Went in the water slow at a consistent pace and the car came through without damage. I would bet on a Pajero over a Haval any time. The Haval's build and quality is good but it has too much electronics.
The reason you should not drive into deep water is because you can not see potential debries on the ground. Thats also why insurance will laugh in your face.
Even if you don't instantly damage your engine, water getting into all those modules causes a whole new world of pain when they start shorting out later from water infaltration.
That definitely happens, my wife drove our Vito through deep water in a storm in Cumbria and it survived, however the Aircon fans on the radiator were going berserk and wouldn't shut off, had to pull the fuse on them for a few weeks to stop them while it dried out, and the headlamps were full of moisture till I left the bulb holders open for a while on a sunny day to allow them to dry out.

@@jaygo8442 y wife has a Kodiaq AWD its not really a full on 4x4 its really an AWD it has electronic diff Locks that are as useless, we got stuck in 5 inches of snow near Caithness at Christmas, the front wheels spun but the rears did nothing, FWD Kodiaq is fine if you just want to drive about on Normal roads with your Family or carry lots of kit , FWD SUVs make sense and they are less expensive to run than the heavier AWDs that guzzle fuel and don't really perform any where as good as fulltime 4x4s anyway. Not everyone needs or wants an AWD SUV. I would not have even attempted this in my Discovery sport which has a dedicated 4x4 set up
