So spot on. Not to mention I don’t trust google enough to send my personal messages through their app. I don’t care if all I text about is funny jokes and groceries. They’re still my private nonsense messages and Google is so untrustworthy.
Google's UI looks... playful. It looks great on Pixels, but on Samsung phones samsung messages looks better. It feels more native, and if you use other samsung apps like notes calendar phone it makes more sense design wise. My only issue with Samsung Messages is that it doesn't have emoji reactions, and replies. That sucks.
I prefer Samsung message over Google. I only wish it had the reaction to text feature tho. Other than that I love we can customize and create stickers from our pictures. Plus the bubble chat is outstanding on Samsung but on Google doesn't always work.
1 important thing google messages is missing. Categories. Putting people in categories in texts. I use it. Family. Friends. Business. Its huge. And a deal breaker since im texting 24/7
The reason why I go with Samsung Messages is solely because of the overall UI. I want it to be cohesive and continual. The dark mode on One UI is much darker.
Is Google messaging similar to iPhone messaging? Will you lose features of Samsung messaging if you switch? It keep telling me if I want to switch, but I need more info. Sorry, but this video didn't clearly state the pros and cons of switching from Samsung to Google messages....😒
I love how you can categorize messages in sm, where you can differentiate messages from family, work and friends. The thing is you have to manually identify spams and block it. While in the gm it's automatically categorized in spam messages
@imabananavr1136 YES, I can go to an individual text and go to settings and put whatever background, I usually have a background related to that person, or a photo of them. Love it!❤
I prefer samsung messages I love the customisations and the fact you can categorise your messages and i can send photos and attachments to everyone unlike on google messages which can only be sent to a few
same bro, I head this guy non-stop yapping about "new features" and after scrolling in the comments I've been convinced to disable google messages on my s22
Switched from google to samsung because google wont send my texts sometimes unless the other person "is online" while samsung will send it regardless. Quite irritating tbh. Wish we were able to change bubble colors tho! So i can easily tell whos who in a group chat
In Samsung messages? You can. If you’re using a Samsung you should probably know Good lock. In there you can customize just about everything you want. You can change colors of the drop-down tab, settings menu, messages, calls etc. everything. Theme park, which is one of the apps within Good lock, is one way to do this
Can you create folders in Google messages? That’s about the only thing stopping me from moving Samsung Messages > Google Messages. I have several folders in Samsung messages where I group similar content, e-prescriptions etc
Because of one UI Samsung mess looks way better, down to the emojis and different color layouts. The only advantage to Google mess is the iPhone feature where you can hold on a text message and ❤ 👍🏾
The one feature that I would love to see added to Samsung Messages is the 'Swipe Reply' feature that's available in Google Messages, WhatsApp, FB Messenger etc. It's something I use on such a regular basis, I think I'd struggle without it.
You clearly have never used categories on Samsung messages. Once you use a feature like that it's really difficult to go back to a messaging app that just puts all your messages in one disorganized clump
Google messages needs a category feature like what Samsung messages has. The old category system it used to have was basically pointless as there was no way to set up the categories or personalize them. It was basically all ai run which is pretty annoying. I mean I get the automated organization in terms of the one time pass codes I actually liked that going to its own category and automatically deleting them. But I'd still prefer to also be able to set up my own categories so I'm not scrolling to look for a number it feels outdated
@peggylegg6222 samsung moved over to Google messages. (As he stated already in the video) and id prefer to keep rcs functionality. I don't really care if it's samsung messages getting an update to support it, (not likely) or if it's Google messages fixing thier message organization. The main selling points for me with rcs is read receipts, as well as not having such small memory limits with photos and videos/mms messages. With samsung messages you can pretty easily in my experience try to send a message or picture, and end up getting an error because the "file size is too large". Both messaging apps definitely have thier draw backs. I've looked around for alternatives, and it seems like every rcs messaging app is a clone of some kind of the Facebook messenger layout or hangouts. Im not sure why nobody has bothered to add what most people would consider basic functions to an rcs messaging app.
What i dont like about Google messages which feels like they are tracking us is when you delete a message its gone for good but in Samsung messages it stays in Delete Folder for 30 days
I second that! For Google messaging it looks like it does the deleted msgs somewhere in the "cloud" I don't like that at all!! Why can't you just have a trash folder like Samsung messaging where I can easily retrieve a deleted text msg.
I started using google messages when I got my new phone. I assumed the visual difference was because my phone was new. I didnt know it was a whole different program. 😅
Google messages won't update with the theme, and my phone doesn't even come with Samsung messages. Do I have to download it? And who the fuck is Simple Alpaca to be deciding FOR US which one we should use??? It's our own phones, we can make our own decisions... 🧐🧐🧐 He states at 0:19 he prefers everyone to use Google messages. HE'S NOT USING MY PHONE! 😐😐
How do either of these options work with iphones. Does the video quality decrease the same amount when you send a video to an apple user? Does it give you the option to react to apple messages and does it give you the same error message when an apple user reacts to yours "Loved 'message bla bla' "
Google Messages for me for a few reasons, the primary being that I can open messages as a browser tab on my computer and sync with my phone. I prefer when working from home to send messages from the computer instead of the phone.
I just wish we could customize the background of the main messages. Like, the conversation list. I know you can customize the background of certain conversations and customize the chat room, but the background of the entire conversation list is just plain. It's either an all white background or an all dark background depending on if you have your phone on dark mode or not.
The category feature on Samsung makes it 1 billion times better than Google. Organization and a clean UI is 👑 King. I don't care if it does look too 5UI or whatever that's supposed to mean.. if UI means streamlined, visually appealing, and easy to access your favorite conversations in seconds, then I like the UI from Samsung. I like it so much it's the only reason why I won't switch to other Android phones.
I tried & I dislike Google messages. Theyre phasing out my Verizon messages, i switched to Samsung mess. & that might be going away. WTH is going on?!?!
I'm so frustrated with the messaging system. Can't send a video or it's blurry OR I gotta send a Google link wtf? Does someone know how to fix this problem?
You left out Windows 11. Example: I have a windows app that brings up my phone and all the stuff my phone has on my monitor. I can type my 50 wpm using my keyboard instead of one finger on a qwerty. Not sure any of these messengers do much more than my PC and Keyboard can do to my phone. Only concern with these messengers is this with me. I can type in samsung messenger but it stops in a certain amount of characters. But when I type a super long message in notepad, I can copy the entire msg in notepad and paste it in messenger and it sends the message without trunkating it. Just strange.
Well, as of today's update, they merged together and I do NOT like it! I like the Samsung msg over Google. Now I can not send video messages like I used to! I want the Samsung msg back!
Ive read everywhere people saying "oh i prefer google, cause A is better than B" while these comments are "I prefer Samsung over google cause X is better than Y." Like what the funk, make up yalls damn mind internet XDDD
I've been using Samsung Messages for years... Then I downloaded Google Messages to see how it has changed. I realized that it can send/receive 48MB messages! Or at least that's how I understood it. That's a decent sized video in 1080p with decent quality. I have no idea what the size limit for Samsung messages are.. lemme see if I can find it. Wait, I think you can set it to "Carrier has no limit". So, maybe Samsung actually wins on that and I just haven't changed the setting. Or maybe I'm misinformed?

I wish Google Messages would let you copy and past from one person to the next. I know they have share but if I only want a number out of that text it doesnt work
In samsung messages is there a way to make participants stand out in the group messages? The way mine is it just says the persons name above the message. I preferred the colored circles with the persons first initial next to there name.😊
I want to stay with Samsung we shouldnt be forced into using google. I like samsung so much better. I am a texter one thing I am not happy about now I don't have the delivered proof on mine.
This video is like two people in an office arguing fiercely over which is the best horse and carriage to use daily for transport - and you tell them “have you heard of a car?” And they look at you and say “what is that?”. This is how this subject sounds to non Americans. Have you heard of WhatsApp? Do you guys live in a cave?
I do like samsung messages customization options/the look of the UI FAR more than google messages, but one thing that bugs me about samsung messages is that in group chats it doesnt show the members pfps along with there messages so it gets pretty difficult to follow along with the conversations, hence why i struggle to choose either google or samsung messages app
This was confusing, the voice over did not match the phone you were holding. So I was confused which was which. I ended up just listening instead of watching.
For groupchat whenever I wanna add someone to a group it creates a separate group instead of adding them to the current group why is that Are messages encrypted. Is this app safe and secure to use. If not are there any other secure messaging apps to use Is there a way to reply to a specific person in a group. Like if you only wanna respond to one person And when i send messages it doesn't show sent delivered or read it will just show sms underneath the message
I want to customise my chat background for specific people, I could do it on my S20 but can't find the 'customise' option anywhere on my S24 ? I only just managed to set a custom notification on it... is there a way to do it on Google messages? I'm not liking it so far ... 😢
I switched from Samsung Messages to Google Messages and haven't looked back. Google Messages feels and looks more premium and not janky (like most other Samsung apps)
Google messages does not send to each of your contacts! I had a few sms sent and the other person never received it! Samsung Messages is better in my experience on an S10+
My phone updated today and I un-installed the update and disabled google messages. I've never even heard of Google messages until today. I just feel like Google will download all of my messages somehow.
Hi do anyone know how to change the message notification on galaxy a 23..I want to make a separate tone for messages only but I can only change the tone for all notifications
Which do you think will be the last Galaxy S phone to even have Samsung Messages installed? As an analogy, the S7 (technically the Note 7) was the last Galaxy Flagship to have S Voice before getting replaced by Bixby
The S24 is a game changer. The AI on the Samsung S24 Ultra is definitely superior to Pixel 8 phones. The reason I don't play around with 3rd party app launchers any more is because 1UI is better. Samsung messager is so fucking awful, its so user unfriendly and lacks all basic messager features. I kinda did the same thing just not for as long lol.. talk to text is what i always used and it was so bad on Samsung.. then i switched to google and it understood everything... nice smooth and quick..
samsung messages has categories/ groups that you can make to organize your texts, Google messages doesn't have this. Although samsung messages doesn't let you name group texts, while Google messages does.
I was doing my head in with this and I only started to see the big G on top of my phone message app and couldn't understand what Google had to do with samsung 👍
I prefer Samsung Messages just because I prefer the more organized UI whereas google's UI just feels outdated and clunky
Fr Google needs to seriously update their UI
It feels like I'm using an app that's made for Marshmallow version
Yes I love Samsung UI designs so beautiful and useful idk why google doesn't fix Ui of messages by Google
So spot on. Not to mention I don’t trust google enough to send my personal messages through their app. I don’t care if all I text about is funny jokes and groceries. They’re still my private nonsense messages and Google is so untrustworthy.

He's a toxic Internet user. Google Messages has become more than just a basic SMS, and it's great. It has come such a long way.
Google wants to be in everyone's business now.
Bruh. This is exactly what I'm saying.
Bro chose to speak FACTS
Very true
I prefer Samsung message over Google. I only wish it had the reaction to text feature tho. Other than that I love we can customize and create stickers from our pictures. Plus the bubble chat is outstanding on Samsung but on Google doesn't always work.
How do you create the bubble chat on samsung messages
@@prettyne_xo open messages, hit 3 dots at the top, select settings, notifications, notification categories, show as bubbles, select All
Seems some version of android has that react to text feature....
I read Samsung's next door not going to have messenge soon

Thank you for the clarification. My phone keeps telling me to update to Google Message but Category is super important for me too.
Amen, I WISH I had noticed this before I updated mine. I loved the categories, they definitely need to add categories.
The reason why I go with Samsung Messages is solely because of the overall UI. I want it to be cohesive and continual. The dark mode on One UI is much darker.
I prefer Samsung because you can have a contact wallpaper for each of your contacts.
I haven't found this to be available in Google Messages
U need Google dialer app for that to work
Exactly and it let's me add a tag on my messages.
Is Google messaging similar to iPhone messaging? Will you lose features of Samsung messaging if you switch? It keep telling me if I want to switch, but I need more info. Sorry, but this video didn't clearly state the pros and cons of switching from Samsung to Google messages....😒
Agreed@@pualenaisz4403
The video should have been labeled " why I hate Samsung meesenger"... cuz instead of comparing you were just basically dogging samsung mesenger😂
Yeah basically lol
Samsung apps and software are trash tho!
Lol
I'm supposed to believe this is the one and only Google App that isn't data harvesting?? 😂😂
The video should be called Google fanboy talks about why Google messaging is better

You can change the background image for every conversation on samsung. Also samsung has a font store with some unique fonts
I've had a samsung for 5 years i didn't know you can change the background images on samsung messages
@imabananavr1136 YES, I can go to an individual text and go to settings and put whatever background, I usually have a background related to that person, or a photo of them. Love it!❤

same bro, I head this guy non-stop yapping about "new features" and after scrolling in the comments I've been convinced to disable google messages on my s22

I use Samsung Messages because of the Schedule Message option and also it doesnt kill the quality of pictures like Googe Messages
@@412Walk just saw that. The quality of pictures on Google is just horrific if it's not through RCS

Stay with Samsung
Samsung messages has an actual dark mode and looks so much better overall.
Scheduled messages in Samsung messages is unmatched. It's a killer feature. That alone makes it the winner imo. Not to mention the clipboard feature.
You can do this on Google messenges too. Hit the + and select schedule send

I know, right? It's everywhere, even on my tv. Feel like I'm being spied on 24/7.
Wich one sends the best hd videos?
THIS is the question that should be at the top
You absolutely can send gifs with Samsung messages. And it's been that way for a while.
You left out Windows 11. Example: I have a windows app that brings up my phone and all the stuff my phone has on my monitor. I can type my 50 wpm using my keyboard instead of one finger on a qwerty. I can't like a message in samsung 😢

Which one can I?
Why do videos in Google messenger hv 2b so short like 1 to 2 seconds...after that it always says you have 2 trim the video

Id Like to see just samsungs integration software with no android.
You can absolutely send gifs in Samsung msgs.
Hell yeah
Yes, I was scratching my head when he said that in the video because I send those things all the time in my samsung msgs.

samsung messages has categories/ groups that you can make to organize your texts, Google messages doesn't have this. Although samsung messages doesn't let you name group texts, while Google messages does.
From what i heard, Samsung was forced by Google to switch the default app to Google Messages, it was not their own decision.
I was doing my head in with this and I only started to see the big G on top of my phone message app and couldn't understand what Google had to do with samsung 👍
Google message text timer doesn't work anymore since update. Stays as draft and never sends at time
Can you change the background on Google messaging?
Samsung has a option called quick response. I cant find it in the Google messages
I like the Samsung messages cause you can change the txt wallpaper
Still looks better with google...
I was with you up until you pronounced it "JIFS". Lol
Which is better for privacy? I once had apple device cloned against my permission.
Only thing I noticed about samsung messages you can change chat background But not on Google a14 5g there's no options to customize
