    One question if I may - Why do the Welsh need to seek a legal means to leave a union they never legally joined?! Wales was illegally annexed, unlike Scotland who willingly joined With England. Surely the assembly can just withdrew consent for the queen as head of state!
    Oh another thing, The unionists also like to claim Wales couldn't leave thanks to debt it owes, however, Wales doesn't have the power to borrow. All of Wales' debt is thanks to the UK government, which let's be honest is English in all but name. So they basically can borrow from a UK level, fund projects in England, and then get Welsh tax payers to fund it all. Meanwhile, Welsh projects get delayed or canceled on a regular basis.
    And on the MPs present in Westminster, I agree 100%. I just don't understand how Welsh people are so blind to it all!
    Edit - on the culture question, the elite in England don't want it to exist, full stop!!! As the modern Welsh are a link and a reminder to those centuries back who fought so hard for their culture to survive.

      its not that the welsh are blind to it all, its that * there is no welsh social media or even devolved or* independent*, national brodcasting, produced in wales, its all london based....
      the sun, has scottish and irish edition, but yet no welsh one....
      either the majority dont care or are happy for *welsh language and culture to die*...
      welsh coal,cyfathar castle, miners strikes, aberfan are historic testament, that wales does not really exist, its just a *backyard or colony*...

    • @WalesTheTrueBritons
      @WalesTheTrueBritons 4 роки тому +4

      @@jardon8636 Well, it does exist. It's not that Welsh people don't care, it is the fact they have forgotten the differences between the English and Welsh and what it actually means. The Welsh are descended from a great and noble people who have suffered for centuries for their right to exist....you are right about the media and social media aspect. And Wales will never be on its way to independence until it gets control over its own broadcasting.
      As for a colony!....not really, The English influx of Wales occured in the industrial revolution. Before that it was a military occupation in reality. Every country on earth has had immigration so the fact English settled in Wales cant really be seen as a colony in a modern context.
      It will exist as long as the Dragon flies high and Welsh is still being used. And as long as Welsh cultural festivals like the Eisteddfod is still being held.

    A well reasoned argument. The people of Wales know what Wales wants. If we were independent we'd get what we want. As it is we get what England wants us to have. Even the Government in the Senedd is by an English based political party. What other country in the world wants to be governed by a Government based in the country next door?

    Just came across this and am very impressed by the talk. However I was really worried by the suggestion that we should invite Google and Amazon to Wales. These companies provide terrible employment and, in the case of Amazon at least, dodge taxes. New York refused to let them come when that was suggested recently. I think we need to be building our own economy, not encouraging LG - style tax incentives to encourage these footloose easy come easy go companies. Thoughts?
