There are two types of BUs: 1) Ones that are exchange rate risk prone. 2) Ones that are NOT. Both needs innovation. A candy store caters to specific age group. Way past the age limit the same customers opt out to medicines. Q. What’s the unique part of a shoe that remains constant?
1. SME can go Franchise and become Global or Super Region. 2. SME are based on Innovation "maybe no digital". They create Innovation for the local accessible market first, then expand to a larger markets. 3. IDE can also be family/single own, and don't always rely on investors. You are after the fact rationalizing from a limited group and limited experience.
When it comes to academics they create their own terms and words so that there's a right and a wrong about it very little is left to subjectivity -- he gave you the terms he gave you the rules related to the terms they are not subject to arbitrary change. Ifyou can make your own terms and your own rules for those terms you get to enjoy the same liberty.
modern entrepreneurship is defined by a certain way of making money, it begins with seed capital and ends with M&A and IPO/LBO. And it requires a certain management style and mindset. On the other hand, SMEs aren't entrepreneurial enterprises, because they tend to focus on cash flow rather than growth, sales rather than innovation, local market share rather than new markets. Unless the SME is managed in an entrepreneurial way, it's called a business not a start-up, and the owners are called business owners or business men, not entrepreneurs. Sir you're contradicting most of the modern research findings with your explanation
Thank you! Clear distinction between SME and IDE. Ignoring this might be accountable for lots of the confusion and frustration observed among people involved in entrepreneurship.
Entrepreneurship is not an easy journey, but it’s worth every challenge you face. The grind may be tough, but the rewards are even greater. Keep going, the universe is supporting you! 🚀🌟 How do you stay motivated on tough days?
I am thinking about a new type of restaurants : eating-spots, in eating-spots, food keeps changing, chefs also rotate, this is opposed to current restaurants, thanks to this rotation of food and chefs, eating-spots are more powerful than restaurants, along with that, there is an app, people vote for the food that will be cooked in the next days, menu is influenced by the live input of the people via an app.
This is the fact happened in many large enterprise, however few leaderships realize this and they only see the valley that you are keeping losing money which they don't see as investment. Eventually it is a tragedy.
I kind off disagree a bit, what about small business in a local market that starts and then turns out globally? It won't lose money at the beginning and the same time it won't end up logarithmically financial wise. What do you think? Is that another model for an enterprise runtime?
i think the best way to think about it is that one needs a lot of capital because it tends to use high tech machinery/robotics and copyrighted intellectual property rights that competitors cant use, whereas the other is relegated to manual labor in a competitive market. its the big fish and the small fry. innovative is used because it sounds good when you're trying to get a politician to manipulate laws and permits in your favor :P
Definions should be mutually comprehensive and exlusive. But this simlification is not a good definition. How about an SME that is innovation driven? All big businesses start small (SME) and the become global.
I am sorry you are wrong, SME or IDE any new business will have negative cashflows initially. Your definition is artificial and incorrect. Rather than cash flows you could have just focused on innovation or the impact the IDE has v/s the SME's. Negative Cash flows do not define or separate the 2 kind of start-ups, only their scope and impact does. P.S. Some SME's can be innovative as well, just their markets are smaller, so they cannot grow as much. In that case innovation too is not a differentiator. The real differentiator is scale and impact to the society, I guess.
Be very careful when you tell an academic that they're wrong. You must remember the institution create their own terms and parameters for those terms. After a term has been created accepted and reviewed by the peers then that term and parameters are taught in academic circles with little change in order to ensure transferability and common understanding across a large International student population Those who wish to argue about the merits of the terms or definitions for the terms may do so in their own articles and thesis so that it may be put up for academic review.
Juliet Nakayima IDE stands for Innovation Driven Entrepreneurship. An entrepreneurship coming out of an innovation that has the potential to scale up to a large geographic and demographic group!
I wanna start a company like Samsung like make mobile phone, house hold appliances & also like apple ...give something new & unique ..... I'm 1st year BE(cs) student....& I have tons of ideas... so how to start coz starting a company like that is riskiest thing & I'm not a rich kid....I wanna make money of my own....
And that went to the professor's point the fact that although Michael Jordan was the number one basketball player in a professional sport his skill-set did not transfer to another sport at the same performance level.
Your statement is true and his intention was also true, although Michael Jordan was a pro basketball and a pro baseball player he was was great in one and horrible in the other. So the professor's point was that although basketball and baseball are both Sports and a lot of the skill sets overlap it doesn't mean one can simply transfer his great athletic ability from one sport to the next sport and get the same or similar performance results.
You see young graduates need to hear the truth. That is why you have beggars who go about flaunting their masters degree certificates everywhere. Most universities now have entrepreneurship centres because of the large number of students who graduate every year. If you are not able to secure a job immediately, you can start a small job that pays you monthly. You don't have to sit and wait for someone to give you a job that is why parents need to tell their children the truth. It doesn't make sense for a first class or second class upper graduate to submit their curriculum vitae to someone who had a third class degree. If you are more intelligent than them you should be the CEO of that company.
need in global and adress that not just local small enterprises serve the need of the world innovation driven enterprise global market to serve more talent teamleverage talent leverage capital leverage unlimited market innovation taht unique can be adressed to much broader market more broader not local by shareholder

I love the fact that we have the ability to learn mostly anything at our own will and ability. ..
The internet
Very true
Except we humans are cursed with this psychological phenomenon known as 'Transience' in which we forget lots of crucial things as we age
Hey still alive😂
It's these types of videos as well as the internet, that I wish was available when I was younger. Good stuff.
Networkrr, it is never late
It was available when you were younger -- I know you meant much younger I'm just pulling your leg [smile]
SME = mom n' pop shop
IDE = franchised company or corperation
No. McDonald’s isn’t in the same business as Tesla or neurolink. McDonald’s is technically a subset of sme.
Wrong.
IDE is more scalable. We need big cash for those.
There are two types of BUs:
1) Ones that are exchange rate risk prone.
2) Ones that are NOT.
Both needs innovation. A candy store caters to specific age group. Way past the age limit the same customers opt out to medicines.
Q. What’s the unique part of a shoe that remains constant?
Great information, especially for those who know nothing about entrepreneurship but are looking to get into it. Awesome video! 👍

I fully agree with your statement, he needs to go back an conduct a proper research then make his videos
On other hand SMEs
Just on managerial to specific.
Sir
Tks
Entrepreneurship is... the identification and pursuit of opportunities for new value creation - irrespective of market reach or ownership

Ideological attempt to harness ambitions and neuroses for "good"?
Hey that's Truck Taxi

This is assuming small businesses don't share the 'initial negative cash flow' characteristics with the innovation-driven enterprises...
This is the fact happened in many large enterprise, however few leaderships realize this and they only see the valley that you are keeping losing money which they don't see as investment. Eventually it is a tragedy.
Thank you for this! Interesting - great for my Entrepreneurship 12 class.
I find it is very useful since we do not know what it exactly means when people use the word.
Wow by your definitions of SME and IDE it looks like Truck Taxi will bs a hybridization of both.
Yes, there is cross over. I'm on track to send the pitch by Wednesday.
I kind off disagree a bit, what about small business in a local market that starts and then turns out globally?
It won't lose money at the beginning and the same time it won't end up logarithmically financial wise. What do you think? Is that another model for an enterprise runtime?
It would be more of a franchise or firm. Examples include international insurance companies, banking, and services.

SME can be innovative too.. btw nice .
i think the best way to think about it is that one needs a lot of capital because it tends to use high tech machinery/robotics and copyrighted intellectual property rights that competitors cant use, whereas the other is relegated to manual labor in a competitive market. its the big fish and the small fry.
innovative is used because it sounds good when you're trying to get a politician to manipulate laws and permits in your favor :P

Definions should be mutually comprehensive and exlusive. But this simlification is not a good definition. How about an SME that is innovation driven? All big businesses start small (SME) and the become global.
