  • In the middle of Manhattan, New York is a public park suspended 30’ off the ground. At nearly a mile and a half long with over an acre of curated plantings, the High Line park features half of all plant species native to the United States and is considered the crown jewel of New York City. We explore this thriving diversity of plants and people - and the challenges of gardening in on a suspended and ever-changing environment

Saw this 2 years ago, I was blown away on how it is beautifully created. Bravo! New York City! and to all creators and volunteers. Thank you, Joe.

Love how you find such interesting stories to share. I like to ride my bike on rails to trails. In SD and CO I have ridden over 100 miles of these old rail road trails on my bike.

If you're ever in Chicago, check out the '606 Trail' built on the old Bloomingdale rail line - very similar to New York's High Line. Just like this park, the 606 was met with a lot of worry as to whether or not the public would venture up & use it......they did & the neighborhoods around it are booming!

That is an amazing greenspace , if I lived there I'd have to live at one end and work at the other end and make 150K to afford rent lol! The designers should have used an old boxcar instead of the container unit for their composting facility. 😎

That would have been a very cool idea for the boxcar Anthony!

timestamp 16:29 she is super stocked about a industrial scale composter she gleefully refers as "the rockeT". I've never seen someone's eyes open up so wide in my life. god bless and i hope her and "the rocket" have settled down in danbury or something like that with kids.
