Just flew mine for the first time today in beginner mode. Winds were about about 5~8 mph. Very stable right out of the box. Quad wants to stay at chosen altitude. Very nice barometer authority - which is why I took a $160 gamble on this quad for that feature alone, but i feel it was worth it. Smooth flight control. Haven't tried the expert mode yet but I can still flip it in beginner mode with the flip button. Haven't tried the HD video camera yet so I have no opinion on that. Very easy to see the large battery status indicator light at it's rear and the auto-land feature is gentle at setting it down. It's a larger bird than my FY326 Q7 so it's easier to see at a distance. Props are 6-3/4" diameter. The prop guards are easily bumped out of position causing prop strike/rub. Leave those off. It doesn't come with landing gear, but the prop pods have rubber cushions on the bottom. The battery/case design is thoughtful in it's execution but renders it proprietary. That's the first thing I would mod to experiment on attaching other battery capacities. Flight time is fair at around ten minutes I'm guessing. If it ever goes on sale for $80 at Costco again, I'm getting another one for the wife. Recommended.

Mine has to be the worst thing I've bought, the auto start just lauches into the air, after many adjustments reading and rereading of the manual it still just flies a crooked line at best. It fails to receive commands and the auto land just kills the rotors and it drops like a rock. My latest attempt in a wide open parking lot at night resulted in it launching off at high speed without me touching the controls and flew 80 yards into a 40 foot tree and I just left it there to rot. It wouldn't respond to the remote, (with brand new batteries) and just flew off full speed until it crashed. All in all, this is probably the worst waste of money I've spent in years and my mother was so excited to take videos, and fly it around. Background: I have had a few smaller drones and RC Choppers and 2 RC planes in the 300-700$ range and flew them all with no problems. I'm also a pretty avid gamer and used to play for MLG and ESports on Halo, COD and GoW... so I know how to be gentle with remotes and patient but this thing was just awful right out of the box.. The first time I turned it on to set it up, as the rotors kicked in it jumped sideways into a table.. again NOT TOUCHING THE CONTROLS. I concede that mine is probably faulty but its just ridiculous that the basic functions don't work properly.. I don't expect my money back because I have cancer and one lung so I'm not climbing a 40ft tree..
Having purchased one of these abominations in the past, I feel your pain. The altitude locking didn't work on mine. It seemed to keep going up on its own without me touching anything.

I am extremely happy with my Propel HD 2.0! Wife bought it as birthday gift and have had it now for a few weeks. I've been wanting to buy a more expensive version, but this one is the best for those who want to learn how to fly and properly control your quad-copter. I will continue to use this one as a trainer and will pick up a more expensive model later this year. Very well manufactured, and great for those that want to get started flying these without burning a whole in the wallet!
This is not a bad drone for the money. I got the FPV version. I also own a DJI Phantom 3 and this is just as responsive in the controls. you just have to pay attention to where it's drifting because it lacks GPS. it does hold altitude well. climb rate is a little slow. 10 minute battery life vs 20 on the phantom. also this drone is lighter so more forgiving if you crash it. I recommend it to any beginner.
Picked this up from Costco a few days back. Thought this would be a nice entry level drone to see if I want to invest in a more expensive one. Everything worked like a champ out of the box no issues so far. I am pretty happy about the extra battery and blades that came with it. Also included was some other parts, blade shield and a calibration plate. No issue with syncing and the auto lock seemed to work just fine. Slight drift but I think that was due to the wind. Real easy to switch modes also. The image quality is about what you would expect at the price range. However my main goal was to see if I would like flying a quad before I shell out the big bucks. This is a perfect drone for that. I would and have recommended it to others that I know who are in the hobby.

Got mine on sale at Walgreens of all places. I like that it has a novice mode with lots of safety controls. Really just wanted it to video property and have fun with kids
with this video i learned to start the blades, and on the first atempt to start to fly only 3 motors trarted, then i got the fourth running, as it was facing me got it in the air and suddenly comes in reverse and atacked me, the down sticks to stop it worked after 10 seconds or so, customer service never got back to me, and as i opened the box no phone holder in the box , so no connection for my camera unless i have a second person holding the phone for me , no manual so no instructions on how to use it to take video or pictures, or even hook up to the unit, by the way my drone is the switch+ wifi, i wish i could just bring it to the store, but trying to get hold of this company time has gon by and is no longer a choice, hope they read this and at least try to say sorry for the trouble....
I received one as a gift and it does have its issues but all in all for the price its not too bad. I have gotten pretty good at flying it and the video and pictures aren't the best but it does a decent job.
I have about 10 hours on this so far or about a hundred flights. I use my iMax B6 to rapid charge it which takes about 20 minutes for 100% or about 90% in 10 minutes. This way when I deplete one battery, the other battery is good enough to fly. The temperature starting at 5 amps on the hobby charger never exceeds 70F or so, so it can easily handle the charge rate. I replaced the original blades after the first hour of flight or so due to minor blade scuffs. No close encounters after that so the second set of blades are still perfect. Warning. There are two sets of replacement blades. One set is backwards so that the black is the grey and the grey is the black. I didn't realize this so I swapped grey for gray and black for black and the drone wanted to flow downwards on takeoff. Change the blades is a pain in the but and the screws are not sized for the metal shaft. When taking off the originals, two of the screws wouldn't back out normally due to the plastic shaft of the bade being stripped. Be careful to not over tighten the new blades. Only go in just enough to seat the screw. Do not tighten at all beyond this. If you go to the point of feel resistance then you've gone to far. Also, the calibration instructions in the manual only work if the controller is in 100% power mode. Took forever to figure this out.

I have this drone and I must say it is a lot of fun to fly and it's very stable, for what it weights, and the videos it rec. is pretty ok for what it is . But my question is !!! One the cam it self the angel of the came is pointed straight down and it looks like you can adjust the angle on it so it can point straight forward I try to angel my cam up but it didn't move and I'm not sure if it suppose to . I mean that would be dum if you can't aim the cam up. Can anybody tell me if you can adjust the cam angle

Does anyone know, is the camera angle on these adjustable? I tried to move mine and even went so far as taking the camera off and removing the backing and it seems that the angle it glued that way?? I didn't want to break it, so i left it alone. I would like to have a more horizontal view vs the downward view that it currently is at. I took to taping my key fob camera to it so i could get that kind of video and it doesn't fly any different with that little bit of weight added. Thanks

I also was not expecting this as a gift, as I fly fixed wing Rc planes. I mentioned this in another response from another video you replied to, I think this is a good price for someone that is a beginner wanting to learn how to fly a quad. It might just be cheap plastic as you suggested, but it's done everything that it has been advertised to do, so I have no complaints. Sorry if you had a bad experience with this product? Even a quad that is high dollar can "not work right" out of the box, it's bound to happen.

You should not be telling people to use any other mode than the 4 channel mode as that is the standard mode here in the U.S. Telling them to use other modes just delays them from mastering the quad.
+ZipSnipe That's right. Spending any time on 3 channel mode will just make it take longer to unlearn that before going to 4 channel mode. 4 channel is easier and more intuitive. Nobody should ever use 3 channel mode.
+Beyond The Leaf In instruction manual it will walk you through the steps, After you sync the drone are you pushing the sticks inward to engage the propellers.
my daughter (9 y/o) and i each got one of these for Christmas and they seem to work ok. ours must be a slightly newer version of this drone. the batteries are different, and we only got one battery per drone :( the battery slides in the rear (vs side like the one in this video) and seem to throw the drone out of balance as they dont hover well and always back up even the with fine tuning. the app works well and the cameras or ok. we have each crashed or run into things and they are still going. i am waiting for an in-stock notification from propel for extra batteries.
I got one at Walmart, yestrday, it is actually easiest it seems at 100% and 4 channel. 3 channel as way less intuitive because you can't turn left or right like you want to you have to spin the thing before turning. 3 channel basically adds an extra step. Most people find 3 channel harder, I have some experience though, my wife wouldn't let me spend more than $100 on a drone after the camara and gps went out on my last one that I dropped $700 on and it got lost somewhere accross town lol. So I have a little experience but this drone seems pretty stable, and if I loose it I won't have to hear about it lol. Last thing, the guy in the video uses his thumbs. That is not the way to control it. Every drone pilot will tell you to pinch the knobs. You would think they would know something that simple.
In mode 2, I am not able to start or stop the rotors. I have to start from mode 1 then while its running, switch to mode 2. If I want to stop it, I have to switch back to mode 1. This is not how this video shows it so I'm guessing mines defective. Anyone else having this problem?
When I try to connect my device to the drone NOTHING shows up on the wifi we did everything the manual said but nothing happens we want to record but can't because the iPad or whatever is happening won't work at all!!! What do I do?

Hello, does anybody know where can I get part replacements for this drone? I'm missing one of the guards, and one other is a little bit bent so the blade collides with it when it spins.

I bought this drone before Christmas for a decent price at Marshall's and I really do like flying it. I wish the app for the camera worked, tho!!! Also, I'd really like to find a second battery for it, but apparently, it's an older model, so no batteries are to be found. Does anyone know where to get more batteries for this thing?!
I've had mine for awhile and it works great. No problems. However, I am aware that Propel does not seem to back their merchandise as other companies do. Difficult to repair or find replacement batteries and parts. I've been extremely careful with mine as I know that when it breaks it will basically be garbage.

So I got someone a gift (niece) for their birthday and they ran it into a tree, now 4 years later i'm finally getting around to repairing it. Just ordered 2 - 7MM Brushed Coreless Motors.
How long can I fly it before the battery needs another charge? I flew it for about 20 mins and it got to the point where the propelers turn ok for about 5 seconds, not strongly enough for it to take of then after the 5 seconds it just turns off.... Can someone explicate why? Please.
Lights should be visible from the ground, as in from underside. You are looking up while flying right? Lost mine due to low visibility from bottom. Otherwise very enjoyable.

I have 2 of these. Worked with controllers day 1. Then after that won’t sync anymore. One of them tries but loses it pretty much right away. The phone App works with both and they fly well. Would love to use the damn controllers though. At the end of the day I wouldn’t recommend this for beginners. To much hassle to get things working properly.
Mines broken I slightly touch the throttle and it flys up to outer space and then crashes all over the place will I’m not even touching the throttle the lock altitude doesn’t work for me

Please help. I got this for Christmas and the first time i got the video to stream thru my phone. Now I can't get my phone to hook up to the plane wifi to stream the video. Is there a way to fix this
I’ve followed the steps in the video, but my drone won’t sync. The lights on the drone blink slowly. When I turn the controller on, the center red lights blink. I push the left control switch ip and down, nothing happens. Can someone please help? This is frustrating.
The HD drone is more for cruising and recording video/taking pictures. The stunt drone has the ability to record in HD but not as good as the just HD drone and is more for doing stuns like loop-de-loops and flips. Hope this helps!

+lamont12373 It's super glued in place. Some have reported being able to break it free so they could adjust the angle.

Most people find 3 channel harder, I have some experience though, my wife wouldn't let me spend more than $100 on a drone after the camara and gps went out on my last one that I dropped $700 on and it got lost somewhere accross town lol. So I have a little experience but this drone seems pretty stable, and if I loose it I won't have to hear about it lol. Last thing, the guy in the video uses his thumbs. That is not the way to control it. Every drone pilot will tell you to pinch the knobs. You would think they would know something that simple.
In mode 2, I am not able to start or stop the rotors. I have to start from mode 1 then while its running, switch to mode 2. If I want to stop it, I have to switch back to mode 1. This is not how this video shows it so I'm guessing mines defective. Anyone else having this problem?
My right toggle is completely messed up. Backwards is forwards, forwards is backwards, etc etc. Any suggestions?
I have the HD Video Drone +FPV and when I playback what I have recorded, no sound is heard. What do I do? Plus I don't think it records in HD.
When I try to connect my device to the drone NOTHING shows up on the wifi we did everything the manual said but nothing happens we want to record but can't because the iPad or whatever is happening won't work at all!!! What do I do?

Hello, does anybody know where can I get part replacements for this drone? I'm missing one of the guards, and one other is a little bit bent so the blade collides with it when it spins.
Where do I get more motors for this drone? They are sold out or tell me propel when does more come in for this drone i just got it Christmas and I think my motor died. Or if not any please tell me what motor is best for this drone.
The3Bijou someone told me that you could use the 8520 motor as long as it is 3.7 voltage
I bought this drone before Christmas for a decent price at Marshall's and I really do like flying it. I wish the app for the camera worked, tho!!! Also, I'd really like to find a second battery for it, but apparently, it's an older model, so no batteries are to be found. Does anyone know where to get more batteries for this thing?!

I've had mine for awhile and it works great. No problems. However, I am aware that Propel does not seem to back their merchandise as other companies do. Difficult to repair or find replacement batteries and parts. I've been extremely careful with mine as I know that when it breaks it will basically be garbage.

+Propel RC it's more than six months old, flown the times, receipt lost. Doubt your policy does me much good.

So I got someone a gift (niece) for their birthday and they ran it into a tree, now 4 years later i'm finally getting around to repairing it. Just ordered 2 - 7MM Brushed Coreless Motors.
How long can I fly it before the battery needs another charge? I flew it for about 20 mins and it got to the point where the propelers turn ok for about 5 seconds, not strongly enough for it to take of then after the 5 seconds it just turns off.... Can someone explicate why? Please.

Lights should be visible from the ground, as in from underside. You are looking up while flying right? Lost mine due to low visibility from bottom. Otherwise very enjoyable.
How can I make a receiver for my propel remote control
If your controller is not flashing open it and find a loose or disconnected wire and it should work.
When I press the sticks down and in the blades don’t stop they just go faster what do I do?

I usually start my drone with a start button, and it is smaller than yours.
I have 2 of these. Worked with controllers day 1. Then after that won’t sync anymore. One of them tries but loses it pretty much right away.
The phone App works with both and they fly well.
Would love to use the damn controllers though.
At the end of the day I wouldn’t recommend this for beginners. To much hassle to get things working properly.
Mines broken I slightly touch the throttle and it flys up to outer space and then crashes all over the place will I’m not even touching the throttle the lock altitude doesn’t work for me

I’ve followed the steps in the video, but my drone won’t sync. The lights on the drone blink slowly. When I turn the controller on, the center red lights blink. I push the left control switch ip and down, nothing happens. Can someone please help? This is frustrating.

what the difference between HD drone and Propel Maximum X15 Hybrid Stunt Drone HD?
The HD drone is more for cruising and recording video/taking pictures. The stunt drone has the ability to record in HD but not as good as the just HD drone and is more for doing stuns like loop-de-loops and flips. Hope this helps!
