  • Gaining steam with this piece and really getting it thinned down now at this stage. Setting up platforms mostly with smaller hammerstones and taking off the large flakes with a couple different antler billets, pretty much all freehand in this one. I'm really loving this Root Beer chert, I say that a lot but it really is nice stuff. Have to get more of it.
    Thanks for watching. Cheers.

Sounds like you live in the City somewhere. Glad you have this to keep you grounded in Nature, so to speak.
Take your time thinking on this. I'm anxious to see what it becomes, but take a break when you need too!

Thanks Zoltan! I do live in the city, Hamilton, Ontario, but I plan to move out into the country one day with plenty of land to knap on! I am definitely taking my time on this one, I usually am a pretty slow deliberate knapper, but making an extra effort on this one. It's starting to take shape now, I just filmed part 8 yesterday :)

One thing I've learned about knapping is to be patient...if you get all excited and hurry up trying to get that nice flake... you mess up🤦...good video 👍

Oh yes that's for sure, a lesson I've learned the hard way too many times! I tend to only start knapping now when I feel calm enough for it, too much excitement and I just break everything I touch. Thanks Benny, cheers.
