The textures are broken on every map too. The planets look messed up and rhe added a botom to the shafts on death star, that shit pissed me off. Nerfed death star

I would not mind that at all. Going up against my friend in either version of Galactic Conquest. Seeing how we both strategize our attacks to counter our moves and just having a blast.
It was 4 player split screen in Battlefront 2 only, and yeah it’s a shame it’s didn’t get brought back now both games are limited to 2 player split screen as it was for the first game.
@@IonicHyperspace I think it's weird how they added the Xbox dlc content but not the 4p split screen. It honestly makes me feel like playing the backwards compatible one on Xbox is still the definitive way to play the second game.
Only got the pc classic collection, reason I didn’t bother on Xbox is cause original has 4 player split screen and galactic conquest locally is the best game mode
@@KVIIDUBS Yeah, I got it on switch mainly so I can have it portable and not have to use my psp version. To this day I still play split-screen on the Xbox whenever I have people over.

You actually can kill the heroes in the original battlefront. If you are on bespin platforms you can blow them off the map with a grenade. If you are on any map with an IFTX or one with the imperial version you can snag them in the middle and run them over. Or you can just take them outside the map.
You can also kill them if you keep shooting them up, and tossing grenades at them, but it takes FOREVER. I remember killing Dooku on Rhen Var with the Walker and it felt so satisfying, though they do respond when they die. 😂
@@krujanveliuvery true. I managed to kill vader once while he got stuck on top of the hangar on mos eisley. Had to reload from the droid about 5 times or something and shoot single shots from a far enough range to not aggro him so he wouldn't block the shots. Spent the entire game doing it but the can be killed
No you are not! The sensitivity feels horrible. Feels like you can barely move side to side when running around. Then when you are shooting at someone the sensitivity is super high.
Neve played the original Battlefront 1, played the Clone Wars campaign for the first time…Rhen Var is destroyer droid hell! Clutched the win by being the last clone alive against about 20-30 enemy troops.
There is a lot they still need to fix but still glad it feels more like the original rather than the PC port. Although the Battlefront 1 loading screen sounds are so off.

Hello guys! (Bug Tester) Ok, so I have been testing the PS5 port all this morning, and there are some minor bugs here and there and some graphical. But the cutscenes on the campaign were there, the game works fine on PS5 and no major issues were spotted througout 6 hours of playtime. I tested BF1 and it worked perfectly fine except for the odd sound passing of the sound effects in the loading screens. And these issues are sadly present in the BF2 port aswell, but it seems like they worked hard on BF1 and didn’t get enough time to work on BF2 so maybe its going to get fixed… hopefully. Either way, am really happy about it coming to PS5 and playstation in general and I am looking forward to playing it more and more and seeing if any patches pop up! 👍 Issues: * Hud in BF2 is miss aligned and off center on most hud elements. * Music is too low on BF2 and soldier voices don’t work properly. (on BF2 Multiplayer only) * Bloom effects on Mustafar and on planets in spacebattle and some fog shaders are missing, also indirect lighting is completely gone from the game… * Framerate seems great in VRR but seems buggy without it… not sure whats going on but I feel like its the way the game always has been. I have played the game over 1500+ hours on Xbox and PC combined, so if there is a small change I will catch it. * Major Audio Ramping bugs, the audio queues are inverted and in some cases in slomo. * BF1 has bugged loading screen audio. * sometimes when you host your own server on BF2 it gives the host 30fps limited? Weird but it is a bug, and can be fixed. Many more small issues but that most of the bad ones. These are only bugs that I’ve seen personally on my PS5 unit. Other issues may be worse on other platforms. Just a community tester, not a developer.

I’m having fun too. I haven’t tried online so I don’t know have an opinion on it yet. My biggest complaint is the inability to change the inverted flight controls for starfighters. This is on PS4.

If they added AI heroes running around Instant Action matches like how they did on original Xbox BF2, this collection would be perfect, that missing feature is a huge letdown for me
@nnmodo I mean the AI controlled heroes that spawn in during conquest games. For example, when you unlock Obi Wan on Naboo, there should be an AI Darth Maul for you to fight and vice versa. It makes the battles so much more immersive

Use your platform to have your fans sign it. Remember the SpongeBob petition in 2019 to get him in the Super Bowl halftime show in 2019?? IT WORKED. If enough people sign it, it will no doubt come to EA’s attention Look into gameplay of the cancelled Battlefront 3 game from 2009. It was 90% done and modders have basically gotten it functional. And the gameplay looks incredible! A true sequel to BF2. So the files are there and the ability is there. It just needs some polish and to be ported. The fans would love it, and it wouldn’t require much work from EA. Only a big UA-camr like you could do this and spread the word. You’re our only hope
Major changes that were not published: 1. Mines are still stupid OP, somehow they feel stronger? 2. AI have been buffed big time. They are more aggressive, they can move concurrently and perform more maneuvers, likely due to the change in multi threaded performance to allow more concurrent tasks in the engine (pretty sure they changed from 32 bit to 64 bit, which would explain a lot of this). 3. Lightsaber damage has been cranked to 1000000000000%, you can slaughter enemies just as fast but they can slaughter you faster 4. Critical "core memory" sounds have been changed. Loading on BF1 is wrong, Victory music on BF2 is down almost two whole steps from the original pitch, etc. 5. They fixed the reticle, but we all already saw that in literally every "I got a code for a day early access" video. 6. The childhood memories flood back sometimes, but not in droves like booting up BF2 in backwards compatibility on the Xbox. I love the visuals and changes, but my gosh guys, core gameplay is not the same.

I've seen a lot of people talk about it, but also a lot of people (who admittedly dont seem to fully know what they are talking about as they are saying it still has 3 servers... 12 hours after that was fixed...) saying that they didnt do anything at all about that. Also I will admit I didnt do much lightsaber combat, and no lightsaber on lightsaber combat, in the few hours I played this game on my brothers steamdeck, but I feel like the lightsabers just always did that much damage... just my perception, again, I didnt dual grevious on the OG
@@jathan254 Can't say I inspected the code, but the client requirements in Steam paint the story of requiring a 64 bit processor and OS, whereas the originals still quote 32 bit operating systems.
So playing this off of the PS4 release, the only thing I really ran into (waiting for my friend to hop online so we can play Battlefront 1 online) were the odd downpitched sounds in Battlefront 2's Rise Of The Empire campaign. Other than that, everything else is just as everyone remembers it. I still insist on picking this game up to play a piece of good history.
It's a shame they didn't update BF1 with some of the improvements from BF 2 such as switching class at CPs, running, or dodging, or adding all the BF1 maps to BF 2, but I can understand why they didn't as Gunships would be extra mobile spawn points, they worked in BF 2 being restricted to space maps as they could only land and deploy troops in enemy hangers. Maybe they coudl add the BF1 maps at some point if they just change it so Gunships in ground battles have extra troop space but arn't spawn points.
the $5 og steam version still has online 64 player servers and has some amazing mods that enhance the experience and ive been enjoying that one instead of getting absolutely scammed out of $35
I was playing the single player campaign of BFII on the Classic Collection on my PS5 and I noticed the audio is very badly compressed and I hope that Aspyr fixes this issue in a patch. Let me know if you are experiencing how buggy the audio this is and if this is just on PS5 or is this also on the other systems too.
The sad part is this game IS available on Xbox via backwards compatibility. I was just playing a few months ago. All this did was add a few heroes and live servers. The live servers don’t even work well, so this is just a cash grab.

Bro OG Battlefront 3 was 95% done and they canned it. This was revealed by a former Dev. You can watch gameplay of it on youtube. They could easily finish it up and release it. This game and its bad launch is getting a TON of attention. There's a massive demand for Battlefront.
I picked up the SW Battlefront Classic Collection on Xbox (and I still have the originals as well)...Is it just me or do the controls feel a little more sluggish compared to the orginals games. I tried to adjust the controls manually but it really doesn't do much for improvement. (I wonder why the controls are feeling a bit off with this new release). 🤷
Not sure what you play on but I’m on ps5 and within the first 2 hours of the game I already had to install like 2 updates which fixed pretty much any issue I had so hopefully they’ll keep rolling them out
The original version has that phenomenal Battlefront 2 Remastered mod which almost makes it look like a modern game. It definitely puts these slightly upscaled textures to shame.
Me and my Dad used to play it back on the PS2 for years up until around 2012 that's when we found Halo games. But since we don't have our old disc or a memory card, I decided to pre order the classic collection. We had it installed and woke up in the morning and played all the way up until a couple hours ago, and man was it a blast to play it again with my dad.
I think the problem is when Aspyrs servers have to handle a ton of traffic. I played deeeeep into the night when only 4 servers were up and I played with absolutely 0 issues. Compared to when it released worldwide when there were tons of servers and I lagged a bunch. It is not unplayable as some people say but definitely needs work. I’d say the offline is really solid though at least from my experience.
Why would I WANT to win a copy of this game anyway? You can’t play the multiplayer because they cut costs and only had 200 slots available on launch night, they marketed the game as having that multiplayer experience, but once you pay the 35 dollars you can’t even play the game
They need to up the Ticket count. The 1 timer glitch is annoying but its pretty fun so far when it works. Very glitchy and a lot of rubberbanding plus the search feature doesn't work sometimes even when there are 10 slots available. I tried to load into a game of hero assault but was put into conquest. As of right now, if you choose a specific game mode other then any it crash so. Yeah. But it can get better right...right? Hello
I tried playing it earlier on ps5, you really REALLY need to disable the haptic controller triggers, they made the pull so strong, like not just holding down the trigger, or trying to fire the assault rifle as a clone trooper becomes painful quickly.
Slight correction at 4:06, the Xbox One and Series consoles have had both original Star Wars Battlefront games available for purchase since 2018 because of the backwards compatibility program. However, PlayStation players have not been able to boot up those games since the PS3 days back when PlayStation still allowed backwards compatibility.
I never played the originals because I’m only 18, and didn’t have a gaming console until like 2012. I’m really excited to play it no matter if it’s worth the price tbh 😂

I refunded my copy on Steam last night.. Then I played BF2 with many others and talked about the Classic Collection during the matches. I agree for the most part. If you are a console player, then it just might be worth it! However, PC players are better off playing the originals modded until the servers and other issues are addressed.
The multiplayer is absolutely inexcusable. I don’t regret buying it for ps4 because I haven’t played it since ps2 and I don’t have a PC. But I’m very disappointed in Aspyr for their failure with the multiplayer. It’s embarrassing. Hardly any servers, a buggy interface, and even if you manage to get in a game it lasts 2 min tops.

Most of the problems are small and i feel easily fixable. My complaints are: cutscenes are missing, games are too short, coding is fucked so theres hit response issues (especially with certain classes, for example heavies have no splash damage, and you have to hit them dead on with a rocket) not enough servers, spawn glitches, sensitivity issues, fps sucks, space battles are basically unplayable due to sensitivity issues. Im sure theres more. Im still going to buy it, because i want to play my childhood game online and experience some nostalgia. BUT if they fix these which surely doesnt take long, they can salvage it. Videos like these are worrying me because they will prevent so many people from buying it and it will die before it ever had a chance to live
I was honestly expecting like at least 20K people on PC, they could easily have beefed up both games or combined them, I think people just expected a little more than just the absolute bare-bones
I have the 2004 Battlefront 1 classic. I haven't played that sense 6th grade. I don't have the PS2 no more, it's at my grandparents house in a other state. But seeing the game on UA-cam brings me a smile.
Only have two major citicisms atleast for the switch port Removable of extra content for BF1 like the stills you unlock after each historical campaign mission and the changing of the iconic loading screen tone

I only bought this to play with friends. It’s hard for me to be happy about this when they did no quality of life upgrades. I did play an ungodly amount of time when I was a child. The nostalgia trip isn’t strong enough for me to be happy about this. The price is too much in my opinion. Feels hollow and corrosive.
But they actually did add a lot of QOL features. Color blind mode, smooth controller support, UI upscaling, different options in settings menu, bug fixes
Battlefront 1 heroes has normal health but they have a modified health regen that is like 1000% health regen. Also as long as they are grounded they take no damage. Heroes die after their reinforcements reach 20 and below. You can kill a hero by ramming them with a vehicle, blowing them off a ledge and into a pit, or if you are fast and accurate enough blow them into the sky and shoot at them while they are airborne.
Originals are still on Xbox as backwards compatible and run at 4k. Includes the dlc. Has 4 player split screen unlike this dumpster fire. Not paying 40 bucks for a patch that ruins half the equation.
I know it's basically the same game as it was in 2004/5 but I really do wish they could've added a party system but fingers crossed they find a way to add it in an update
While I have already played for hours so far on Series X and have been enjoying it (solely because the original game is just so good). This release is definitely a cash grab. It honestly feels like they spent about a total of 1 month setting all this up. Also feels like nobody on the team was a fan of the original because theres so many things I don't understand how they just left. The BF1 loading screen sounds are glaringly wrong I don't know how anyone that has played this game in the past could have let that slide. Plus the controller sensitivity issues on BF2 ruin the game if you try turning up the sensitivity at all its just unplayable (due to random speed ups and slow downs) (though I do remember this being an issue in the original). Also for whatever reason the lowest sensitivity setting on BF1 (on controller) is around the same as the highest sensitivity setting on BF2. Hopefully they resolve all of these issues SOON.. but its just a shame it seems the project was not a passion project it was just a quick turn around cash grab.

This game feels barebones exactly how it felt on ps2 back in the day. Never even played the online as a kid so this is well worth it for me

They need to add advanced aim settings. Response curve and acceleration strength settings are super needed. If it controlled better I’d be happy.
No you are not! The sensitivity feels horrible. Feels like you can barely move side to side when running around. Then when you are shooting at someone the sensitivity is super high.

Neve played the original Battlefront 1, played the Clone Wars campaign for the first time…Rhen Var is destroyer droid hell! Clutched the win by being the last clone alive against about 20-30 enemy troops.
There is a lot they still need to fix but still glad it feels more like the original rather than the PC port. Although the Battlefront 1 loading screen sounds are so off.

Ok, so I have been testing the PS5 port all this morning, and there are some minor bugs here and there and some graphical. But the cutscenes on the campaign were there, the game works fine on PS5 and no major issues were spotted througout 6 hours of playtime. I tested BF1 and it worked perfectly fine except for the odd sound passing of the sound effects in the loading screens. And these issues are sadly present in the BF2 port aswell, but it seems like they worked hard on BF1 and didn’t get enough time to work on BF2 so maybe its going to get fixed… hopefully. Either way, am really happy about it coming to PS5 and playstation in general and I am looking forward to playing it more and more and seeing if any patches pop up! 👍
Issues:
* Hud in BF2 is miss aligned and off center on most hud elements.
* Music is too low on BF2 and soldier voices don’t work properly. (on BF2 Multiplayer only)
* Bloom effects on Mustafar and on planets in spacebattle and some fog shaders are missing, also indirect lighting is completely gone from the game…
* Framerate seems great in VRR but seems buggy without it… not sure whats going on but I feel like its the way the game always has been. I have played the game over 1500+ hours on Xbox and PC combined, so if there is a small change I will catch it.
* Major Audio Ramping bugs, the audio queues are inverted and in some cases in slomo.
* BF1 has bugged loading screen audio.
* sometimes when you host your own server on BF2 it gives the host 30fps limited? Weird but it is a bug, and can be fixed.
Many more small issues but that most of the bad ones. These are only bugs that I’ve seen personally on my PS5 unit. Other issues may be worse on other platforms.

Should of gotten it for steam deck. The switch was weak when it released back in 2017 and the hardware is the same in 2024.

@nnmodo I mean the AI controlled heroes that spawn in during conquest games. For example, when you unlock Obi Wan on Naboo, there should be an AI Darth Maul for you to fight and vice versa. It makes the battles so much more immersive

Use your platform to have your fans sign it. Remember the SpongeBob petition in 2019 to get him in the Super Bowl halftime show in 2019?? IT WORKED. If enough people sign it, it will no doubt come to EA’s attention
Look into gameplay of the cancelled Battlefront 3 game from 2009. It was 90% done and modders have basically gotten it functional. And the gameplay looks incredible! A true sequel to BF2. So the files are there and the ability is there. It just needs some polish and to be ported. The fans would love it, and it wouldn’t require much work from EA.

Major changes that were not published:
1. Mines are still stupid OP, somehow they feel stronger?
2. AI have been buffed big time. They are more aggressive, they can move concurrently and perform more maneuvers, likely due to the change in multi threaded performance to allow more concurrent tasks in the engine (pretty sure they changed from 32 bit to 64 bit, which would explain a lot of this).
3. Lightsaber damage has been cranked to 1000000000000%, you can slaughter enemies just as fast but they can slaughter you faster
4. Critical "core memory" sounds have been changed. Loading on BF1 is wrong, Victory music on BF2 is down almost two whole steps from the original pitch, etc.
5. They fixed the reticle, but we all already saw that in literally every "I got a code for a day early access" video.
6. The childhood memories flood back sometimes, but not in droves like booting up BF2 in backwards compatibility on the Xbox.
I love the visuals and changes, but my gosh guys, core gameplay is not the same.

So playing this off of the PS4 release, the only thing I really ran into (waiting for my friend to hop online so we can play Battlefront 1 online) were the odd downpitched sounds in Battlefront 2's Rise Of The Empire campaign. Other than that, everything else is just as everyone remembers it. I still insist on picking this game up to play a piece of good history.

It's a shame they didn't update BF1 with some of the improvements from BF 2 such as switching class at CPs, running, or dodging, or adding all the BF1 maps to BF 2, but I can understand why they didn't as Gunships would be extra mobile spawn points, they worked in BF 2 being restricted to space maps as they could only land and deploy troops in enemy hangers. Maybe they coudl add the BF1 maps at some point if they just change it so Gunships in ground battles have extra troop space but arn't spawn points.
They knew BF2 is more popular than BF1, so they deliberately ignored BF1, just refund the game, OG BFs are better

the $5 og steam version still has online 64 player servers and has some amazing mods that enhance the experience and ive been enjoying that one instead of getting absolutely scammed out of $35
I was playing the single player campaign of BFII on the Classic Collection on my PS5 and I noticed the audio is very badly compressed and I hope that Aspyr fixes this issue in a patch. Let me know if you are experiencing how buggy the audio this is and if this is just on PS5 or is this also on the other systems too.
On ps5 everytime I play hero assault mode the audio completely mutes for me and the only way to fix it is to close the app and load the game back up.
The sad part is this game IS available on Xbox via backwards compatibility. I was just playing a few months ago. All this did was add a few heroes and live servers. The live servers don’t even work well, so this is just a cash grab.

Not sure what you play on but I’m on ps5 and within the first 2 hours of the game I already had to install like 2 updates which fixed pretty much any issue I had so hopefully they’ll keep rolling them out

The original version has that phenomenal Battlefront 2 Remastered mod which almost makes it look like a modern game. It definitely puts these slightly upscaled textures to shame.
Me and my Dad used to play it back on the PS2 for years up until around 2012 that's when we found Halo games. But since we don't have our old disc or a memory card, I decided to pre order the classic collection. We had it installed and woke up in the morning and played all the way up until a couple hours ago, and man was it a blast to play it again with my dad.
I think the problem is when Aspyrs servers have to handle a ton of traffic. I played deeeeep into the night when only 4 servers were up and I played with absolutely 0 issues. Compared to when it released worldwide when there were tons of servers and I lagged a bunch. It is not unplayable as some people say but definitely needs work. I’d say the offline is really solid though at least from my experience.
Why would I WANT to win a copy of this game anyway? You can’t play the multiplayer because they cut costs and only had 200 slots available on launch night, they marketed the game as having that multiplayer experience, but once you pay the 35 dollars you can’t even play the game

They need to up the Ticket count. The 1 timer glitch is annoying but its pretty fun so far when it works. Very glitchy and a lot of rubberbanding plus the search feature doesn't work sometimes even when there are 10 slots available. I tried to load into a game of hero assault but was put into conquest. I tried playing it earlier on ps5, you really REALLY need to disable the haptic controller triggers, they made the pull so strong, like not just holding down the trigger, or trying to fire the assault rifle as a clone trooper becomes painful quickly.

Slight correction at 4:06, the Xbox One and Series consoles have had both original Star Wars Battlefront games available for purchase since 2018 because of the backwards compatibility program. However, PlayStation players have not been able to boot up those games since the PS3 days back when PlayStation still allowed backwards compatibility.

I agree for the most part. If you are a console player, then it just might be worth it! However, PC players are better off playing the originals modded until the servers and other issues are addressed.
The multiplayer is absolutely inexcusable. I don’t regret buying it for ps4 because I haven’t played it since ps2 and I don’t have a PC. But I’m very disappointed in Aspyr for their failure with the multiplayer. It’s embarrassing. Hardly any servers, a buggy interface, and even if you manage to get in a game it lasts 2 min tops.

Most of the problems are small and i feel easily fixable. My complaints are: cutscenes are missing, games are too short, coding is fucked so theres hit response issues (especially with certain classes, for example heavies have no splash damage, and you have to hit them dead on with a rocket) not enough servers, spawn glitches, sensitivity issues, fps sucks, space battles are basically unplayable due to sensitivity issues. Im sure theres more. Im still going to buy it, because i want to play my childhood game online and experience some nostalgia. BUT if they fix these which surely doesnt take long, they can salvage it. Videos like these are worrying me because they will prevent so many people from buying it and it will die before it ever had a chance to live

I only bought this to play with friends. It’s hard for me to be happy about this when they did no quality of life upgrades. I did play an ungodly amount of time when I was a child. The nostalgia trip isn’t strong enough for me to be happy about this. The price is too much in my opinion. Feels hollow and corrosive.

Battlefront 1 heroes has normal health but they have a modified health regen that is like 1000% health regen. Also as long as they are grounded they take no damage. Heroes die after their reinforcements reach 20 and below. You can kill a hero by ramming them with a vehicle, blowing them off a ledge and into a pit, or if you are fast and accurate enough blow them into the sky and shoot at them while they are airborne.
What about the movie clips, are they still in SD or did they at least bring them up to HD?

One of my favourite things to do as a kid was play Bespin on BF1 and throw grenades under Luke's feet to launch him off the edge.

While I have already played for hours so far on Series X and have been enjoying it (solely because the original game is just so good). This release is definitely a cash grab. It honestly feels like they spent about a total of 1 month setting all this up. Also feels like nobody on the team was a fan of the original because theres so many things I don't understand how they just left. The BF1 loading screen sounds are glaringly wrong I don't know how anyone that has played this game in the past could have let that slide. Plus the controller sensitivity issues on BF2 ruin the game if you try turning up the sensitivity at all its just unplayable (due to random speed ups and slow downs) (though I do remember this being an issue in the original). Also for whatever reason the lowest sensitivity setting on BF1 (on controller) is around the same as the highest sensitivity setting on BF2. Hopefully they resolve all of these issues SOON.. but its just a shame it seems the project was not a passion project it was just a quick turn around cash grab.
if you played battlefront 1/2 back in the day as a kid, yes its definitely worth it. if you didnt, no
