They haven't played live in over two years. I thought they were brilliant. Remember, this is The Light at the End of the Tunnel Tour. It's a warm up to reconnect after a terrible two years. The major new album tour is yet to happen.
It was a stripped down show. H was in as good a voice as I've ever heard. Rother's guitar was crisp and clear and beautiful. The band is super tight. The gig was tremendous and Heart of Lothian was a stonking tribute to where they were playing.
I was 13 when Script came out. 38 years later, I watched as my 22 year old son beside me flipped over what he was seeing.
I've no time for the petty critics complaining about venue choice or seats etc. Just be fucking thankful that this band still exists. Choose a Marillion way of life.

I was there that night. My first Marillion gig with Hogarth. Loved the Fish era and liked Seasons End but stopped listening to them after Holidays in Eden. Don't know why really maybe my music tastes changed in the 90s. I watched and listened to the Albert Hall gig couple of years back and has got me back into them in a big way.
Superb night and what a brilliant band.

Yes Chris he was,his voice was the strongest I've heard it.The crowd were all in fine voice too, they were really loud 😀gave me a lump in my throat! Think we were all extra high getting freedom back and out at the first gig in a long time! I was lucky enough to chat with h after the gig 😁and the week after in Manchester...I told him how strong his voice was in Edinburgh...in Manchester it wasn't quite as strong and h agreed he said it was only 97% in Manchester...still sounded great....Love h ❤️‍🔥Love Marillion 💖

hs voice was very strong...as soon as he started singing it was really apparent just how much stronger....I met h & the guys after this gig and chatted with them...Nice ordinary people just happen to work in a band 😃.
Took my daughter for her 24th Birthday celebration to see them at Bridgewater Hall the week after Edinburgh gig and we chatted with h after the gig and I commented to him how strong his voice was and he said at the Manchester gig it was only 97% ....sounded great to me h 😁💕

@@RaymondBrouwers I was there not jabbed not tested EVER....we were sat down because there was no open space to stand in...standing up and dancing means blocking other peoples view & security make you sit down also if you get up and rock out!
Just went to Leicester weekend and stood up each night because the downstairs is unseated...was able to dance without spoiling others view of the band.
A lot of people in the crowd are aging rockers now...and I'm no spring chicken at 60....we've probably all done loads of rocking out in the years we've been going to gigs....I know I have since my first gig watching Led Zep(twice in a week) in 1979
      and at so many gigs I've lost count since then... Marillion (10+) Pink Floyd, Yes,King Crimson(2×) Eric Clapton,Eagles (2x)Santana (3×),Bob Dylan,Phil Collins,Fleetwood Mac,Dire Straits,Stereophonics,Paulo Nutini,Damien Marley,Bunny Wailer,Gyptian,Third World....List goes on n on....so forgive us oldies if we're getting a bit tired of rocking out after 5 or so decades!
