Our first Malaysia Independence Day was AMAZING!! ❤❤❤ Malaysians are so sweet and friendly! Thankful to be a part of this wonderful celebration 🎉 What should we do next in Malaysia? 🇲🇾 😊
Around 2:12 minutes - Prime Minister motorcade 2:55 - King's motorcade (he drove his own Rolls-Royce) 3:02 - National Anthem (Negara Ku) 4:04 - Recital of Rukun Negara (National Principles) parade begin after that...
Most locals who are enjoying a chill time over breakfast wouldn't mind sharing their table with you if you didn't have a camera in hand. Not everyone enjoys being on camera.😅
I am very sorry about what happened to u in ICC. It is frustrating, about those finished their food but still not leaving their table… unless they are old auntie uncle who are having their social there. Else I strongly advice whoever been ICC to leave the table faster after meal finished. Cos ICC is for food and old auntie uncle for social. Not for us for chit chat there 😅😅😅 I seen a young group of ppl taking table for 8 seaters, finished eating but still occupied the seat, even next to them is a old uncle (70 years old) standing and waiting their table for his big group family. 🤦♀️🤦♀️ very inconsiderate.
What a challenging efforts you guys gone through. Over crowded area for the most awaited celebration each year. All I can say is.. salute and have a wonderful stay in Malaysia 🇲🇾
Usually when you see crowds like that overseas in the news is usually riots but not in Msia . Here people gather to show love for their country. God bless Malaysia .
glad you guys made it to Putrajaya and had some traditional grub in Pudu :) By the way, sometimes you can actually share a table in food courts when it gets crowded, Malaysians understands this :), O, yea, next time mixing the two sauces first and then try dipping :) Have fun exploring Malaysia's food scene. Definitely a precarious nasi lemak-eating-with-your-hands-situation in bed, of all places, guys! :)
Hello, sir. What an extraordinary experience for you to be able to see Malaysia's Independence Day. If I may, I suggest that next year try to come to Indonesia and witness Indonesia's independence day, which falls on August 17th to be precise. This will be a different experience for you, because in Indonesia there are many interesting and exciting events to watch in August. happy holidays to you.
Yes, it was! Thank you for the invitation/suggestion! We will definitely consider it for 2025. Sounds very interesting! Btw, where is it being held next year?
My heart touched everytime i saw video from foreigners abt our merdeka celebration. Thnks guys for being part of our celebration! Dont miss your chance to join keretapi sarong 2024. It is another parade celebrating our Malaysia Day. It will be happening on 14th Sept 2024. It is more happening and i can assure you will enjoy it!
Thank you so very much! 🥰❤️🫰🙏 Absolutely our pleasure and we’re glad to be able to celebrate with you all! Oh! 😕 Not going to be able to make that. Wish we had known before. Is that the 14th of every year in September?
If I'm there, I am willing to share the table with you guys...problem is I'm staying in Ipoh....however welcome back to Malaysia...Selamat hari Merdeka
Hi, Malaysians popish have many version by different ethnics. Popiah basic ingredients are slice veges like sen kuan, carrot, tiny shrimp or crab meat , tau kua, lettuce, n sweet n chilli sauce over it. N drape with seng kuan shrimp base soup
Wow, u both still in Malaysia. You have migrated to Malaysia😂? Coz I saw u travel here like few months ago... Great u able make it to see the merdaka celebrations and hope u guys enjoy the celebrations
Yes! We are leaving tomorrow 😁 We do love Malaysia! It’s hard not to keep coming back 😃 Us too! We had a blast! So happy everyone was so excited and enthusiastic
Back to Thailand. We have our 15yr old dog there. Honestly, Malaysia is another country we can totally see ourselves living in the possible future. It’s so beautiful!
I was in Malaysia Johor yesterday too😂 next time you guys can try taking train to Singapore from Johor. train rides are usually just 5 mins journey. But tickets have to try your luck to purchase it.😅
i'm sorry you guys had to stand and eat! normally people are generous with sharing their tables. also, since you were in Putrajaya, you should have gone to the IOI Mall there, which is the biggest mall in Klang Valley, I believe. it's MASSIVE. but then again, i wouldn't recommend going there on a public holiday or on weekends. it's super crazy packed. (btw, chee cheong fun and popiah are my faves.)
No worries 😃 It wasn’t a big deal Maybe they were mostly foreigners 😅. That would’ve been cool! Definitely didn’t know about that. Nice! They were pretty good! 😃
See you enjoy eating Nasi Lemak , as local 3 more type of nasi you should try 1 ) Nasi kerabu ( blue rice ) , 2 ) Nasi dagang n 3 ) nasi briyani . those 4 are main n common nasi local eat
Go ICC pudu getting seat more important , one people need to take care the seat another made order n always remember seat nos ( order will send to you )
Hmm.. you're right, mostly average food there, only a few things are good and you missed them lol; 1) Lala noodles soup 2) Fried Kuih Bakul (Stall no. G-11) 3) Yellow wine chicken bun
I’m local and I’ll go to ICC only when I have visitors from other state/country. Those patrons who have finished their meal and refuse to leave are most likely waiting for tourist transport pickup.
In Indonesia, only political elits are invited for National Day celebration, general public are excluded. Hence we can see some comments from ultra jealous people as a way to throw their anger to their noninclusive government 😀
you should be there early and believe me some of the crowds been there since 12am.i think it’s quite a waste that you left the parade early.. but, afterall it’s your choice not ours 😅 yes, it does crowded as reported by the news, there’re 100k++ of crowds /locals / malaysians yesterday. to me, the parade quite systematic as i’ve been there yesterday (August,31) the Government / authorities were trying their best and thank god there is NO incident happened yesterday according to the news.
I feel bad for you for not getting a shared table in icc pudu. I definitely wont mind sharing if there is spare seats. Its un-malaysian to not sharirng empty chairs around you when they have not been occupied, or at least explain to eaters why you cant spare them (like waiting for friends to arrive and etc).
So sad those ppl not willing to share seat with u guys tourists. They're so bad. I always happy to share seat with ppl. Actually you can just ask anyone sitting, if no then just go and sit. No need to ask their permission whether u can share or not. Coz those seats are public and not belonging to them. They have no right to reject you to sit. I'm so sorry my country ppl so selfish with bad impressions
Maybe they were tourists 😅 Not a problem! No need to apologize on their behalf. It was pretty hectic in there so we understand. Thank you anyways 🥰❤️🫰🙏
I cannot stand those people who've finished eating and are still not vacating their seats. They are just inconsiderate AF! It's ok to take your time if no one is waiting for the table, but when it's as busy as this, please consider other people who are also trying to eat there. In my past experience with those not willing to share a table, I found that these are mostly the younger generation.
It’s definitely unfortunate but there’s nothing we could do 🤷. Totally understand exactly what you’re talking about. We’ve learned to just accept/not let it bother us. It’s not worth getting upset about 😉

That’s why we were shocked because we asked off Camera but then again we’re thinking they were probably tourists 😅.
Malaysian love sharing meal time and I assume they might be foreigner, you can enjoy the vibes at mamak' restaurant or nasi kandar❤
That’s what it seemed like when we first came, that’s why we were shocked this time around. Thanks for the recommendations! 🥰🫰❤️🙏

That was our first time trying it. Any particular place that’s your favorite for Popiah?
Mix that sauce up. Haha. The chili normally they use kampong koh chilli sauce for dim sum and yong tau foo and we like it.
Next time will have to do that 😃

I think the point of the chee chong fun is really not the shrimps. Its there to infuse the favor to the rice cover when they boil it.

Interesting! I thought everyone celebrates it 🤔
