Corvette C7 MSD Atomic Intake Manifold Install

- Picked up a Atomic MSD Intake manifold. Install took a few hours but overall is pretty easy. Felt slight change in throttle response after install and possible increase in torque. Had a few leaks after a day of driving so be sure to tighten well if pursuing the install personally. Wont be getting vehicle tuned until after super charger is in.

So I finished installing the MSD Airforce intake, 100mm throttle body, and the Corsa cold air intake. Other than the throttle body I thought it was all plug-and play. I got a check engine light for Bank One everything else I did was really good, I called the tune specialist and he said I definitely need to get it tuned now, the air flow is a dramatic difference and the Bank One Sensor One shows there's a airflow problem. I'm excited to get it done and it will fix the check engine light.

Good real life, garage mechanic stuff my man ! I'm adding a cam, ported heads and MDS to my supercharged Z51. After the blower was installed it dyno'd at 525whp, then I swapped the stock exhaust for a Corsa Extreme ( no long tubes here in sunny California), we'll see how close I get to 600whp now, thanks again for a great how-to video !

@@montiz333 I'll be at my mechanic's shop today so he can fire it up for the first time since all the engine mods were done, then I'm scheduling dyno-tuning time, it'll all be on my UA-cam channel, NBC-Nothing But Corvettes

@@montiz333 Cool ! I'll be comparing the 525 WHP the car made after my A&A blower was installed. One issue not resolved was fitting my Katech 95mm tb to the snout of the MDS manifold, it just doesn't fit so we had no choice except to reinstall the stock tb. I'll contact Katech t find out what the deal is.
@@montiz333 happy new year! Wanna check on the MSD manifold installation, I had to remove mine, I was having my car tuned and they told me the MSD was leaking air like crazy even after having all the torque specs followed. How did yours work out?

cool video. I bought a the same msd air intake but havent had a chance to install it yet but I did buy some long tube headers at the same time. Keep up the cool upgrade videos
It’s an easy install just make sure you do it properly might even have a shop do it. Cause these things leak at the slightest imperfections.
@@montiz333 thanks for the advice. I had a chevrolet dealership quote me around $275 so that would be worth the headache and if something goes wrong they can fix it

I actually took it to a shop and they reinstalled the manifold and the CEL still didnt go away. So I reinstalled the stock one. They suggested i get a tune.
My 19 grandsport has a 8 yr warranty on all that shit. Helps me sleep better at night bro

Did you have problems with the brake booster fitting going on,, is it supposed to go all the way in or half way but it’s tight

It should go all the way in and seat. You shouldnt be able to pull it out once its seated.
The MSD added 11 HP to my e85 full exhaust after a new tune for a total of 472 at the wheels. GM CAI is bogging me down. Up next is a Halltech and 95 mm TB. Should be pushing 500 at the wheels after another tune on a cold day.

To be honest im not sure bro they say its good for 20 -30 HP without being tuned. I felt a difference my first pull with it on so its definitely an increase. If you pick one up I would say get a throttle body also. Maximize the gains bro lol.

yo i got a question!! Since your getting the lt4 supercharger for the vette why change the intake manifold????
a few reasons a little indecision lol and a little opportunity, LT4 just seemed like to much extra. Then one of my coworkers had a friend selling a A&A Super charger. I just had to wait until he sold the car to get it. So I picked this up in the meantime.

@@cargeekmeek8391 I do, after talking with some tuners and other guys who have gone down this road. From what I have been told I need to get the intake manifold ported first tho. I've been having a hard time finding a shop near me that does it.
@@montiz333 try jokerz performance with getting the manifold ported. I was planning on getting a c7 stingray or z51 in like 3 to 4 months. Also you should do a wat to look for when buying a c7 video

Naw fits right in place with the stock equipment. The MSD manifold does have the necessary attachments if you want to do meth injections tho which is pretty cool.
How has everything been since you reinstalled it?
Great now. Im an idiot I forgot the lock-tite AND the throttle body gasket...lol..... so I ran back through it added the locktite and gasket and my codes went away with just driving around, didnt even need to clear them. I will say tho if your looking to really make the car faster probably skip this and go for the blower.... the difference I could feel initially I got use to pretty quickly lol
did you figure out how to get your covers to stay on?
Yea I took the electric tape off and used some 3M temflex tape, that works waaaaaaaay better
@@montiz333 are they still a little lose or do they fit pretty snug. that's what I'm trying to fix now. mine are still a little lose.

I did but its expired now. Thats why I was like "eff it" lets add the boost lol
you didn't have to change your Throttle body to a 103?
No it comes with an adapter to work with the OEM TB. You can use a larger one also without any issues.
@@montiz333 yeah just ordered one i also upgraded to the 103 throttle body because i will have CSP install a cam and tune. Excited!

@@montiz333 No modification to throttle body required. Nick Williams 103mm throttle body bolt on. This all will come in handy when CSP installs a pro-charger and Cams. It gets tuned by them next week.
