HI Nicole, they are both from LPaventures.com Awesome company that makes high quality products. One thing to consider if you add them you will loose about 1.5 inches of ground clearance so I would plan a lift if you go that route. I ended up putting on ralliTEK springs which helped a little bit, but you will definitely notice the lost of clearance if you go off road at all. I have a few videos about them in my Crosstrek playlist.

I ordered a SS3 amber fog light kit for my 2018 Forester XT, and came across the same issue you showed at 10:00 All of the other installation videos I've watched didn't even mention that and my kit didn't come with any instructions. At first I thought they sent me the wrong kit lol.

Those fog lights are clearly brighter than OEM; however, I did not see / hear you discuss adjusting the beam height / cutoff for the fog lights. From the video, the new fog lights appear to shine too far down the road, almost like driving lights, whereas fog lights are supposed to cut under the fog / snow. Is it possible to adjust the fog light height once they are installed? How easy / difficult is it to adjust the light?
Hey J A, you have to adjust them before installing them. I angled mine slightly down from horizontal and have not gone back to adjust. It is doable, but isn't an easy adjustment from what I recall. You would have to remove the fog and adjust the 4mm bolt on the side. Time stamp is about 10:12 seconds where you get a shot of it.
I replaced my fogs with Nokya Hyper Yellow halogen fog light bulbs and I really liked them.....until I saw yours. I'm going to get a set of those! Thanks for the install video! Cheers!

Hi Rick, I am a Canadian follower, i have one if the first 2018 Subaru Crosstrek's here in Ottawa, and all of my lighting has been supplied and was installed by William's team at Prolightz. All this to say that William suggested what to install and I was very impressed by his expertise. I have also installed rear fogs that I ordered for the Crosstrek and the guys at Prolightz customized and installed for me, and they have come in handy during our winter months... I am fortunate that Prolightz is just a 20min drive from place but I can say that they are great at what they do...

Hi Rick, This is the second time that I write to you via this media. I also own a Crosstrek, I bought mine a few months after you did and now days my battery died. My question for you is: how is your battery doing? is it still the same OEM? Mine it lasted barely 2 years. BTW, I am also pulling an small trailer with my Crosstrek - for this, your videos were not only a guide but a way to know that what I was seeking to do wasn't a complete nonsense - and additionally, I managed to make the stop signal to work at the trailer LED light. I love the look! But they are really bright as well, more so than I expected. Near the end of the video you can really tell the difference when they are on and I turn the fogs off for a bit. They will be awesome in actual fog as well.
Hi Martin, the bar and skid plate are from LPaventure. To use their skid plate you have to buy the front bar as well. The skid plate mounts to the bar and not in the stock plastic skid location. For those with a 2021 Limited, there is a plastic pin behind the fog light cladding. You need to remove this pin from within the fog light well (access from below) as Rick showed. This is the only way to get the fog light cladding off. Otherwise you’ll keep pulling and might break the fog light cover. Lastly the ss3 fits very very snug into a 2021 limited. You should set the ss3 mount depth as short as possible in order for the fog light covers to fit back on. Set the downward angle to around 2-3 degrees. Anything more might prevent the fog light cover from fitting. Use the iPhone level app to measure angle.

Hello Rick. Good video on your new fog flashlight. I had replaced the fog flashlight with turbo leds white light, which fit to the color of the head light and very strong. In your replacement, there was a lot of dissolution. I had just remove the black cover and that's it. So, engoy your new fog flashlight. Cheers. 😉

I could have most likely just taken the lower cover off as well, but ended up pulling the bumper because I had a lot of trouble with the driver's side fog light push pin. Mine was frozen and would just spin when trying to unscrew it. The passenger side wasn't a whole lot better.

Those definitely don’t look like the SAE versions right? Looks like they totally wash out your low beams. I did the Baja SAE(in the fog) to the Diode Dynamic SL1s(low beam) and I barely notice the Bajas. I hear the yellow really helps in the desert dustiness? Excited to hear more about them! I’m totally a lighting nerd.

Great setup! Just installed these on my '17 forester. Bright and great pattern. Only wish there was some kind of height adjustment control like the stock subaru lamps. Would make fine tuning so much simpler.

How does the amber do in rain and fog? I’m trying to decide on white or amber mainly for rainy conditions. I can’t see good in the rain using my stick lights on my Tacoma.
To be honest I have not driven the car with them in heavy rain as of yet, but my guess is they are good given how bright they are. We are in monsoon season so if I get the chance here soon I will let you know how it goes. Best of luck with your decision.
Just curious because I plan on buying some but I’m trying to decide on white or amber. My biggest reason I’m buying them is because I can’t see the lines on the road well in the rain.
Yellow is less affected by water droplets. But white or yellow will help you see the road lines during inclement weather. White will give the advantage in the dry, but the whole premise behind fog lights is to put light low and wide. These are bright and either color will do wonders.
I'm considering a set of these SS3 yellow fogs for my crystal white 2020 WRX, but the price is giving me serious pause, especially since there are some really good plug and play LED bulbs available for a fraction of the cost. Anyone have these installed in a late model WRX? Are they worth the $200 price?
I can understand your hesitation with the price, but keep your eye out for Diode dynamics sales. They seem to come around pretty regularly and I think the quality is hard to beat. I have to say I am seriously impressed with the output with them and would not mind paying $200. I put the Diode Dynamics LED bulbs in my wife's 17 WRX Headlights and it was a definite improvement over stock, but not as big of a change as the actual fogs were on the Crosstrek.
Rick those are super cool and powerful 👌. Now those are fog lights not the wimpy factory ones that most or all manufacturers tend to use. I agree yellow is better and more effective then white which should be for driving lights! Ever notice how some people use fog lights every night and that is why you'll see someone with a burned out bulb! Great job Mate!
I have my ss3 max fogs faced all the way down. After driving it for awhile now, it looks like it was aimed too low. I feel like I can adjust them slightly below parallel like yours. Did you have to readjust your fogs? Based on your video, the light looks 👍

Personally I think all you would need is the SS3's. They are massively bright and should do the trick for you.

Yellow cut through fog, rain, and snow much better then white. Have yellow LED's and they work great.

To be honest I have not driven the car with them in heavy rain as of yet, but my guess is they are good given how bright they are. We are in monsoon season so if I get the chance here soon I will let you know how it goes. Best of luck with your decision.
Just curious because I plan on buying some but I’m trying to decide on white or amber. My biggest reason I’m buying them is because I can’t see the lines on the road well in the rain.
Yellow is less affected by water droplets. But white or yellow will help you see the road lines during inclement weather. White will give the advantage in the dry, but the whole premise behind fog lights is to put light low and wide. These are bright and either color will do wonders.
I'm considering a set of these SS3 yellow fogs for my crystal white 2020 WRX, but the price is giving me serious pause, especially since there are some really good plug and play LED bulbs available for a fraction of the cost. Anyone have these installed in a late model WRX? Are they worth the $200 price?
I can understand your hesitation with the price, but keep your eye out for Diode dynamics sales. They seem to come around pretty regularly and I think the quality is hard to beat. I have to say I am seriously impressed with the output with them and would not mind paying $200. I put the Diode Dynamics LED bulbs in my wife's 17 WRX Headlights and it was a definite improvement over stock, but not as big of a change as the actual fogs were on the Crosstrek.

I have yellow led fog lights in my Crosstrek also, and they are great. H11 fit, very bright.

Rick those are super cool and powerful 👌. Now those are fog lights not the wimpy factory ones that most or all manufacturers tend to use. I agree yellow is better and more effective then white which should be for driving lights! Ever notice how some people use fog lights every night and that is why you'll see someone with a burned out bulb! Great job Mate!

I have my ss3 max fogs faced all the way down. After driving it for awhile now, it looks like it was aimed too low. I feel like I can adjust them slightly below parallel like yours. Did you have to readjust your fogs? Based on your video, the light looks 👍
