REAR BRAKE with the Tiptoe ..... you have to learn how to use the rear brake = absolutely fundamental LOW SPEED and take advantage of the SPRING rebound of the fork for raise the front wheel with the "shoot - throttle" / central position, only slightly further back / learn how to get it down by pressing the rear brake / do exercises on the grassy lawn ... otherwise if you fall down on asphalt, you do a lot of damage 😱😱 learn on the grassy lawn !!!!
Luke appreciate the advice! I think I need to reach out your way for the sound advice and experience you deliver, among other things I got some big plans upcoming for our rider group! Let me know if you’re free for a chat, if you have Instagram I’m @motormigo
I love the channel, the 300 rally is my first ADV bike been riding street for 20+ years and I seriously feel so far out of my comfort zone in this style of riding, but I’ve never had this much fun on two wheels.
Dude. Love the enthusiasm and the mustache. I just scored a ktm400 but I need more of an adventure bike, your reviews have pushed me to the crf300 rally 👌
It's all about getting sufficient seat time and learning how to use the rear brake. Since these bikes are more underpowered, you're going to need to position yourself further back on the seat and shift your weight more dramatically when clutching up - all while keeping rear brake coverage. Just take your time and you'll get more and more comfortable with the front wheel getting higher and higer. I've been making videos doing wheelies on my CRF250L and have made a ton of progress in just a few months [which is even harder than the 300L!]💪💪
Hey Connor, I really appreciate the insight and this is the kind of education / advice that will make a difference. It’d be cool to chat on a cool idea I’m working on. 🇺🇸🏍🤙 yeah the wheel lifting is intimidating for sure
Nice video mate. I’ve just got a 300 Rally myself. Traded in my Africa Twin for something more manageable to learn off road skill on. I’m following/mirroring your progress on the other side of the pond. Cheers mate 👍. Did you have any problems fitting the acerbis handguards by the way? 🤷🏻♂️
It’s definitely a tight fit, I put them on protaper SE handlebars so idk how the stock bar is. Wow that means a lot 🤙 glad you enjoy the content and the light weight definitely makes a difference
I've found that the front/rear gear ratio on these bikes is way lower than a dirt bike. I messed around with wheelies a little bit on my 300L but now I've decided to wait and add more teeth to the rear sprocket. At a stock 14/40, I think you're committed to fast wheelies on this bike . I'm going with 14/52 and hopefully it will be able to wheelie much easier allowing for much slower speeds.
Are you doing satire? 😅I’m not attempting to be rude. You just remind me of Charlie from its always sunny… also, it seems like you are purposely adding satire by your phrasing and motions and delivery. I only ask because no one in the comments mentions it or laugh faces or anything. It’s like you’re Andy Kaufman goofing the audience to a certain degree, and they don’t even know it😂. If it’s intentional, it’s brilliant. If that’s just you, then 🤙 carry on. Either way, thanks for the upload. I found it entertaining and interesting
I have one of the best models 2017 full front and back ohlins feels absolutely amazing also got the Ejk electronic jet kit stage 1 intake IMS large tank seat made my seat comfort alot of upgrades but One of the best rides ive ridden waiting on exhaust and already im beating a stock 300 with np just feels awsome im able to hang with the 300 without a struggle and to wheelie feels like it got great power compared to stock and with wheeling it has to be drilled ik your head clutch up brake clutch up brake clutch up brake gotta crawl before you can walk

Brake and clutch. Tap the back brake to bring front wheel down, but pull in the clutch to prevent a wild leg dragging crash...

Awesome!!!! That makes two of us! Glad you’re on the team, I got a big update coming up soon
