Hi Richard, the answer to first example question that you have shown should be A.49 and not 36 because "30 and above" would also go on to higher education because they also have scored more than 50%. So answer should be 13 + 36 = 49. Please let me know if I'm wrong.
You're wrong. Everyone with thirty and above has twenty and above so they're already included. Hence why the entire total of one hundred is zero and above.

I like to take my time, write down my working out and do things logically. You don’t have enough time to do that in a numerical reasoning test. It stresses me out so much, I can’t think proper. These tests are not the best way to test someone’s abilities in my opinion. I get too much anxiety when doing them.
If you look at the table, 13 students out of 36 have got 30 and above, not out of the 100, focus on the table carefully, I thought the answer was 49 but I looked again and corrected my answer 👍🏻 good luck
I am a bit confused for the first question, dont you add the maths students who scored both 20 and above and 30 and above since they both qualify for higher education?
I think the table items are like this 0 and above: 0~40 10 and above: 10~40 20 and above: 20~40 30 and above: 30~40 Otherwise, it doesn’t make sense for the rest questions either… so confusing..
it’s because each mark category is out of 100: 90/100 got 10 marks or above (25%), 36/100 got 20 marks or above (50%) 13/100 got 30 marks or above (75%)
There are 36 students who got above 20% and there are 13 students who got above 30%, what you should turn your attention to is that the 13 students who got above 30% is already included in number of students that got above 20%. The 13 number of students is just the number of students that scored above 30% the rest could've scored anywhere between 30 and 20%

Hello Mr. Richard, first please let me thank you about the valuable lessons! Secondly- Could you please share the reasoning behind Q1 being wrong(49 instead of 36)? I really think is 36 and logically it is:1- in total are 100 student, out of whom only 36 got a mark of 20+(50%min is necessary to go to higher education), which means that from 36 students that have got the grades to 50% min only 13 of them got 30+. Therefore 13 should not be added to 36, since it is part of 36.
Thank you for your answer. This is correct. Would you like to subscribe to my channel so you don't miss out on any new content? Your support will be highly appreciated!😊
The answer for the first example isn’t 36, because the column isn’t percent, it’s marks out of 40. They need 50% to get to higher education, so there is 36 with 20 and above, but then there’s also 13 with 30 and above so you need to add both those numbers to come to 49 as the correct answer surely ?
the answer is 36. the "and above" statement means that they could get 20, 25, 30 up to 40. The 20 and above includes the 13 students that obtained above 30. You could also see that 100 students at least 0; therefore, the addition of all the students should add up to 100 and 13+36+90 is not equal to 100.

Hello Richard. My question is about 1st exercise. It says at least 50%, so 30 and above is 13. And 20 and above is 36. So it means we need plus them. 13+36= 49. Could you explain it pls?
Hello in my understanding, 20 and above already includes those who had scores of 30 and above which is why the answer is 36 and not 49. I hope this helps!
@@marianneandrad but the quesion says: at least 50% needed, meaning that 50% and above is enough. Could you maybe explain why is the answer is 36? Maybe I'm missing out on smth
@@suplex8802 I thought the same thing, but then when you look at the number of students who got "0 and above" it is 100. We can assume that that's the total number of students who took the test. So if each category really was separate, then they would all add to 100, but 13 + 36 + 90 exceeds 100. So, for example, looking at the category "10 and above" it is 90 because it also includes the students who got 20 and above etc. Probably 10 students got less than 10/40. Hope I explained that well enough
Hi, with Q7 in this video you are looking for the most people that are employed at one time in any month and in any department. Take another look and see if you can spot the which department has the most people.
No, you only use the 20 and above column because that includes the students of 30 and above in it. Just as the 0 or above column includes all the columns after(or before depending on which way you're looking ;) it
Hi Richard, in Q1 why is it you would not add the 13 students with 30 and above into the answer if they are also eligible to go on to higher education?
Thank you for your answer. This is correct. Would you like to subscribe to my channel so you don't miss out on any new content? Your support will be highly appreciated!😊
@@sahatotti9437 If you look at the data from backwards you will see that there would be 90 students who scored 0 and above. Saw that? Now, rightfully you will have only 10 left who scored between 10 and 100 right? But why is that not the case. It is because the each column is inclusive. So, If you take 20 and above, 36 students scored more than 20 and up-to 40. "Among them", 13 scored more than 30. By counting both the values for 20 and above and 30 and above you are essentially duplicating the values.

the answer is 36. the "and above" statement means that they could get 20, 25, 30 up to 40. The 20 and above includes the 13 students that obtained above 30. Pretty sure the answer to the first question is 49 since they need at least 50% and that would include 30 and above and 20 and above
No because those 30 and above students are already included in 20 and above category
Thanks for your video! Hope you make more like this.

Question 3: A 23
This is correct
Surely question one is 49? the people who have scored over 30 have achieved over 50% aswell?
20 and above will include people who score 30 plus
sorry dave, the number of people who achieved over 20 includes those who scored over 30.i was nearly tricked on this myself
I thought this myself. I'm still a little confused why just look at the second column as the 30 or more marks still logically is over 50%
Yer thought the same thing
No, you only use the 20 and above column because that includes the students of 30 and above in it. Just as the 0 or above column includes all the columns after(or before depending on which way you're looking ;) it

Can you explain how to get the answer of question number 4 please.
Q6.....C 15
Question 2 is ''D'' 52%
Q1, I don't get it, isn't it 49?
cause any student gets 20 and above can go to higher education
hence, 36+13=49.
Hi, Unfortunately, this is not the correct answer.
Answer for this Q is C-36 :)
@@CareerVidz why is he wrong?
@@sahatotti9437 If you look at the data from backwards you will see that there would be 90 students who scored 0 and above. Saw that? Now, rightfully you will have only 10 left who scored between 10 and 100 right? But why is that not the case. It is because the each column is inclusive. So, If you take 20 and above, 36 students scored more than 20 and up-to 40. "Among them", 13 scored more than 30. By counting both the values for 20 and above and 30 and above you are essentially duplicating the values.
