*Warning* After 2 months of extremely little driving, all the hardware shows signs of rust. I've contacted the manufacturer and was told that all the hardware is supposed to be made from stainless steel with a black oxide finish. They are not supposed to rust. For those who have purchased these mud flaps and those who are considering buying, PAY ATTENTION TO THE HARDWARE. Make sure to check them periodically to see that they are not rusting. If they are, contact the manufacturer because you may have gotten a bad batch of hardware. Rek Gen will ship you a new set of hardware.
You are the *ONLY* youtuber that is making sense on the issue of the stock mudflaps. I want them longer and flexible. Weathertech and Husky both make stiff-as-a-board aftermarket flaps, but I don't want them to be so short and so stiff. A hit on them could damage *my precious*
Great quality video. How much further could you push them past the fender well? I know there is some adjustment left to right. Trying to avoid going to the XL if not needed. My stock OEM flaps are around 10 inches wide. However I run a 285 75 16 tire with 1.5 inch spacers. My tires are 10 inches wide. My oem flaps are 10 inches wide. But my tires stick out 2 inches past the fender well lol.
I purchased the regular size because it can sit flushed against the outer edge of the fender flares. From my understanding, the XL always sits about an inch past the flares (at the least). This just wasn't a look that I wanted. With the regular size, they can sit flushed or slightly past the flares. There is some room for adjustment, as shown in the video. With the XL, they sit an inch past the flares or even further out. In my opinion, the regular looks better but the XL functions better because they cover more of the tires and block more debris that the tires are flinging. Also, if you have wider tires, then the XL is the clear way to go.
Thank you for the video. The hardware I receive. For the install the mud flaps for the rear Is and Screw washer That's it? I do not have to put the spacers. Yes or no? For the rear Thank you so much once again.
Love your channel Hai !!! I just purchased these after I seen how trick they look on our trd pros.. You still happy with them, and do they protect the truck as like the oems that we had from Toyota. Toyotas are a lot harder, I like how these are more flexable.
I think it’s fine for what it is. I would like it more if it were more flexible. I also don’t like the new logo and wish it was still the more minimal design from previous years. Other than that, they seem to be serving their purpose.
Any update on how they’ve held up? I need mudflaps because there’s way too much rocks getting kicked up hitting my paint while I drive on gravel, but I do a lot of offroading so I need something with a lot of flex so they won’t brake

I've just received and installed a new set of hardware from RekGen. Hopefully, this set will hold up. I'll post another update if needed.
Just ordered some. Thanks for the heads up. Especially because I’m in FL and in salt 24/7 😂
Definitely keep an eye out and check up on the hardware then!
I appreciate you for doing this video and thanks fir the heads up because mine are arriving today!
@@HaiTran Did the replacement hardware end up rusting too? and did you keep them long-term?

Whatever works 👍🏽
Great video. I was wondering how flexible they would be. Im glad to see that for my use, they seem too stiff.
Good luck elsewhere 👍🏽
Where’d you find more flexible mud flaps? All the ones I am finding are stiff
@@kemptonbryan Just look for Rek Gen Mud Flaps
Just installed some Rek Gen flaps and they still have the spacers labeled wrong. Other than that, they do look good and hopefully protect my truck.
thats cool bros...thanks for taking the time
You’re welcome!

Unfortunate, I’ve sold the truck so won’t be able to check. Hopefully, someone else can help.
@@HaiTran don't tell me you sold the tacoma for that bmw!?
Then I sold that for a Venza. The Venza will likely be gone in the near future for the new 4Runner or Tacoma. Only time will tell.
Did you consider buying the Offroad XL size? I mainly drive gravel roads and was wondering your preference on the stock or Offroad XL size?

I'm going to have to ask you to re-write that comment if you want a proper response. It does 't make enough sense for me to answer.
Thanks man! How much longer are those then the OEM mudflaps?
I don't have the mud flaps or truck any more so can't tell you.

No further updates as I’ve already sold the truck.
I love your Channel. I just order the same with black. letters I'm wondering if if it's fit rims are 20x12 44 offset. I hope it works.
Best of luck. Hopefully, they'll fit!
Thanks
You're welcome!
crock crock 1
Did they end up covering that offset? If so any rock chips
What kind of side steps are those? They look clean!
I have these ua-cam.com/video/ibWQcHZUHKg/v-deo.html
how did you put the screw in the inner hole because mine only has that hole with a plastic plug in it
That was addressed in the video. You screw into the plug.
The regular vs xl what is the difference between i mean the xl a 12 inch larger en the regular are 11 inch but with the length ?
It's a side to side width difference to cover different sized tires.
The hardware I got did not come with spacers. Only screws and washers
Sounds like something to tell the manufacturer.
Did you pick these up at Amazon? I only see white available.
The other colors must be temporarily unavailable because they had a bunch of different colors the last time I checked.
I bought these and just tried to install. The fronts look great. The holes for the rear flaps don't line up on my 19 TRDOR.
That's too bad to hear. You should try contacting the manufacturer.
I emailed them. We will see what they have to say. I can modify the flap by drilling a top hole but there is no inside shim hole.
I need flat mud flaps like these for my Tundra 2020 with fender flares, but unfortunately Rek Gen doesn't make them for Tundra 😢
That’s too bad. Hopefully you’ll be able to find an alternative 👍🏽
My back set didn’t not line up
You should contact the manufacturer about that.
I have a 2017
Awesome 👍🏽
