Urgent Animal Feeding after unexpected snowfall

- Often here in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania, the weather channel is wrong more than they are right. I feel a lot of people deal with the same thing across the world. We were not expected to get much of a snowfall but when we woke up, we discovered we got several inches Jack and Jasper have been gradually grazing off of the pasture, but since the snow covered it up pretty good, we had to get them fresh hay!

Good tip about the skid steer door, not to long ago I saw Larry and Robin get stuck outside their skid steer! They ended up having to loosen the hydraulic lines to let fluid out so they could get the cylinders down below the door.

Haha. Yeah they love to eat and I’ll be honest I haven’t been hit with the fence too many times twice in one day was a little crazy. I must’ve had moisture in my clothing because I’ve done that 1000 times and never got hit. 🤷🏻♂️🤣

I guess that’s one advantage of a tractor over a skid loader. You can elevate a load on a tractor to any work height and not have to worry about the door. Jack and Jasper was happy to see you😂
Yeah for sure tractor is a lot nicer for getting in and out of the cab. I want to buy a hay spear but they are crazy expensive you’re talking $600 so I just make do with the forks. Jack and Jasper are always happy to see Food. 🤣
Jack was chewing away the minute you arrived. The vet used to say our miniature dachshund was overweight but he was happy.

Thank you ! Microphone system does work well everything I do is spur the moment so sometimes it’s hard getting everything set up but I’ve been trying to use them more because it’s much clear audio

That door design is definitely a pain. The right equipment makes the job a lot easier, but by the way you flipped the bale you are clearly a machine yourself!

Good morning Tom, can’t help but notice all the fun you’re having trying to get that net on that round bale lol. Hey if you have a second hay net or don’t mind buying a second hay net, you could put that hay on up on the flat ground inside your pole building for the time being, it’s much flatter up there. What I would do in your situation while the bail is in close vicinity of the forks, but still on the ground I would go through the painstaking task of getting it wrapped in the net while it’s already in the net, then roll it onto your forks that way the net doesn’t get caught on your forks when you back out of it at its final resting place. Once you have two of those bail nets, you could just keep them in rotation. Just a thought.🙂👍 have a good weekend my friend be safe.
Hey John. Yeah I’ve thought a bunch of different ways of doing it. That seems like a pretty good idea as well. I’m hoping spring comes soon. This is the last time I have to feed with round bale they can start eating off the land give me a break from getting shocked with the electric fence 🤣

Yeah, trust me buddy I have thought about it being trapped in there in a rollover situation. It does have a back window that has a emergency escape tab, but still still a terrible design.
I HATE skid steers that require the loader to be all the way down. One time I got in a pickle in CAT with a log and grapple and the door was missing by an inch or so. Pretty dumb.

We have a bobcat s750 at work, and the door is the same way.
I hate it. We actually took the door off of the one 232. We use the most at work because it always was trapping you inside. I was actually just on a job today. Guy had a brand new three series 75 Kubota what is very nice thinking about switching name brands
