- Sure homemade Beef Stroganoff is delicious, but so are handcrafted Soup Dumplings! You see where I’m going with this right? I give you the FIRST EVER Beef Stroganoff Soup Dumpling, made by yours truly (papa). Or well.. I assume it’s the first.
Why do this you ask? I was challenged by the US Navy - as part of their series #SailorVS - to put a unique spin on one of their staple dishes they serve on the regular. Be sure to watch where I compete in a cook-off against TWO Culinary Specialists from the Navy.

Ingredients you'll need:
Basic Beef Stroganoff -
1 lb (450 g) Steak, cubbed
Oil
2.5 Tbsp (35 g) Unsalted Butter
2 tsp (5 g) Coarse Ground Black Pepper
1 Sweet Onion, diced
5 Cloves Garlic, thinly sliced
1 Tbsp (14 ml) Cognac (or Whiskey)
2.5 Tbsp (30 ml) Worcestershire Sauce
9 oz (250 g) Cremini Mushrooms, quartered
1.5 cups (350 ml) Beef Broth
1/4 cup (16 ml) Heavy Whipping Cream
1/2 cup (120 ml) Sour Cream
2 Tbsp (28 g) Dijon Mustard
Salt
Pepper
1/3 cup (8 g) Fresh Parsley, chopped
Egg Noodles (or Noodle of choice)
Soup Dumpling Filling -
1 oz Pack Dried Mushrooms
1 cup (240 ml) Boiling Water
2 Short Ribs
Kosher Salt
Oil
2.5 Tbsp (35 g) Unsalted Butter
2 tsp (5 g) Coarse Ground Black Pepper
1 Sweet Onion, diced
5 Cloves Garlic, finely chopped
2 cups (480 ml) Beef Broth
2 Tbsp (28 g) Whole Grain Dijon Mustard
1/4 cup (60 ml) Heavy Whipping Cream
1 Tbsp (14 g) Unflavored Gelatin
1/2 cup (120 ml) Sour Cream
1/3 cup (8 g) Fresh Parsley, chopped
Soup Dumpling Dough -
2 3/4 cup (400 g) All-Purpose Flour

Same basic idea as any money spent on recruitment. Marketing of all stripes has learned that being somewhat relatable helps, so in this case "talk about Navy food". Combine that with the fact that people at recruitment age don't watch traditional TV anymore and the fact that people skips ads (or adblock) and it makes a great deal of sense.

Like what we supposed to do?? Not eat, be bored and die because were homeless since working for a corporation is helping run it and contributing to wage slavery. The only way to change this is work our hardest to petition and vote, but again most of these people are too young for that too. I just became old enough to vote but tbh I don’t know if it’ll make a difference in a long run because voting doesn’t completely change the fact that the government loves corporations and is for them more so than people nowadays. Overall, idk about you but even though I may donate, reuse, recycle, vote- it doesn’t seem to make much of a difference and most of us feel pretty damn hopeless about it all.
