      Preparing the video took me ~3 weeks, and it has been down for 3 months in summer since SHL had banned the video for false copyright claims and I had to fight legal battles to get it back on here... So yeah, comments such as yours make my day and motivate me to keep going 😉

    Hi Jack! I am slightly confused. Time stamp 22:30: Jerome and Maria seem to be the same. Jerome made target at exactly 10% and didn't exceed the goal, yet he's receiving a bonus. Maria made target as well at just over 10% at 437.8 deliveries, but I rounded it off to 437 instead yet she isn't receiving a bonus. Why is that?

    • @YOUinConsulting
      @YOUinConsulting  7 місяців тому

      Hi! Was just about to respond to your question on the pie chart / island C, but seems you have resolved it yourself in the meantime 🙂 Jerome indeed completed 770/700 = 10% deliveries, and his average rating is sufficient to earn the 25 USD bonus. Maria completed 437/398 < 10% deliveries (check your calculation once again!), which is why she has not earned the bonus. Clear now?

      Hi Merry, for each bar you have to divide the segment time by the total time for that bar. So for instance to get to the 53% in the top left, you need to divide 75/142.5 .

    • @YOUinConsulting
      @YOUinConsulting  7 місяців тому +11

      Hi! Next time, kindly add question number / video minute for reference 🙂 But I got ya, your question is about question no 1/13 at 16:42. I am afraid your calculation is not correct. The task states that in 2021, the company had 10% fewer customers than in 2020. Equivalently, this means that the number of 2021 customers amounts to 90% of 2020 customers. In order to compute the number of 2020 customers from the given number of 72.000 customers in 2021, you need to multiply by the reciprocal value: 1/90%, or 1/0,9, or 10/9 (as it is written in my solution).
      When applying a percentage reduction in one direction, in order to return to the original number, you always have to apply the reciprocal value. For instance, if you increase 100 by 10% (or multiply by 1,1), it yields you 110. If you then again (wrongly) reduce by 10%, you land at 99 instead of 100. Instead you have to multiply by reciprocal value 1/1,1=10/11 to return to 100.
      If you are still unclear, take a look at my percentage calculation recap video 🙂

    I feel so stupid lol, i dont understand the interactive test at all... i dont get it, the 1st question that you said is really easy, i find it so difficult, I couldnt understand what you mean by "the red triangle, just move one triangle to the left" i tried to make it make sense in my head but i just couldnt understand it... so are we moving the "colored triangle" to the left or the "white triangle" to the left, if we moved the colored triangle to the left then why the colored part changed (idk how to say it but it the white triangle become colored triangle (hourglass)). If you said the triangle move to the left side then why in the 3rd picture, the most right triangle part already become white triangle? isnt it supposed to be the most right and the middle part that become colored triangle? it's really hard to explain what im confused about in english and it annoyed me a lot.. so I wish you make more detailed in explanation using pictures step by step about the logic, instead of just saying it by word

    • @YOUinConsulting
      @YOUinConsulting  День тому

      Hi! I think you posted your question twice. I copy my answer just given to you:
      Let me try to rephrase: When you go through the four shapes from the left to the right (1 to 4), from 1 to 2, 2 to 3 and 3 to 4, all pairs of red (or colored) triangles move one triangle pair to the left. Maybe it is easiest to see between 2 and 3.
      If the outer left pair of triangles has been colored, they reenter the next shape from the right (i.e., outer right pair of triangles is colored).
      Can you see it now?

    Hiii 🎉 have a question please. What’s your tips to do these in time constraints? The question will have only a little over a minute to answer… how can these be done quickly??

    • @YOUinConsulting
      @YOUinConsulting  4 місяці тому +2

      Hi! In the video, I had pointed the fact that some question types demand more time than others. For instance, in the numerical reasoning test part, you should run rather quickly through the, e.g., line chart and ranking questions, so that you can spend a bit more time on the pie chart and bar chart questions.
      If you feel you struggle for too long with a specific question, it is important that you do not get hung up to it for too much time and rather skip it and move on quickly.
      Finally, yes the tests are designed to put you under time stress. It is unlikely you will be able to a) go through all questions AND b) answer all of them correctly.
      However, you will never need to get 100% right. The cut-off score may depend on the competitiveness of your target employer; the more applicants, probably the higher the cut-off score.

      My questions:
      1. Can I go back later to the questions I have skipped so I can try to solve them?

      @@tomasdcm Smart questions, and if I had known the definite answers to them, I would certainly have included them in the video 😉
      On 1) As far as I know: no. In the simulations, you can go back though
      On 2) I am afraid whether or not you getminus points for wrongly answered questions is a secret I have not yet managed to uncover. How did you draw your conclusion on the basis of the result reports?
      The point though is not to get hung up for too long on objectively difficult/time-consuming questions (whether you decide to just skip them or to make a random guess).

      Hi! You refer to question 2 at 17:43, right? In order to solve for C, you need to plug in the solutions for A, B and D into the fourth equation, hence: 250.000 = (4xC) + (4xC - 92.200) + C + (C + 4200). This equals to 250.000 = 10xC - 88.000.     • @YOUinConsulting
      @YOUinConsulting  7 місяців тому +1

      Sure, you are referring to question 10 at minute 36:42. The Operations condition says: "Operations is scheduled with the same difference from sales as it is from R&D". Given the first 3 slots are taken already, Operations has to come fourth (otherwise, it would be impossible to have the Operations workshop be equidistant to two other workshops). Then Operations is two slots away from sales, so it must also be two slots away from R&D. For this reason, R&D must take place as the last workshop, and the remaining slot no 5 is assigned to Marketing. Clear now?

      Thank you very much 🖖 Of course, the more questions you answer, the better! As I explain in the early parts of the video, every company may set the cut-off score individually and by itself, so the more questions you answer, the higher your odds of exceeding the required score.
      If you found you struggled in SHL's official mock test modules, I suggest you invest some further time into test preparation (given the SHL mock tests are somewhat easier than the real ones).

      For preparation, the paid SHL test prepkit is very good, and two days would be enough to process its most important materials. If you are looking for further free resources beyond the SHL mock tests, you can for instance work with those I suggest in my prepkit on the other online tests, for instance McKinsey's or BCG's mock tests, which also test your analytical and quant skills.

      Hi! You refer to question 2 at 18:47, right? In order to solve for C, you need to plug in the solutions for A, B and D into the fourth equation, hence: 250.000 = (4xC) + (4xC - 92.200) + C + (C + 4200). This equals to 250.000 = 10xC - 88.000. I just wrote a freaking essay long question about inductive reasoning number 1 yet it s gone, well the point is, i dont understand what you mean by "red triangle" moving to the left; i assume red triangle you mean here, is the colored one (?) if so then why the 3rd picture, the colored triangle when from the most right side (2nd picture) to mid side and left side; if u said it's moved to the left, triangle by triangle then isnt the colored triangle supposed to move to the left hence the most right side and middle part will turn to colored triangle instead of the middle and right part (?); it's so annoying that I couldnt understand the "easy logic" that you meant, and I can't even explain it to you which part is it that confuses me and it's so frustrating, I really hope you can make step by step explanation using picture by picture instead of just saying it through word and expecting us to understand the "easy logic" coz I really dont understand it T.T; i tried to make it make sense but i just couldnt understand it

      Bro, first: DON'T PANIC! 😃 Sorry your first comment got lost - comment function in UA-cam is buggy, unfortunately.
      In regards to your question, let me try to rephrase: When you go through the four shapes from the left to the right (1 to 4), from 1 to 2, 2 to 3 and 3 to 4, all pairs of red (or colored) triangles move one triangle pair to the left. Maybe it is easiest to see between 2 and 3.
      If the outer left pair of triangles has been colored, they reenter the next shape from the right (i.e., outer right pair of triangles is colored).
