Lemonhead 15 that’s a feature on this game actually. At least on console I know it is. PS or Kinect camera can detect ambient noise in the room and translate that into the noise you make in game. Not good when Xeno is hunting you. The muffled screaming you’re forced to make is horrifying
You think watching someone else is scary? Try playing it yourself. Egad, this game was terrifying! And that's exactly why I remember it so fondly. It'd pop out of a vent, snoop around for a bit, then climb back into a vent for a minute or so, then pop out again, snoop around for a bit, then hop back into a vent. Once you made a rough memorization of that time pattern it was too easy to move around so long as you didn't make a lot of noise along the way. Oh, and lockers as a hiding space will almost-always get you caught.

You know that game has an option to pick up mircophone audio and the Xenomorph reacting to it. That would even be twice as entertaining if Womble wasn't even alowed to make hysterical noises in fear of being heard and hunted down.
Womble is giggly and is hyperventilating, you can actually feel his shaking just by how much his breathing is shaking. While Ripley is more just light hyperventilation and generic heavy breathing that sounds much more composed than Womble's sheer panic and fear.
10:25 I must admit I had no idea you could meet the xenomorph _BEFORE_ the scripted event in the doctor's area...makes me wonder whether the xenomorph is prowling around the entire time you're playing and you just didn't know...adds an extra layer of terror to this already pissed-pants enducing game.
Spoiler for gameplay but: It IS. There are certain areas where it won’t ever go, but they’re exceedingly rare. The game literally throws the Xenomorph at you super early and it never leaves other than specific parts. It will always be there, and there’s actually a complicated mechanism to how it will appear. There’s a “fear gauge” if I remember correctly, that will slowly fill up with time and as certain sounds and events play out. Once it’s almost full, the alien will prowl. At its max, it will deliberately come near the player’s area. Then after a minute or so, the game tells it to back off for a while. That’s why the game is so intense- it’s designed to give you JUST enough of a break, but never enough that your fear will lower entirely.
Klaw Schafer Addition to that: The Alien is dependent upon a number of in game factors that are partially decided by player action. Yes, the Alien follows the fear gage, but why it showed up so early was due to Womble’s own actions. He for instance, constantly checked his radar, ran around a bunch, aggro’d NPCs, and so on. Which done at his pacing, agro’ed the Alien earlier as per its AI design. Honestly, the AI for this game is top tier, and is STILL an industry standard to reach for most Horror games. Also, the AI adapts based on your actions fun enough. Let’s say you hide in lockers a lot. If you do it enough, the AI starts checking lockers, ‘sniffing’ them for your presence. More veteran players use this to gimp the monster, as it tends to only use one or two control factors. If it misses you consistently, it will adapt to what your new hiding spots tend to be. Ergo, it is one of the few adaptive AI in gaming. It also, is one of the Hardest to beat later in the game because it KNOWS YOU. It knows your patterns, it knows how you like to hide, chances, percentages, and other data are tighter and tighter the longer you play. Making late gameplay all the harder. Like I said, it is hunting you, and it is damn good at it. That’s what makes it so scary, because it learns to HUNT you. Using a combination of the “Fear bar” and pathfinding. Also, if it hasn’t encountered you in a while, like you avoid setting the Fear bar up by doing the right actions to dodge it. The AI will do a forced encounter, (you get some indicator warnings) and it will proceed to screw with you a bit until it gets its encounter fill and leaves, patrolling vents and other areas working in your proximity to keep you on your toes until you move to new areas.
I saw one woman's playthrough where she got nailed right after she boarded Sevastopol because she kept running everywhere. I thought, "Well, that answers that!"
@@davidthorp01 You know it, brother!! Up until I met "Axel," or whatever the hell that guy's name was in the first cutscene, I was being REALLY careful about making much noise at all. I didn't run anywhere, but I was walking quite a bit. After that? Hands and knees, buddy! I think the only time I ran anywhere was after the Joe saw me near the cafeteria after the explosion and I had to run for a tube to get away. I figured I was safe; there was so much background noise, I doubt the alien would have heard a Mac truck roll through at that point.
I come and rewatch this entire series every year or two, it's that entertaining. I don't think there is another person who can play horror games and match Womble's level of entertainment. It gives me plenty of laughs and plenty of anxiety, I love it 👌🏼
No "OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHH" when you see an enemy, no slow motion replays on the screaming parts, can't tell is that your breath or the character one, start doing nervous laught for no reason.... This is maybe the best but REAL reactions video on youtube i ever seen from a horror game
It's his breathing. Ripley is not scripted to breathe heavily unless she gets shot or something like that, so... Yeah, the heavy breathing is Womble's!
Kelpy G Wind can happen in a ship with high/low pressure rooms. It just wouldn't be strong, and wouldn't travel through most of the station to some spot where he is.
Sean 48 Yeah, that was the point of my comment. They always give your character exaggerated breathing, but it is actually how some people breathe when they're scared
it is part of the fight or flight response, it means he has adrenaline running through his system and his body is keeping higher levels of oxygen in his muscles and blood in preparation for either. Easier to start a sprint if you dont need a warm up
i have to say Soviet unlike most youtubers your reactions are the most human. My favorite reaction was when you first saw the Xenomorphs drool. i could hear the genuine dread and fear in your voice. 10/10 would watch again.

Christopher Rahm Ooooof, never do that, especially with this game. It sets off all the bloody “tripwires”.
It gives me plenty of laughs and plenty of anxiety, I love it 👌🏼
Same :)
I can feel the panic... It's making me panic as well. Dammit
Panic at the Disco
No "OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHH" when you see an enemy, no slow motion replays on the screaming parts, can't tell is that your breath or the character one, start doing nervous laught for no reason.... This is maybe the best but REAL reactions video on youtube i ever seen from a horror game
Its the best
It's his breathing. Ripley is not scripted to breathe heavily unless she gets shot or something like that, so... Yeah, the heavy breathing is Womble's!
+Nil San Agustín Guerrero his Man-man Card got revoked because of this game
It's his breathing.
I can see that you watch a lot of pewdiepie :P
They should hire womble to do voice acting for horror games (the main character breathing hard)
He would be great tho.
16:26 Everything here, from the slight glimpse of the Xenomorph to Ripley's death happens so perfectly.
* Hears a noise in space where there is no wind* then proceeds to say its just the wind
Kelpy G Wind can happen in a ship with high/low pressure rooms. It just wouldn't be strong, and wouldn't travel through most of the station to some spot where he is.
Lil Hotdog - Topic Do you think noise wouldn't transfer on a space station?
This would be so much better with cyinide
There is actually wind in space it is what gives us the northern and southern lights come from
Connor Flannigan those are solar winds
It got to the point where I couldn’t tell if it was Womble or Ripley breathing heavily lmao
Chris Snead Womble is more terrified than Ripley :v
Same
I always thought the heavy breathing thing in video games was stupid. This video showed me it's real.
Jackson kavanagh isn't that womble
Sean 48 Yeah, that was the point of my comment. They always give your character exaggerated breathing, but it is actually how some people breathe when they're scared
Jackson kavanagh
M
it is part of the fight or flight response, it means he has adrenaline running through his system and his body is keeping higher levels of oxygen in his muscles and blood in preparation for either. Easier to start a sprint if you dont need a warm up

Well, that's a really in depth analysis of it, but yeah. I guess you're right.

this is the sound of pure fear. i love it.
So this is what sincere fear sounds like from a youtuber during a horror game playthrough. I thought I'd never find that out.
There's also Jesse Cox (not a relative) playing Dead Space. It gets to the point that he pretty much craps himself when his communicator goes off.
Fake as fuck.
Superspec Not anymore
imagine drunk womble playing these horror games
He'll just pass out during game intro😆
I don t want him to die pls 😅
*d e d*
*...Lights flicker...*
"OH GOD!"

I just watched all of these and 80% of it is womble saying "it's fine it's fine" and "im not freaking out". 10% is locker simulator

Shadowblaster2003 you are really bad at math
Cunicle I'll have you know I'm doing Pre-calculus and I have an "A"
Shadowblaster2003 i know im late but i love your comment your awesome

Womble could voiceact for ripley honestly, the sound of gasping for air and sniffing is just too
good
He sounds like a woman too
"Bugger" the last words of Soviet Womble before he was eaten by a space alien.
lol
Womble should become a breathing voice actor in horrorgames
How very English of him isn't it?
I can confirm that, as a fellow Englishman, they are fine last words.
oh Bugger
i have to say Soviet unlike most youtubers your reactions are the most human. My favorite reaction was when you first saw the Xenomorphs drool. i could hear the genuine dread and fear in your voice. 10/10 would watch again.
Typhoon 10/10 have watched again and again and will repeat watching again and again
And he played it the way it was meant to be played. Alone, in the dark, at night, with surround sound headphones..
And watched whole series for like 5 times already, and discovered this like 2 months ago.
Typhoon It sounds like he's about to have a heart attack. It worries me.
This guy was genuinely terrified. No acting. A real UA-camr.
#GiveWombleMoreSubs
He hss 2 mil
#givewomble100ksubs
but then again, if he were to have fame, there might be drama here and there, so i guess i kinda want to rephrase that.
uuh if he'd upload a little more he'd be cooler. 1 to 3 months of streaming for just 30minutes of a UA-cam video... nah thx
u try
7 years old, and this content is still top tier compared to todays entertainment
for real
15:37 he's gone crazy Jesus Christ
Womble will become a psychopathic murderer if ever placed in a horror situation irl. I can feel it.
Awsome
I'm not crazy.
@@mypenisisunbelievablesmall6558 HAHAHAHA LOL

You could really be a good voice actor for a horror game
Breathe really fucking hard
This was a constructive comment. I appreciate it.
It’s because that isn’t acting; he just scares easy. Real panic breakdowns will always evoke a stronger response then even the best faked ones.
Hunt down the freeman comes to mind
This is the first time I have seen this playthrough and Im fucking loving it. Bless this man for going through this.
His reaction is so genuine and terrified that it makes it so much scarier to watch
I Know Right? Damn this is gold.
I got one better for ya. Being able to feel what happened to ya in a scary game
He is the only horror game player I watch for that reason it’s indescribably better
"It takes more than a silly computer game to scare me." Android jumpscare "OH NO NO NO NO NO DON'T COME FOR ME! BACK OFF, STAY BACK. ERRGHGHGH OH GOD OH GOD NO NO NO!"
I think I was more nervous watching Womble play the game then I was just actually playing the game.
Frost Fire It's because Womble might genuinely die
Same
Frost Fire u stole my fucking Xbox gamerpic 😂
Alien: Isolation is one of the very few story games I've really replayed, and this is one of the only youtube series I've rewatched. I'm back again. This playthrough is just so good!
I'm not so much scared of the game as I am for Womble's health... The man sounds like he's on the verge of having a heart attack... or he's trying to run a marathon while recording this...
Yeah, thought the same!!😅
Fun fact: Fear actually makes your heart stronger.
@@svary6440 Fear also makes your cortisol levels higher, which is generally bad for your brain and vascular system, leading to negative moods, poor decision-making, lack of sleep and an increased risk of heart attack in the long run, among a long list of other things which i don't care to list.

he's 32 this year. lol.
Bleach Your maths is off. He's either 30 or 31 since it isn't October yet.
He was 30 when the first comment was made, he's 31 now. July 6. Still mindblowing though, haha.
Sounds more like he's 7.
Brad Torville I'd be squeaking like I was 7 too if I was playing this game
I was squeaking playing dead space 2 on the hardest difficulty at like 3 in the morning. Did it again, when I played this, and I'm almost 24 lol
15:33 how people really break down. Good job man, you really play the part of the scared-as-shit-survivor
This Video is The Gold of Scary Games Gameplay on UA-cam, damn i love it!!
Hes not playing any part, he genuinely scared to shit
@@nondescripthandle212 True, but User of Username was probably referencing to the way Womble sounds like a deranged lunatic who has lost their mind with how he's laughing at that timestamp. Which, as we can see by his recent videos he's fine now.
Alien Isolation: "you're just 28 years old" | Pavlov VR: "32 years old".
Damn time runs fast
He probably lies about his age but what we know is that Soviet is around his late twenties or early thirties and maybe still single
unknown player notice this video was uploaded in 2014, and also notice how the Pavlov video was uploaded in 2018, time flies
unknown player I read from a subreddit that Womble’s born in 1986, so he probably wasn’t lying.
Soo he's probably 34 now?
Soviet has aged a bit
his reactions are so genuine it feels like you're in this situation realistically and I love it!
this game retains the spirit of the original movie quite well
The environments are amazing. Someone made a no-alien mod just so you can wander thru the station admiring all the level design in peace.

Give the man credit, this is an intense game. I played with friends watching and I still got scared at points even after watching 3 playthroughs before playing it.
That fear of going so long without a save point while everything around you threatens to take away all that progress is stressful.
Legend has it, Womble hasn't slept to this day
Seth Steinmetz It wouldn't surprise me this game is scary as fuck especially the way he plays it
Scariest thing about this is watching him play with an empty magazine
So fucking true
Scariest thing about that is revolvers dont take magazines xD, you mean cylinder?
Christian Turner why you gotta be that guy cmon
leo townsend Magazines aren't even close to Cylinders, that's why.

Drakoĉjo i agree😂
Coming back to this playthrough 8 years later, I have to commend Womble on having accurate subtitles, not only available, but edited onto the video itself. So many UA-camrs don't bother with it, so I'm immensely grateful for the ones that do ❤
If this game had a mic feature thing where it picked up the noises you make, Womble would be absolutely fucked.
Ze D I'm pretty sure it does actually but you can turn it off
It does at least on xbox but you need the motion detector thing (i forgot what its called)
