Lol, you could probably get away with one of those larger Chinese bikes you see at tractor supply, they have a gear reduction. Vintage stuff is getting crazy but check Craigslist often. 👍
Those bikes are cool! I just sold a Baja Racer last spring and I still have the Coleman bike. Do you know of OMB (Old mini bike) Warehouse? Lots of parts and go-fast stuff. Leave the grips on and go with the rack.
I just bought one yesterday. The engine decal says Montgomery Ward on it, and 5 HP, judging by the size of the engine it looks more like a 3 or 3-1/2 . It’s got cosmetic issues, non stock handle grips, throttle cable, rear brake cable isn’t stock either, 🤬🤬amateur spray can paint job not prepped good, John Deer green, yellow wheels , recovered seat mounted backwards 😂. It’s definitely got potential though. Question: is it normal to NOT be able to push the bike around when it’s not running? I have to drag it around. I see no way to disengage the driveline ( like putting it in neutral ). Maybe when I watch more of your videos that question will be answered. My rear brake is a setup like yours, and it works, it appears to release okay, but I really won’t know until I get the metal mesh out of the way to see clearly. I got it from the second owner, and he claims it’s a 1950’s Montgomery Ward. This is my first day researching this thing, and I’ll subscribe, anxious to see yours climb because our backyard is very steep too.
Haha, people mess up mini bikes all the time, the engine will have a code for make and year, I think they started making these in 58 and don’t recall Montgomery ward selling these but they did sell mini bikes . Yes they are hard to bush because of the belt but your belt might be real tight, try moving the engine back a hair and make sure it’s aligned, these will slow down going down him when you let off the throttle. Always start it on the stand or it will take off on you! 😂
@@unclejim2330 Thanks for the reply. I’ll loosen the belt first. I’ll use paint stripper or disassemble the whole bike and have it bead blasted. Do you think there should be a serial number on the frame somewhere? I really don’t know IF it’s a TOTE GOTE, or what name it was sold under. 👍
Beautiful bike, thanks for sharing brother, New friend here stay connected God bless you
Nice ride! When I was a kid, my dad owned a Schwinn bicycle shop and also sold Rupp mini bikes.

@@unclejim2330 Ha! Imagine that. I've ordered parts in the past and I still get weekly emails for deals. Good outfit!

Ha hA! Nice! I vote for 2 seats and a wheelie
Yeah me too! 😂😂😂👍🇺🇸🕺🏻
If you put the cargo rack on it you'll never have to take a kid for a ride & you'll have a place for thrift store boxes. 🙂
Haha! 👍
Don't let Scotsman near that thing on a Saturday night,,lol.
He can’t break it. 👍🤷♀️
@@unclejim2330 No but he would disappear on it and you'd find him on a back road in Kansas 2 days later,,lol
It needs pink grips and rainbow tassels.

Do the dual seats. Clamp on a phone and cup holder.
