Thanks for the wonderful review. Lucy is as you say something special. I think she has a pathway to stardom but the people helping her are looking at slower but persistent growth. Lucy is signed to Cavendish Records. She was signed up after she finished The Voice Kids at 13 years of age. She has only left college a few months ago. Here in England you are required to be in school till you're 16, then you are required to attend college as Lucy did, or start a training programme or an apprenticeship.
A Star is Born is a musical then it’s been 2 movies, the last approximately 2019 w Lady Gaga singing it . Barbara Streisand really made it her song in the late 70’s n I’ve heard the song but not given it much thought UNTIL LUCY CAME ALONG N NAILED IT. Streisand is great but LUCY has surpassed Barbara in my opinion. I’ve followed Lucy for about 6-9 months n this young lady has taken on all the big female stars. Lucy has done covers of Streisand, Whitney, K.D.Lang,Bette Midler, Lady Gaga as well as many others. Every song she just makes it hers . I believe we are listening to the world’s best female singer NOW. She’s only 19 n I think being carefully tutored by her family n others. She has such a beautiful voice n can apply her magical tones to so many different songs. Her ability to control the high n low pitches without breaking her power is incredible. Each time I listen to Lucy she takes me on this amazing musical journey where I’m hypnotised by her. I’ve sung her praises so often and I do run out of superlatives because each song she sings is so unique. I’ve heard plenty of the great female singers, I’m a few weeks of 70 n love a great variety of music. I can’t remember ever being this excited by a female singer, in fact the last time I was hooked on anyone before was a small time group from London …. Called THE BEATLES! Haha 😂. She has covered other songs so brilliantly with her sister Martha in 2 duets , maybe more in The Prayer n HALLELUJAH. Another song the two sisters sung SMILE with their mother n OMG it was so smooth. Another great song ( from Streisand also ) is “The Way We Were “. Oh this young lady has everything going for her. She looks beautiful, her voice is like a Silky Gold n she is so young but sings like a mature female. She makes the hairs on my arms stand up n some of her songs bring a tear to my eyes. When I heared first time her "Halleluja" - it was been a video from her first time, when she was been a 17 yo girl - there I was saying, that she can really become a great star. Some years later I saw some videos, where she was singing whit her sister martha together. Maybe one year ago, I saw the first videos, where she is singing alone after a long time. She was "scooped up" already at 13yo at some voice kids thing and immediately given a record contract. Then came covid during which she recorded a handful songs at home. In the mean time she finished her studies until this spring/summer. In March she has her first public concert and next autumn she will sing the leading roll in the musical Rosie. Her first studio recording at 13y was "One Day" and can be found on UA-cam in Lucy Thomas rare recordings. She already sings like a pro here.

Hello Maria that was such an elegant and beautiful review and reaction to Lucy's cover singing Evergreen, I remember "a star is born" film many years ago I think Bette Midler was the star of the film, but I do not remember this song in it. This cover is so good Lucy is so good what more can you say, I think she should perform in the USA she would be a super star over there, most of her reactions are from reactors from the States and Canada they know how good she is that's why most reactors who follower her can't wait for her next cover because they know she is very special. She sang the prayer with her sister Martha when she was younger I think her sister was only 11 or 12 years of age and Lucy was I think 16 the cover of the prayer is also remarakable I am sure you will love it. There have actually been 4 versions of A Star is Born going all the way back to the 1930s. The music has been different in each one. Judy Garland starred in 1954, Barbra Streisand in 1976, and Lady Gaga in 2018.

The way Lucy sings Evergreen is just beautiful. Doesn't every song she sings resonate deep within you? You should, you really should listen to her rendition of her singing another Barbra Streisand song, "The Way We Were". I was a kid when that movie came out and the Barbra Streisand song was so popular and I was also aware of who Kris Kristofferson was, but you know I was just like a kid starting to really get into Hard Rock in the mid-70s, and so this just wasn't for me. If it came on the radio I changed the channel. Somehow in Lucy does it, it just changes everything, does amazing intervals back and forth that are descending while she's hopping back and forth so fluidly? It's just slays me.
Why Am I Reacting, I would seriously challenge you to find me a solo performer who, not only have better vocals than Lucy, but also that mega-powerful emotional and empathic 'pull', where you go off on a journey into serene bliss where Lucy steps right into your heart & soul and you feel what she feels........sorry, no other artist is remotely close and just think of how much energy, vibe, and overall liveliness will be in that venue when her musical, "Rosie", debuts late next year.....if she has this effect on all of us thru a video.......just imagine how much exponentially more the enormous passion, empathy, and emotion Lucy will be emitting when seeing her LIVE; HOLY SMOKES!!!
Lucy, your voice is great and naturally VERY beautiful. I just listened to Barbra sing this song, and she is excellent, but you are better. Lucy manages to make me listen to songs that I never liked. When she sings, even the worst song becomes beautiful.
