL. I'm assuming that is why no one has answered there. They are normally very good at answering the phones. I would try back on Monday again as the temperatures are supposed to warm up above freezing on Sunday.
      Keep me posted dude!
