One of the craziest things about this run is that Ursa has been with negative gold since the beginning of the game. And it has only increased as his army grew. Still, he is getting richer and richer just by pillaging LOL So much gold and faith all the time ... By the end of this video he had -292 Gold per turn
Every time I look up & see the income getting lower I keep thinking "Please Ursa, just one card to give you money." Triangular Trade gives +66 gold with his trade routes by the end. I understand that he's getting a lot from pillaging, but eventually he'll run out because the AI doesn't always repair them.
Wow, I've totally never appreciated how strong Macedon's science from building units can be with an all-out war strategy. This playthrough has been incredible for showing how much can truly be done with so much stacked against you.
Normally I watch these unique challenges and think to myself, "I reckon I could give this a shot and make a passable attempt," but I'm 100% certain this would break my brain. No clue how you can keep track of all these units at once. Even the maneuvering to exploit the flagship ability is too much!
A lot of time and practice with big games!! I try to keep my units in battle groups to remember where certain fleets are. Doesn't always work but it's easier when you have like 4 fleets on the map than 28 random boats
Using that +100% naval raider production from lettter of marque dark age card would have been amazing to shoot up your science!! Amazing play through overall
36:20 the reason there are two "Bursa"s is because in Saph's TSL maps, if Ottomans and Byzantium are both present at the game, Ottomans start at the location of the city Bursa, which was the original capital of the empire. It renames the capital from Istanbul to Bursa, so the Constantinople and Istanbul will not be present in the same game. Then, when Ottomans find their 2nd or 3rd city which is programmed to be named Bursa, you get two cities of the same same, wouldn't have happened if Byzantium was not present in the game
Wow this seems good...outside of a 50civ perma-war game, how fast could you win a science victory with this strat? Go all in on unit production, rush the V.Arsenal and then just print units all the way to the end of the tech tree!
I was intrigued at 33:20 you searched for oil and then looked around the map for it. Can't you just hit the little arrows to the left/right of "Found # results" to cycle through them instead of having to eyeball it?
* I was surprised by your vote for a selfish you know won't pass option .Is this is a Dom challenge or is a Diplo victory cheating? * i also thought you were waiting for Crete's barb camp to become a CS to steal rather than just a farm for its units. * The 1-tile island volcano reminds me how much I wish Volcanic Soil affected water tiles. If it isn't going to add yields to water tiles it could at least convert them to land as per reality.
Volcanos creating islands btw is amazing And on these large tsl games, barbs don't form city states because the max has already been hit - the game can only handle 64 "civs" in the game
Oh my God I didn't even realize you were playing on the Mediterranean map. 🤦🏾♂️ too busy bein thirsty for Alexander. It's the little nips on his armor. Just too distracting.

@@TheLonelyBrit conscription and later on levee on masse would help too
Trust me - -300 gold per turn is nothing - I'm looting thousands per turn. I need the cards for other stuff
@@UrsaRyan have you ever considered writing a book on economics?
The campaign continues... This series is so educational!
XD Apparently I'm still learning between Baltics and Balkans though!
@@UrsaRyan I did notice that haha, it's a mistake many people make!

£111 - Somewhere in the Fog of War, the University of Sankore teaches of the war against Macedon.
I found it - it's in arabia and its AGES away
Love the fact that you "recaptured" Greece's territory using Macedon. 😂
That's so pleasing!
Love seeing your empire expand out on the mini-map compared to just how much is still out there. A very hard game indeed!
It's a grind, but we're getting there!

Ursa deserves so much more subscribers. Can’t wait to see this channel have more eyes on it. Excellent content as always. Thank you sir!!
Cheers, really appreciate that! Getting out there is tough work, the algorithm isn't very happy at the moment for whatever reason!
Capturing a fleet, corp, army etc only ever gives you a single captured unit. Had it happen too many times. Still surprises me.
Yeah, shame isn't it! I wish you got more
This is exhausting to watch, let alone play. Well done sir. Amazing game.
Thanks David! Having a blast = )
I question why Bursa was not renamed Bursa-Ryan, particularly after the 2nd, neighbouring Bursa was discovered...
A missed chance!
This may well be your best series yet! Very entertaining.
Cheers Tim = )

A missed chance!
