The easiest way to bleed the Power Steering, I have found is to have the front wheels off the ground, run the engine, and turn the steering wheel lock to lock. The Land Rover method using four litres of oil is a bit overkill, and expensive. Helpful video, lots of dodges learnt over the years to do these jobs. And yes, I have three Freelander 2's in the family to maintain.

      Hi Jag Racer 👋.
I couldn't agree more about that being the best way to bleed the power steering fluid. 👌👍 I get why Land Rover explain how to do it they way they do, but it does seem a crazy expensive way to go about it that's for sure 🙈.
I applaud your patients maintaining 3 Freelander 2's 👏. We have enough fun keeping on-top of our single Freelander 2 😁.

Great vid, thanks. In his turbo replacement video, Gary Redman said that he removed the cable from the crank position sensor to stop it firing when he turned it over. Maybe that would work?

      Hi Nick 👋.
I've just been out to check our old pump, and it's a FoMoCo (which is the brand that LR uses as OEM), and the part number is: 6G91-3A696-EF
There is another number on the pulley, but I believe that one above is for the pump. I hope that helps. 😁
