The worst part about GTA V is that they abandoned the single player mode the second that the online borefest hit big. At the very least, they could have added the 500 cars they've added into online, into the single player too, but nope. Playing GTA V on PS5 today is the same exact experience it was on the PS3 day 1. Just with a better resolution.
Not worse at all. As a gamer and equities investor, I welcome whatever makes money for Take2 and if it is at the expense of story DLC, so be it. Can’t complain about my financial returns from my investments in Take2 over the last 12 or so years. Can’t blame them for the success of GTA ONLINE. Business is business. Dog eat dog.
Nintendo will just make new Gamecube controllers without NSO Gamecube because I just still feel like they would never put Gamecube games as part of a streaming service, when they are already making multiple Gamecube ports, remasters, and remakes for higher prices
I'd be down for a Gamecube Pro Controller, but would it also have the two step triggers? I hope so. Heck bring back the Wii U Pro Controller with the modern hardware and I'd buy it as well.
Eh, there are still a bunch of GCN games from Nintendo’s own catalog that they will probably never bother remaking. Iterative titles like Mario Kart Double Dash or Smash Bros Melee, more obscure stuff like Geist or Chibi-Robo, or just less popular games like Star Fox Adventures that wouldn’t sell as a regular release. Adding those games to NSO would just increase the value significantly at no cost to Nintendo, and they can still do full remakes/remasters for the heavy hitters.
Speaking of GameCube, I really wish Nintendo had released Luigi Mansion 1 HD alongside Luigi's Mansion 2 HD. Well, what can you do? At least we have 2 and 3 on there. I'm playing Luigi's Mansion 2 HD right now and I'm having so much fun.
I hope they'll wait for Switch 2 to remake Luigi's Mansion with RT, just imagine how good it will look on it. And well obviously same for Luigi's Mansion 4
@@TakisEnjoyer Definitely won't happen. The original Luigi's Mansion was already remastered on the New 3DS and Nintendo typically don't double-dip when it comes to remastering. There's maybe a handful of games that come to mind that ever got that treatment. Mario Bros., Super Mario Bros., Super Mario Bros. 2, Super Mario World and Xenoblade Chronicles. Anything else have just been simple ports. I'd expect to see it on GameCube NSO eventually. Edit: Link's Awakening as well
Even though Luigi’s Mansion had a remake/remaster for 3ds, they would have to remaster it again, cuz the graphics from 3ds to Switch are very different, as well as the emulation. Even though they were working on LM2, it would take a whole other team to work on the first LM. And, as someone else mentioned, it was just remade in 2018, that’s too recent for Nintendo to work on it again.

Further console additions to NSO have a few concerns: * processing power, file size * desire to first harvest the fertile ground for remasters before offering emulated versions for a subscription cost * the need to have some new console additions left in the table so they can continue making new big splashes in the lifecycle of the successor (and also lock them behind the new hardware as an upgrade incentive). So yeah, I expected that Nintendo would stop at N64/GBA for Switch, harvest all the remaster/remake cash it can from GC/DS, and then use GC/Wii/DS/3DS as the value addition for the new successor. There is a rumor the successor has a wider aspect ratio. If so, maybe they can do some kind of split screen layout for DS/3DS, which wouldnt be great on the current Switch screen.
I recently bought Ys 1+2 on GOG but I got 8 and X on my wishlist. Feel like these games will take a good chunk of time to finish so its going to be a while till I play X.

The main thing I’d be interested in with XIV on phones is the idea of being able to do the more casual stuff- gathering, crafting, etc- anywhere. And you can do cross-save as is, from PS to XB to PC to Mac- but each of those uses separate licenses, unfortunately. To me it feels more realistic that a new FF MMO would be something immediately mobile-friendly, and it feels reasonable to imagine something branching off the already successful FF14 platform.
XIV jobs have around 32 buttons to press for skills at max level I have no idea how they could translate it to a phone while having parity with PC You could plug a controller but that's a weird requirement

Square Enix doesn’t do cross-buy for FFXIV. If you want to play on console, then go out and play on your laptop, you have to buy different versions of the game. Having a mobile port of the game seems like they’ll want to make it cross-buy, because the mobile market doesn’t like upfront payments for games as much.

I have difficulty seeing Nintendo adding GameCube to NSO honestly. It really seems like they would rather upscale/remaster them and trickle them out as individual retail releases like they've done with Metroid Prime, Paper Mario TTYD, and Pikmin 1+2.
My money is on either PC Engine or Nintendo DS, why are people expecting Gamecube is beyond me when Nintendo proved time and time they can resell each game for full price.

Whoo hoo! Ys got mentioned! One of my all time favorite series! Ys XIII was the best one and Ys IX was awesome on PS4. Highly recommend those on either current PS or PC. And Ys X is very likely a day one purchase for me!
I absolutely love my WaveBird. I could be on a different floor and still control my game. I would be playing Tales of Symphonia and you had to press the button to continue the characters talking so when I could press a button and make the characters continue to have their conversations i knew it was working. I also went into a theatre at the College residence where they had a Large TV and a Decent size room my friend hooked his GameCube up to the large TV and i was able to stand at the back of the room with my back against the wall and still play Mario kart double dash without any issues. the only thing I hate is that my GameCube controller analog sticks are getting tacky or sticky I hate how many rubber things degrade over time and become super sticky not sure if I could get the stickiness off without ruining my analog stick tops the part you actually put your thumb on to use the analog sticks. I dont know why the GameCube never had any Fighting games. The GameCube Analog sticks have have the exact Octogone like shape that would make doing complex moves like the Shoryuken move really easy since it has not only up, down, left, right, it also has stops in between the. like Forward, Down and then Down-Forward would be easy to do.
The Wavebird controller is God-tier. I've recently been using my 23 year-old Wavebird to replay through Prime 2 Echoes and it's still in great shape. Looks and plays just like it did when I bought it. Nintendo engineers their controllers with the build quality of a tank.
I really wish I could buy NSO retro games al la carte because some of those games (like Rare's stuff or even some of Capcom's stuff) won't necessarily be there forever so having the option to buy something like Perfect Dark or Goldeneye or Banjo Kazooie to permanently have on my switch would be a nice option in case those games get delisted in the future
Even though I already have multiple options for wireless gaming on the OG Gamecube, including a Club Nintendo Wavebird, I would definitely order a fresh one directly from Nintendo. However, that thing isn't going to be in stock for months, with only scalpers on eBay being able to sell them at fantasy prices. I just know it.

Honestly I think people are overreacting over the PS4 emulator progress. To get to a working state, they need to replicate the functionality of the system calls in the OS. They just happened to implement a lot of the calls that gets that game to that particular state. That's nothing to go crazy about in the grand scheme of things, they still have a long way to go.
I don't think Gamecube alone is enough for a price hike, but if they did Gamecube + something else it might work out. The previous expansion came with Sega Genesis and access to different DLCs in current titles. The most exciting option would be for them to bring DS games to the service, but that is maybe more unlikely.

Final fantasy 14 runs it's expansions in increments of 10 levels, the base game going to level 50. You can now play the 2nd expansion for free, up to level 70. The game is subscription based, and will not remove the subscription when they're at their highest subscriber numbers ever. The game needs to be purchased, as well as each dlc/expansion, per device. Own it on PC? Want to play on Playstation as well? You have to buy the game again. The servers are identical on every platform, so cross save isn't only available, but it's technically not even a thing. You don't cross save, you just save to a service account that is shared between every platform. There is no need to cross save.
Didn't they do that with red dead 2 ??? Everybody expected there to be some zombie DLC like the first game. It would have been easy money. But rock star decided to focus solely on the online portion of the game. And then when the numbers weren't high enough, they just abandoned that as well.
I’m in the minority, but I think the first Mario & Rabbids is a thousand times better than the sequel. The second one honestly didn’t grab me the same - it was good, not great. And it’s not just because the first one was a new experience - I’ve gone back and played it and had the exact same experience. It almost immediately sucks me in. Phenomenal game
RuneScape and Oldschool RuneScape have been on mobile for several years and they keep the same subscription model that they have on PC. I think it definitely works because it works more to pull people into the desktop version of the game but allows them to play it on the go when they want
My guess is that the new Switch will have better support for vertical mode and will have DS for Switch Online at launch. GC games cam be released for full price, we're not getting them for free.
I have a Wavebird, and I totally love it don't get me wrong, but the Nyxi Warrior has been the best GameCube controller I've used so far, I think. The whole "no rumble" thing is really a deal breaker in games when using the Wavebird.
as an ffxiv player, not sure how xiv mobile would work. they just updated the graphics with 7.0, i upgraded my pc to run it better. not sure what a good touch screen control scheme would be, there are a lot of hud elements to manage, and each job has roughly 30 different moves to use on different buttons, not to mention movement. i can only imagine the groans when you realize your party member is playing on mobile, doesn't have half they buttons mapped, and can't see the mechanics around their thumbs. ping would be an issue as well. also, you would probably have to buy the mobile version separately. i think it's more likely that a spinoff releases
17:07 I had a Sackboy figure that came with a version of LittleBigPlanet. I got the game on sale so as an adult I wasn't really interested in the figure. When I had kids they played the game with me and I gave them the figure to play with which gave them joy. After all that's what toys are for right?! 😏 The figure survived and my son now has it on the shelf next to his copy of Sackboy: A Big Adventure.
I want to see gamecube games too but I want to buy them individually. Xbox and PS lets you purchase some older games, and nintendo used to do that but not anymore, time to bring back Virtual Console cause I dont want a gamecube app that eats up my storage space with games I wont even play.
I love the Ys series but I'm not picking them up on the switch anymore. They don't run horrible but it's a lot more fun playing these action adventure RPGs with smooth frame rates.

A New WaveBird GC Controller would be awesome but Nintendo would probably do a Standard GC Controller instead. FF14 on Mobiles is gonna make a ton of Money for SE and Tencent. Good Start for the PS4 Emulator and Bloodborne is defo the way too go. I am surprised they didn't have a small Team working on the DLC for GTAV. The WaveBird didn't have Rumble at a time that was getting very good. I would buy a WaveBird if Nintendo re-released it AND added Rumble in to it, but otherwise a wireless OEM/Factory standard GameCube Controller--just like the N64, SNES and NES controllers--would be better. Plus I have like 3 Power A wireless pro controllers that look like gamecube controllers anyway.

It's mentioned in the video, the difference is these controllers have part numbers similar to previous NSO controllers.
I'm still pissed about the gtav dlc being cancelled after i paid $100 for an ultimate edition that said it would include TWO dlc's when released and all I got was an online mode that I never enjoyed

I have difficulty seeing Nintendo adding GameCube to NSO honestly.
It really seems like they would rather upscale/remaster them and trickle them out as individual retail releases like they've done with Metroid Prime, Paper Mario TTYD, and Pikmin 1+2.
They should release a new wavebird with rumble that works on switch, and comes with a dongle that allows it to work on gamecube and wii.

My money is on either PC Engine or Nintendo DS, why are people expecting Gamecube is beyond me when Nintendo proved time and time they can resell each game for full price.

Whoo hoo! Ys got mentioned! One of my all time favorite series! Ys XIII was the best one and Ys IX was awesome on PS4. Highly recommend those on either current PS or PC. And Ys X is very likely a day one purchase for me!

I absolutely love my WaveBird. I could be on a different floor and still control my game. I would be playing Tales of Symphonia and you had to press the button to continue the characters talking so when I could press a button and make the characters continue to have their conversations i knew it was working. I also went into a theatre at the College residence where they had a Large TV and a Decent size room my friend hooked his GameCube up to the large TV and i was able to stand at the back of the room with my back against the wall and still play Mario kart double dash without any issues. the only thing I hate is that my GameCube controller analog sticks are getting tacky or sticky I hate how many rubber things degrade over time and become super sticky not sure if I could get the stickiness off without ruining my analog stick tops the part you actually put your thumb on to use the analog sticks. I dont know why the GameCube never had any Fighting games. The GameCube Analog sticks have have the exact Octogone like shape that would make doing complex moves like the Shoryuken move really easy since it has not only up, down, left, right, it also has stops in between the. like Forward, Down and then Down-Forward would be easy to do.
The Wavebird controller is God-tier. I've recently been using my 23 year-old Wavebird to replay through Prime 2 Echoes and it's still in great shape. Looks and plays just like it did when I bought it. Nintendo engineers their controllers with the build quality of a tank.
I really wish I could buy NSO retro games al la carte because some of those games (like Rare's stuff or even some of Capcom's stuff) won't necessarily be there forever so having the option to buy something like Perfect Dark or Goldeneye or Banjo Kazooie to permanently have on my switch would be a nice option in case those games get delisted in the future
Even though I already have multiple options for wireless gaming on the OG Gamecube, including a Club Nintendo Wavebird, I would definitely order a fresh one directly from Nintendo. However, that thing isn't going to be in stock for months, with only scalpers on eBay being able to sell them at fantasy prices. I just know it.

Honestly I think people are overreacting over the PS4 emulator progress. To get to a working state, they need to replicate the functionality of the system calls in the OS. They just happened to implement a lot of the calls that gets that game to that particular state. That's nothing to go crazy about in the grand scheme of things, they still have a long way to go.

I don't think Gamecube alone is enough for a price hike, but if they did Gamecube + something else it might work out. The previous expansion came with Sega Genesis and access to different DLCs in current titles. The most exciting option would be for them to bring DS games to the service, but that is maybe more unlikely.

Final fantasy 14 runs it's expansions in increments of 10 levels, the base game going to level 50. You can now play the 2nd expansion for free, up to level 70. The game is subscription based, and will not remove the subscription when they're at their highest subscriber numbers ever. The game needs to be purchased, as well as each dlc/expansion, per device. Own it on PC? Want to play on Playstation as well? You have to buy the game again. The servers are identical on every platform, so cross save isn't only available, but it's technically not even a thing. You don't cross save, you just save to a service account that is shared between every platform. There is no need to cross save.

Everybody expected there to be some zombie DLC like the first game. It would have been easy money. But rock star decided to focus solely on the online portion of the game. And then when the numbers weren't high enough, they just abandoned that as well.
I’m in the minority, but I think the first Mario & Rabbids is a thousand times better than the sequel. The second one honestly didn’t grab me the same - it was good, not great.
And it’s not just because the first one was a new experience - I’ve gone back and played it and had the exact same experience. It almost immediately sucks me in. Phenomenal game

RuneScape and Oldschool RuneScape have been on mobile for several years and they keep the same subscription model that they have on PC. I think it definitely works because it works more to pull people into the desktop version of the game but allows them to play it on the go when they want

The Power A brand has GameCube styled Nintendo switch controllers for the last while and I own a gold one from them and have been enjoying it.
If GameCube came online with twilight princess and wind worker, i would subscribe to it because i love those two games..
My guess is that the new Switch will have better support for vertical mode and will have DS for Switch Online at launch. GC games cam be released for full price, we're not getting them for free.
I have a Wavebird, and I totally love it don't get me wrong, but the Nyxi Warrior has been the best GameCube controller I've used so far, I think. The whole "no rumble" thing is really a deal breaker in games when using the Wavebird.
The N64 is now finally in stock regularly. Trying to get a new wave bird would be just as hard.
I never cared for the WaveBird because of its lack of rumble... even third-party wireless ones had rumble!

Ys 10 is a strange one, the music certainly isn't as good as ys 8. The gameplay is kinda cool. I have it on my switch already.
as an ffxiv player, not sure how xiv mobile would work. they just updated the graphics with 7.0, i upgraded my pc to run it better. not sure what a good touch screen control scheme would be, there are a lot of hud elements to manage, and each job has roughly 30 different moves to use on different buttons, not to mention movement. i can only imagine the groans when you realize your party member is playing on mobile, doesn't have half they buttons mapped, and can't see the mechanics around their thumbs. ping would be an issue as well. also, you would probably have to buy the mobile version separately. i think it's more likely that a spinoff releases

17:07 I had a Sackboy figure that came with a version of LittleBigPlanet. I got the game on sale so as an adult I wasn't really interested in the figure. When I had kids they played the game with me and I gave them the figure to play with which gave them joy. After all that's what toys are for right?! 😏
The figure survived and my son now has it on the shelf next to his copy of Sackboy: A Big Adventure.
FFXIV has naturally built in Cross-Save/Cross-Progression. You could always go from PlayStation Consoles to PC and back again.
I want to see gamecube games too but I want to buy them individually. Xbox and PS lets you purchase some older games, and nintendo used to do that but not anymore, time to bring back Virtual Console cause I dont want a gamecube app that eats up my storage space with games I wont even play.
I love the Ys series but I'm not picking them up on the switch anymore. They don't run horrible but it's a lot more fun playing these action adventure RPGs with smooth frame rates.
100% would buy a wavebird...or 4. Loved that controller. And please bring GC to NSO! Launch it with switch successor.

Classic GC Games heading too the Switch Online Service would be amazing and the Price undoubtedly would have too go up. A New WaveBird GC Controller would be awesome but Nintendo would probably do a Standard GC Controller instead.

The WaveBird didn't have Rumble at a time that was getting very good.
I would buy a WaveBird if Nintendo re-released it AND added Rumble in to it, but otherwise a wireless OEM/Factory standard GameCube Controller--just like the N64, SNES and NES controllers--would be better.
Plus I have like 3 Power A wireless pro controllers that look like gamecube controllers anyway.
Wavebird getting remade has 0% chance. It’ll just be the regular Gamecube controller, and it’s only going to be purple.
