I would have thought with the horsepower you have the altitude would not have been a problem. But then again with the density altitude being high as it was it took you close to 10,000 feet. I flew a 172 into Flagstaff in July and upon leaving I was scraping treetops with 200 ft per minute trying to get in the air.
Thanks for the great video. I never get tired of watching your adventures.

I did have more power than i was using. I enjoy using the free energy to gain altitude. Had I been serious about climbing i could have given just a tad more power from Payson and by the time i reached the mountains i could have cleared tem without playing with the ridge lift.. Thanks for watching and thanks for the comment. I know what your saying about Flagstaff. They have their density altitude sign right by the runway entrance. I took off there in a debonair and even though we had tons of power the climb rate was really poor. So yeah density altitude is something to really watch. People every year don't take it into an account and get killed.

What temps do you fly in Ryan? We flew in 27 degree weather this morning at 8000 feet. It was fun but I was glad to fly lower to get into 50 degree weather. @@FLYNRYAN1978
