The nice thing with Thorgrim's trait is having the -10% construction on your attacking lords because you often have to build things as soon as you capture cities.

Deathmaster Snikch's stalk trait is very useful on Grom the Paunch. Giving Grom stalk allows him to get on the enemy's flank and rear and take out artillery units.
I would be intrested a Top ten for the most usefull animations. Like Taurox dive attack or tomb scorpions. Not a cosmetic point of view, but a practical one.
Honestly, for all it gets riffed on, the Dread Saurian does have one top marks animation. It's the one that just pushes forewards. Ironically this animation also causes problems, but, in a vacuum it's handy. That animation is the one saving grace of the Dread Saurian. You can never quite pin it down, and there's nothing you can actually do to truly prevent it from punching through the front line. The downside, of course, is that this animation is part of the reason the Dread Saurian is so unreliable at dealing with any single target. Nakai's happy skip is also fantastic, and is at least one of the best charges in the game. The average Saurus Warrior has kind of a unique one where they parry, looks like they swipe with their tail, then double back. Thing is, the animation ends before they're quite back in position, meaning they tag out for the second line of Saurus behind them. This is a small contribution to how Saurus are so damn effective at infantry grind, they start losing models later, since the first two rows at any given time are occasionally swapping out. And of course the Slann. They aren't really meant for combat, but the huge splashes of telekinetic force they bring down have some crazy range and splash targets, and a Slann can absolutely carve through bottom tier units as a result. Finally, the Temple Guard, a unit with such good animations it kinda cheats. The Temple Guard's trick is a simple one. Most halberd units in this game have atrocious animations, but the Temple Guard is only a halberd unit by stats. By animations, it's just your average Saurus, albeit one that just whacks away with its anti-large, armor piercing weapon.
I would personally shift Mannfred down to D tier. There are so many ways to mitigate attrition, and by the time you're fighting Vampire Counts, they're dead in less than 20 turns anyway because of how weak their defenses are.
I don't play on "legendary". But when I play and go for a one-man-army, I always try to get Isabella's trait and avoid fighting/winning against Mannfred at all costs. It's basically useless and just takes a trait spot.
@@Moritz19081980 It is useless for one-man stacks, it's useless for vampires (I regularly recruit a throwaway lord just to soak up the trait for beating down Mannfred when playing Vlad/Isabella), and it's negligible at best when playing other factions because the counts can't defend themselves even on legendary (and you can just raid, encamp or go from settlement to settlement most of the time)
Vlad's charcter trait is also nice for Ungrim who can get a wound reduction as one of his skills. Which is nice cause thematically and for fun you should be sending him into suicidal gambits.
Tyrion trait is useful for all because it also boosts autoresolve and it makes archers lose less balance of power as they lose ammo since their base melee stats are taken into account.
I think you've underrated Frenzy from Malekith, +10 Melee Attack and +10% Weapon Strength (both base and AP) is one of the best upgrades you can give a melee lord who doesn't already have it. Most lords are going to spend most of their time above 50% LD so it's going to stay active pretty much all the time. It's at least an A tier trait for that alone. It's a bigger upgrade than you'll get from Hellebron or Malus that you've placed above it.
The problem is it comes in the form of an ability. Any lord that already has that ability doesn't gain anything. Any lord that spends a significant amount of time under 50% LD also doesn't benefit much. There are also some spells/abilites that gives a unit/units frenzy for a duration. Conditional bonuses are hard to compare to bonuses that always apply.
@@ruukinen There aren't a lot of lords who naturally get Frenzy though, and most lords are not going to be under 50% leadership unless something has gone badly wrong to the point you're probably keeping them out of melee anyway.

I don't cheese(abuse ai flaw) so stalk is one of the most important lord trait for me. It's an SS tier for my playstyle. You don't have to worry about your caster lord and your warrior lord can easily get into position. What's not to love?
Markus trait makes shade stacks so much better for Dark elves I march over there and open up a single city to recruit lords from and farm the crap out of it... I set up another city to farm Thorgrim so when I run out of ammo I can still do AP damage. I also put stealth from Snikch on the lord too because when the whole army stalks and the lord stalks the AI gets really derpy and stalking flying casters are the best. If I need someone discoverable I can put a Master in the stack but usually disciplined assassins with tormentor blades do the trick ( send them in the enemy blobs up I start shooting, I activate the tormentor blade so the enemy can't move then I run away and hide again and rinse repeat)
Tomb Kings and Pirate Coast are usually dead unless I play as them or are right next to them. I barely ever get to fight them and for a lot of Factions if Tomb Kings are alive they usually have good relations so you can easily trade/ally with them
Vlad's trait allows you to teleport. all you need to do is Kill or disband your lord and then you can revive them anywhere else in your empire next turn. You can use it strategically to get all the other traits.
THIS! However replacing lord is 5 turns and wound recovery time does not apply. So AFAIK you have to suicide Lords to teleport in 1 turn (with Vlad trait).
Great list. Thanks. Surprised you placed Craventail so low. Makes me wonder if I overvalue speed, or if I'm bumping up against the cap earlier than I thought.
VC the first to go extinct? That's news to me. Whenever I play Mortal Empires as a New World race, by the time I get to the other side of the pond, they tend to eat up all of the Empire, most of Bretonnia and the Dwarfs, and busy having border-skirmishes with Grimgor. I think the only reason they don't dominate that side of the map is because their expansion area is right in the way of the Chaos invasion route, and they get decimated and swallowed up after that.

If I need someone discoverable I can put a Master in the stack but usually disciplined assassins with tormentor blades do the trick ( send them in the enemy blobs up I start shooting, I activate the tormentor blade so the enemy can't move then I run away and hide again and rinse repeat)
Storm and Reef attrition immunity is useless for Wood Elves too. Researchable.
Can you consider making mount tier list. I'm really addicted to this stuff
Flashbacks to my Eshin campaign where Ungrim got Vlad's trait.
Discovered the cap on number of traits the other day and was very sad to be unable to get Isabella's trait on Kholek.
Highly enjoyed this one!
Oh my God I cannot believe you did one!
Legend now we need same tier list but for their uniques items (and their battles as applicable) 🔝🔝🔝
Great list. Thanks. Surprised you placed Craventail so low. Makes me wonder if I overvalue speed, or if I'm bumping up against the cap earlier than I thought.
Now we just need a legendary lord power ranking
You can have up to 30 traits at any given time so you got a lot of room to play with.
My poor lizard bois, getting most of the more useful defeat traits and the short end of every DLC they're in.
At this point we're gonna need a wiki for all these different charts. Tons of wisdom here.
Good video Legend. Hope CA reworks some of the D rank traits. Between their state and the trait capacity taking a shit trait is really frustrating
When he talks about Ramsey he says multiple traits, how can you get multiple of the same LL defeat trait?
Absolute best one yet!!
The best thing about Nakai is his defeat trait
If I know I'm going to have to fight Snikch I will usually replace my lord with a temporary one before I launch the attack.
Do a most popular / powerful doomstack Tier list!
@LegendofTotalWar: can you share the trait-list?
I like Gelt's trait. It's basically 120 armor across 20 units. But of course armor is worth less at lower amounts
Tehenhauin's trait has changed. Now he has -25% damage taken from all attrition (Lord's Army), instead of untainted +3
i thought you posting late means that we get Slannesh today and you had to wait for the official release. But this will do, this will do.
