The easiest way to disable the 4 wheel drive system on the Freelander 2 is to remove the Haldex fuse. Although this will display error messages every time you turn on the ignition on. The other option is to remove the prop shaft from the underside of the car for a more permanent solution. My question out of pure interest is why would you want a 2 wheel drive if you plan to tow? 😀 The Freelander 2, for the most part, runs in front wheel drive and only runs in 4 wheel drive if it senses any wheel slip. So if anything, it's good to have the 4 wheel drive system for if you were to ever need it. 😁 Sorry for the late reply. It has been super busy for us recently 😁. Hopefully this reply helps. It's funny, The Freelander 2 has a very similar setup and in that world it's either called the transfer box or power transfer unit (PTU for short). It's seems it's more of a toss up between transfer box, angle drive and bevel box in the Skoda world 😁. - Scott

Hi Michael 👋. I'm afraid to say that the cars show in this short are not ours. They were 2 of many that were at Muddy Weekender 😃. The Freelander 2 in this video has a Flatdog UK roof rack on it. We have not needed a roof rack on our Freelander 2 so I don't really know much about roof racks and their pros and cons. Maybe someone else will see your comment and be able to answer your question 😃. If you have Facebook, join up to the Muddy Freelander Group and ask on there as the owner of the Freelander 2 in this short should be able to answer your question 😁. Nicely done Matthew 👍😃. Hopefully it does fix your issue 🤞. I'm not a mechanic, but if it doesn't, I think my next port of call if I was in your shoes would be to check any air pipes, turbo pipes or intercooler pipes for any small air leaks. If any extra air is getting in, it could be upsetting the fuel mixture and the engine having to adjust it accordingly, therefor giving a rough idle. Just a complete stab in the dark on that one though 😃. - Scott

@ScottandAlana4x4 cheers Scott, that would be my next point of call. The one at the front of the engine where the throttle body is looks OK. Is there any kits available, to replace all the hoses with silicone ones?

We have been quite lucky with our NOCO as from doing this video to the other day when I checked it, which was about 3 months it hadn't lost any charge at all, which is a positive. 😀 The leads could 100% do with a bit extra length to them, that's for sure! Hi Riccardo 👋. The Freelander 2's from 2007 to 2010 do not have hill hold. I THINK the post facelifted Freelander 2's from 2011 onwards do have hill hold, but I could be wrong. - Scott

We can't wait to go back up there at some point in the future but hopefully go a bit more equipped for its terrain 😁. We only dipped a toe into the water of the beauty of the Lake District, so hopefully, we can explore it more. We were very glad we had the Freelander and not the Yeti with how flooded the roads were getting! When we went past those stone walls with the water flooding out, it didn't half take us by surprise as we never have anything like that down here 😂. - Scott
